Last week, we finished retiring AI Dungeon on Steam. We announced this change in our August 2023 blog post that you can read here. The process took a while to finalize, but weve now completed the necessary steps to delist the app. This means it is no longer downloadable by new players, and it will not appear on the Steam store in search or any recommendation sections. If you have already downloaded this version of AI Dungeon, you retain ownership of the game and can still play it here on Steam. We will continue to support the servers beneath it so those who prefer playing through this version can, but we can not guarantee a bug-free experience or that our regular app updates will be available. Remember: If you purchased AI Dungeon on Steam (when it was a paid download) or paid for the Traveler tier upgrade, you get to keep ALL of your benefits. The Steam purchases upgrade your entire AI Dungeon account, and those benefits like larger context, faster AI speeds, and Advanced Settings can still be enjoyed on web, iOS, or Android. We have a new blog post outlining upcoming plans for AI Dungeon. We will be focused on stability efforts over the next couple of months that will get AI Dungeon ready for some new features (like Story Styles) and a design refresh. New Login System: We have fully rolled out a new login system based on Firebase (backed by Google), to solve some of the ongoing issues with login, especially on Android devices. In this new system, players will now need to authenticate using email (we cant support username login anymore). We have also ended support of Steam login. Steam purchases can still be linked to your AI Dungeon account to verify the purchase, and your Steam benefits can still be enjoyed on all platforms you use.

We recently updated our Authentication process, which requires Steam users to set a new password. Please follow this link to update your password: https://voyageplay.ai/account/forgotPassword. While your Steam account will still be linked with your AI Dungeon account, you will need to login with your email + password moving forward. We are excited to announce that you can now generate custom artwork right into your stories using Stable Diffusion. Steam users can switch their image source under the art section in the settings. Not only are Stable Diffusion images hyperrealistic and accurate, but the generation times and costs will enable us to allow custom image generation in AI Dungeon adventures, unlike AI Dungeon 2D which injects images into stories from a pre-generated cache.
