I was sorta planning to put this off until Kuu-chat but hey I was gonna need to figure this stuff out sooner or later so here you go! I was actually surprised how easy it was.. for some reason I thought you needed a certain number of sales before you could add them but here we are. The game should automatically apply the achievements you've already completed when you start a new game (after the opening cutscene). If you find any bugs or have any suggestions for any other achievements I should add do let me know! Till then thank you so much everyone for playing! You make it all worth while steamthumbsup
Yesterday it came to my attention that Dere-chan was in fact using the wrong bust size for the Dere-chat game. Despite staying up till 2am to correct the issue I fear that the damage has been done.. too many people have already been subjected to the incorrectly proportioned Dere-chan and for this I am so sorry.. Okay but seriously this was just a minor fix for something I've somehow missed for a while as well as a few basic text gramma/formatting fixes.
Flat is Justice, Medium is Premium, Oppai is truth
Things are looking pretty good with Dere-chat for the moment so I'll be moving back to working on Wifu-Box for a little while. Do let me know if there is anything you'd like to see added to the game or if you spot any other bugs I've missed! this update includes:
- Click text while it's still going finishes it instead of skipping to the next dialogue.
- Back button is working (it wont be available if a player or wifu has made a decision)
- Added a "Factory reset" to the title settings page.
The build itself wasn't much hassle.. getting it up on steam on the other had took a bit of figuring out. On that note while testing we did have an instance of the steam client not being able to find the executable so if that happens to you or even if it just works on it's own please let me know! I'd very much like to figure out what if anything is going wrong here..
So far as launches go Dere-chat has been shockingly smooth.. Still there were a few minor bugs that have been fixed in this update. Thanks again to everyone who reported bugs over on our discord, you have been a huge help Things this update fixes:
- Startup sound too high (I'm embarrassed how long this took me T^T)
- End-cutscene dialogue button freezes end-cutscene.
- Fix hotbar icon (was Unity default)
- Removed dev dialogue helper (numbers in bottom right of text box)
- Some minor spelling errors
- Wifu button doesn't appear when Fox skin unlocks
Wow the release so far has been surprisingly smooth! Aside from just a few minor bugs/spelling errors (I'm working on fixes right now!) everything seems to have worked out pretty well! steamthumbsup
Thank you so much to everyone who has already played the game, I've been positively blown away by your enthusiasm! I hope I can live up to it
As soon as the launch fixes are uploaded I'll be working on building the Linux version which hopefully won't take too long. The only real problem seems to be the cutscene format, linux-unity only has a few that work of the box
Anyway, back to coding! Thanks again everyone, it's been an amazing launch day already and it's all thanks to you!!
I'm so very excited to publicly announce the very first title in the Wifu-Box series will be dropping on May 5th (or 6th of May if you're with me in the Asia-pacific timezones)!
This visual novel-style game introduces Dere-chan, one of the five main characters in the Waifu-Sim game I'm developing. The idea for this game is to try and flesh out ideas for the characters and to try and get some real commercial feedback/practice as a game developer.
Again, thank you so much everyone for your support and encouragement. This is my first solo game project I've released so I'm sorry if it's a little bumpy at the start but I'm 100% sure that with your support the future of Wifu-Box is going to be bright indeed!
And for anybody who missed the event cards this will be your last chance to collect the special outfit unlock codes! No really, after this you'll have to wait a whole year to save them again (or just message me, I'm not stingy..).
Oh and lastly Linux support IS COMMING! Though it may not be in time for the main release day it won't be far behind!
Happy headpetting everybody! <3
