Devlog update 1.0
Drones are craftable and tradable items you can send on excursions across the galaxy, to gather rare resources. There are two categories of drones: Leader drones and drone swarms.
(interface subject to change) Every excursion requires a strong leader! As your droning skill increases, you'll be able to backup your leader drones with drone swarms, but be careful because drones in a swarm are fragile! Both leaders and swarms are "enhanceable" items, so you can customize these to your hearts' content to fit your own build and playstyle. This leaves the current features list like so:

As we're getting closer to the alpha release date, I thought I'd share a little bit of what we've been working on for the past month and which features are going to make it into the alpha build. We're finalizing the last major mechanic to go into the game before we focus on feature content, balance and stability.
Drones
Drones are craftable and tradable items you can send on excursions across the galaxy, to gather rare resources. There are two categories of drones: Leader drones and drone swarms.

Visit unique locations and collect rare items, or sell them on the market for a small fortune.
Befriend NPCs and earn their trust for special progression bonuses.
Compete
Compare yourself against your peers on the leaderboards to win prizes, or maybe just for the fame.
Multiplayer
Join forces with friends, or tactically recruit your rivals, to take on high power NPCs in unique raids.
Create a group to share progression bonuses and raid passes, or play solo to leave your competition in the dust.
Gameplay
Whether you prefer an active or idle play style there are mechanics to suit both, including offline progress, passive bonuses, active skills, minigames, dungeons and more.
Quests
Progress through the optional story quests, learning more about each NPC and the Galacticorp world.
