So like... remember when I said Cryptid Coffeehouse v3.0 was the final version of the game? Yeah, so, I LIED. Every time I try to put this game down, Artemis looks at me with big huge puppydog eyes and I'm like, "Erm.... well.... wait, but this one thing could be done..." It is today on November 15th, our sweet Artemis' birthday, that I graciously bring you all Cryptid Coffeehouse version 3.1, the true final version of the game. Genuinely, this is the version of the game Ive always wanted to share with you all, and Im so happy that I have the honor of bringing it to you all. With this update, the game now includes:
- Improved accessibility! I've updated the user interface to make it easier to find things and updated TTS/self-voicing support. Additionally, rollback has been enabled and a trusty little "back" button now lives on the quick menu!
- Bugs fixed and typos corrected! All of the weird little errors that have been brought to my attention and typos that have been spotted are now fixed! If any of you find any more let me know ;-) but I think Ive squashed most of the issues, allowing for a nice and clean play experience.
- A new character creation screen! Now, you no longer have to page through a bland choice menu of options to initialize your player character. It looks cute now! And it's functional! Yay!
- All new original Point Pleasant and System Five songs, text beeps, and sound effects! Thanks to the hard work of my awesome friend gnommen, the bands now have completely original songs. All characters have better text beeps, and all of the sound effects have been replaced with game-exclusive ones! With this sound update, all of the assets inside of cryptid coffeehouse are now original, made either by me or by friends Ive worked with. I'm so happy to have finally gotten here ;o;!!
- New supplemental images! You know how artemis talks about those polaroids with Diana when you sleep over at their house for the first time? How about when you ask them about the polaroids on their wall back in their childhood home? Yeah, well... those are illustrated now!! You can look at them!! They are so cute!!

- go around town, explore different locations, and meet sexy human versions of all your favorite cryptids and fantasy creatures
- custom pronoun options that allow you to use multiple pronoun sets as well as input your own neopronouns
- have the freedom and ability to say no to anything without it negatively impacting the characters' view of you or the story itself, creating a comfortable and welcoming experience
- see your relationship with artemis grow and progress over the course of ten weeks and get to choose what kind of physical contact you have with them
- about 88,000 words and 3-5 hours of playtime
- i'll be real, it's a lot of pointing and clicking and reading but it's fun! it's a queer slow burn coffee shop au like what's not to love!!!!!
cryptid coffeehouse is a very casual, slice-of-life type of game about living in the midwest, meeting new people, and developing feelings for someone. it's a game about relationships and the importance of consent, permission, and respect in those relationships, especially relationships that are between stages. and, as corny as it sounds, it's a game about being yourself.
