[ 2022-10-03 10:53:15 CET ] [ Original post ]
Hey Test Subjects, We've been hard at work on Speed is Key for a while now (all be it without much communication) but after months of hard work, we've created a demo for the Steam Next Fest! It's out now, and you can play it and provide feedback to us, which will help shape the final game! If you've already finished the demo, tell us what you think through the feedback form in the pause menu, and if you enjoyed it, feel free to wishlist the game and join our discord server as well! We hope you enjoy! Cheers! - DanteG, lead dev + artist at Optimal Games

Speed is Key is a tough, fast-paced precision platformer where, well... speed is key.
Play as a robot... cyborg... whatever, who has woken up in a test capsule. Upon being freed, you are tested by a TV with a face on it. Tested on what, exactly? How fast you can dodge, how fast you can kill, and how fast you can go. After all... speed is key.
The controls are easy to learn, but hard to master. The only thing you need to know is that you can move left and right, you can jump, and you can wall jump. Simple... right?
- Story-driven single player platformer where a T.V tests you on how fast you can avoid hazards (both environmental and man-made... or is it man-made?)
- Around 300 levels, with new mechanics thrown in every few levels
- Boss fights! Everyone loves boss fights... right?
- Level editor (or at least that's what is planned)
- Pretty cool music
- Multiple endings, which change depending on how fast you go
- No secrets at all...
MINIMAL SETUP
- OS: No idea
- Processor: I think any processor will do
- Graphics: I think any graphics card will do
