Hey everyone, this one is a bit of a bigger one. This update introduces a community requested feature (currently in experimental state) and a bit of small quality of live improvements and smaller changes. This patch also introduces a new music pack, featuring ReeK / Asatsumei.
Reek is a German EDM producer mostly known for his his non-genre-specific and intense tracks. Three songs introduced in this pack provide a lot of variety, but they have one thing in common, they're fast. These songs are:
Rave Party (ft. L4hee) - https://soundcloud.com/reek_wobs/rave-party-ft-l4hee
Galaxy Collision - https://soundcloud.com/reek_wobs/reek-galaxy-collision-from-thx-for-xx-years
A Day At The Arcade - https://soundcloud.com/reek_wobs/reek-a-day-at-the-arcade-from-cynthetic-collective-retrogenisis
Map set accompanying these bangers is the most difficult one in Twin Edge by quite a margin. These maps will feature complex patterns, fast streams and [REDACTED]. You probably won't beat them on your first try... I suggest getting used to them with No-Fail or Easy mutators enabled.
Changelog:
- Waveform in the Timing section of the editor now has 8 times as much detail, which should make timing easier. (sometimes the ending of a song doesn't match the audio perfectly, but the rest of the song should be still good).
- Added an experimental new feature to the editor. Experimental because there are and will be bugs and/or unintended behaviour with it. Currently the only known bug is putting parts of that feature before the first note in a map breaks the game a little bit.
- Rotation speed limits changed from 30-200 to 10-400.
- If the first color transition is an instant (0 second) one, the song will start from the beginning with that color instead.
- Menu mouse cursor has been changed, because the previous one was too similar to one particular circle clicking game and didn't serve the same purpose.
- Bottom timeline in the editor now offsets depending on the song offset.
- Note timeline (the one where you edit the actual song) now culls note visuals less aggressively. In non technical terms there will be no more beat lines disappearing when they should be visible.
- If the first object in the map (an event, a note or [REDACTED]) is more than 10 seconds in, an option appears to skip that wait period.
- (Bugfix) Fixed a break happening in the middle of a hold note when there was a hold end and a hold start on the same millisecond.

Hey, sorry for the hiatus but college got a bit busy, hopefully I can come back to regular updates for Twin Edge. In this one I've collaborated with Ninoo (Soundcloud link) to bring you a new music pack with 4 new songs. All of these songs are from the Pattern (The Remixes) EP, you can listen to them individually here:
This update also comes with small bugfixes.[ 2023-02-22 18:26:27 CET ] [ Original post ]
Hey! I've teamed up with my good friend Wayfarer Games to host a small competition with prizes!
Both of our games are very circular in nature so it was just a matter of time we did something together.
Get the highest score on BOTH the Polyfury leaderboard and Twin Edge in the free demo!
The highest combined score on the free demos for Polyfury and Twin Edge will win:
Game keys for both Polyfury and Twin Edge
Polyfury beta access
1 month Discord Nitro
A pizza (https://wayfarer-games.com/pizzaterms)
The runner up will win:
Polyfury beta access
1 month Discord Nitro
To enter, you MUST provide a screenshot of the results screen for both Polyfury and Twin Edge and upload it to #competition-entries on the Twin Edge Discord.
IMPORTANT! The only scores that count are from the Pentagon boss in Polyfury and from the Helblinde - Solace of Oblivion song in Twin Edge.
Final score is calculated by simple addition - your Polyfury score plus your Twin Edge score is your final score.
The competition ends Monday, 28th of November, 17:00 CEST!
The free demo for Polyfury is available on Steam and Xbox
The free demo for Twin Edge is available on Steam
(If you don't want to download the demo if you already have the full game, I've added a Competition Demo branch which you can change to in Right Click Twin Edge -> Properties -> Betas -> "Select the beta..." -> competitiondemo)

Hey everyone! Since the release I've been working on a couple stuff and I'm ready to showcase them in this patch! Game:
- Quick restart key now shows a circle which fills and restarts if it's fully filled
- You can now press esc in the menu to close floating windows (such as the achievement window)
- End screen now shows mutators used in the play
- Skin preview in the shop now resets to current equipped skins if you quit and reenter the shop (previously it kept the skins you were previewing)
- Hold release has slightly bigger timing window leniency now
- Added a setting for muting audio when the game is in the background
- Added a setting for toggling whether hold ends play a hitsound
- Added a setting for enabling a judgement bar during the game
- Added a global scoreboard in the song pack selection screen menu
- Added an option to toggle between friends only and global scores on leaderboards (may not work if you're using nicknames for friends on steam)
- Song pack menu now correctly shows last pack played every time
- Accuracy display during gameplay with No Hold now shows accurate values
- Cursor particles with a cursor skin shouldn't appear purple anymore
- The "ez" disc symbol shouldn't appear purple anymore
- Holding alt/ctrl/shift in the editor should work more consistently
- Ctrl clicking a single selected note now unselects it if you have more selected notes
- Disabled a functionality of pasting a song event to currently selected song event, now you can only paste to event on current time, or paste to a new event if there's no event on current time
- Temp folder now gets deleted if you don't save your map and quit the editor
- A warning now shows if you try to save your map without any notes/display name/artist name/difficulty name
- If you're creating a map, and a temp folder already exists, it renames it to temp_Backup, this should in theory make it impossible to overwrite a map
- Snap/zoom levels now persist between map playtests
- Changed how the custom maps are internally loaded on native linux/mac, let me know if the mac/linux editor issues still persist
- Breaks shouldn't now create when there's a hold note in their way (requires a resave if a map already has those)
- Map setup input fields (display name, etc.) now stop shortcuts from happening while you're editing them
- Particle dropdowns load correctly now with the map, previously it all defaulted to Sprinkles when you clicked them
- Multiple selection swap sides should work better now if you're trying to swap sides of two selected notes on the same time (for example if left note is a normal note and right note is a hold start)
