Fixed a bug that loaded ending 1 instead of 5 when the player is killed by a boss.
Im once again using this game to announce others since its the one that seems to get more attention. Probably because the monsters look cool and its cheap. But anyways, on to the new mess:
Pseudo-Haunting is my first foray into classic survival horror. Its got all the basics: limited supplies, fixed camera angles (built with modern controls in mind), optional tank controls, [strike]crappy [/strike]old-school 3D models and documents with important lore laying on the floor. Yes, theres a story this time around.
However, the game has a major twist in regards to the combat: to fight off the ghost-bug-things, you will rip off your own spirit of your body. Its similar to how moving the parasite works in this game, but much more useful. And its not limited to combat, you will also be using it to solve puzzles and explore a glitched haunted house.
The demo is available now, hope you enjoy the confusion:

Welcome to DETUNED, an anti-rhythm hidden object game where you try to survive a randomly generated song. While Me and My Eldritch Parasite is more of a roguelite, this project is a full-on roguelike, with permadeath and a shop system.
Speaking of the shop system, if DETUNED detects that you have the Me and My Eldritch Parasite save files, a bonus item will be unlocked. This works by looking for MAMEPs save folder, so youll probably need to have played the tutorial or changed the settings for it to work, but it will detect any version of the game (Steam, Itch.io or Gamejolt).
Added an option to choose whether the game keeps the default 16:9 aspect ratio or changes the ratio to match the screen/window size.
The achievements update introduced an error that caused the game to lock the player on ending 1. This was caused by a misplaced line of code and has been fixed. Additionally, a few minor improvements have been added: -Changed pause menu text color when selected so it's easier to read. -Decreased one of the final bosses' attack chance.
Ive been working on adding a custom achievement system for future projects and decided to test it with this good old abominatio err, game. I settled on in-game achievements over Steam ones so the feature remains avalaible to the plenty of (2 or 3) people that buy the Itch.io or Gamejolt versions of Me and my Eldritch Parasite. This update also adds a screen where you can view the achievements conditions and your current progress.
The requirements for the achievements do not check for progress before the update (mostly because a system to check for that kinda didnt exist in the old version), so returning players will have to meet the Eternal Residences lovely hosts once again.
Additionally, this update adds a few minor changes:
- Reworked an animation in the bedroom area that caused slight flashing lights on larger screens.
- Go to sleep option in the bedroom area takes you to the title screen instead of closing the game.
The soundtrack from Me and My Eldritch Parasite (if you can call it that) is out now.
- The game displays the current floor number when using a door.
- Tutorial text changed to highlight that the parasite is the player's hitbox.
- Enemies ignore you for a brief amount of time when using a door.
- Losing a normal level no longer resets the adquired tools.
- "Main menu" buton removed from pause menu to prevent "going to main menu and restarting level" exploit.

And you really, really don't like your parasite.
There might be a way to get rid of it, but it will take plenty of tries. And maybe some body horror.
>Welcome to the Eternal Residence
"Me and my Eldritch Parasite" is a realistic game in the sense that you don't get any mercy for being the player.
Explore a randomly generated building and enjoy a bizarre artstyle made out of surreal photo collages. This game aims to use random generation to increase the fear of the unknown. Even if you learn every enemy and hazard, you will never know where they will strike.
>A virtual pet but fleshier
Your parasite has needs. Make sure to grab food and buggrubs along the way. Otherwise, there will be consequences...
>In company of... creatures
You are not alone. More than 20 types of parasite hosts wander the residence. Some will ignore you, others will attack, and they might have the same faces.
Be prepared to dodge attacks at any time in a bizarre game of bullet hell.
One of these hosts has taken a key with them. A key for a chest. A chest with tools that can get rid of a certain parasite. Find that host, follow close and wait until they grow up and drop it.
Be careful, "growing up" is not a metaphor here...
>Varied horrible consequences
So you just got some tools. The thing is... this place doesn't have doctors.
6 different consequences of trying to remove your parasite by yourself await you. Can you find the least horrible one?
