Back with April's issue of Monthly Dev Diaries where you can read short, monthly updates on College Crazes progress. This entry is an exciting one because Ill also be releasing Chapter 7 of College Craze soon!

What can you look forward to in Chapter 7?

Were nearing the resolution of the story with discoveries and fun developments to keep you on your toes! The new chapter brings 114,534 words, 86 new CGs, 7hr+ of playtime for each route, and, depending on your choices, new characters to interact and have fun with.

Your MC will get closer to people on and off campus, which will help you find your way through the intricate and sometimes dangerous social web Sugardale plunged you into. Regardless, midterms are coming and you have to hit those books!! Youll go on dates and some of the aloof folk youve gotten to know will have you giggling and kicking up your feet when they finally open up to you (and you to them who said that?). Youll also be able to find out more about the rumored Sugarman, so get ready for all the possibilities this new chapter has in store!

As always, my suggestion is to check out the gallery to know what scenes youre missing and try to make different decisions each time. You have nearly infinite save slots to help you along, so youre able to get information from as many different people as possible.

Remember that streamer mode censors visuals and dialogues but it does not filter out audio. So when you hear Stalker-chans or Deans voice, mute it if you don't want to hear spicy things!

Hi everyone,

Im excited to let you all know Im fully done with creating the next chapter!! Woooo, I know it has been a rocky road but Im so incredibly happy to have reached this point, thank you so so much for all of you who shared nice words and supported me while working through everything!

I sent the game to all string one testers already, so when I get the game through the second round of testing (probably a week/two from today), I'll be dropping release dates for Chapter 7.

Hi, everyone!

This past month I worked on CGs for the game and got 3 new ones completed!

2023 is coming to a close and I would like to take some time to communicate with you all. I know Ive been very absent, and the game has been stuck in a limbo as a result. Compared to previous years, the games progress is a lot slower. I apologize for not being transparent about all of this sooner, you all deserve to be in the loop more about these things and how they impact the progress of the game. Please understand that it was not for any light reason.

Im a very different person than I was at the start of this year, and my life is currently in a very different place than when I started this game. This year in particular has put me through so many life changes and challenges, and I mean it when I say it will not ever go back to how it was before. Life really blindsided me in more ways than one. I was very fortunate to have the time and safety and stability I did to work at a consistent pace before, but because of the things that have happened, I cannot realistically aim to produce like I had before.

And that sucks.

Because I see the support and love and excitement you all have for this, and I want to achieve and exceed those expectations like I used to, but I cant.

Throughout the year, I have worked on the game, though its been less of a priority. I cant make promises about dates or timelines because outside of the game, life is incredibly unstable. There was an entire month this year where I felt like Id gotten bad news every single day and I had no idea where I physically would be, let alone have time or mental energy to work on things.

And I dont mean to make this a big pity party, apologies if it sounds that way. My aim is to illustrate the fact that Im overwhelmed and unsure of a lot of things right now. While I have no idea when the next chapter will be out, I do know a few things.

1. I will finish creating this game, and have decided that Chapter 8 will be the final chapter for it. It wont be as robust as I always envisioned it being, but for now it's the best course of action. I can always go back at a later point and add to it when Im stable.

2. Chapter 7 is already fully written/coded. I am currently making final edits/posing and working on artwork. Ive been working on this for a while now and would really like to have this out soon. I know you all are eager to see it soon too.

3. I will continue making progress when I can, but I can no longer promise a release cadence or schedule. If I do decide to pause working on the game entirely I will let you all know. I personally dont consider this a hiatus, just a slow down, though this could be interpreted differently.

4. The support from this community has been incredible, and I couldnt have asked for a better group of people to see what Im doing and accept it so enthusiastically. I never thought this game would get as much love as it did when I first released the demo, but Im so happy it had. Thank you all for sharing it with your friends, talking about it in Discord, participating in events, interacting on socials, being patrons and making fan art. In this dark space, its truly a light that I hold dearly. Thank you.

5. This community and the operations of my Patreon and the Discord would be nothing without the hard work and support from my mods, admin, and merch artists. Thank you Angel, Ageha, Satan, Cinaruco, NicolasCrab, Giovanna and SketchyInk. You all have held up the fort while my world was flipped upside down.

Its been a heavy year, and I am hopeful 2024 brings some peace and calm. I look forward to wrapping things up in the coming months and hopefully finishing this game next year.

Writing for Chapter 7 is all done and the word count hits the 110,996 mark as of now! Ive been posing and working on edits for the first 90k words or so. Im going at a really good pace now that the words are down and I can see how all the events play out. Been going back and forth between editing and making art for the CGs these past couple of weeks.

Hi everyone, welcome to another dev diary entry where you can get all the updates for College Crazes progress!

May was release month and Im very grateful to everyone who supported the development and release of Chapter 6, it was a successful launch thanks to everyone so I want to give you a big big thank you! Reading the Discord discussions and how much fun people are having with the new developments has been the highlight of the past few weeks.

I also released a new checklist to unlock all scenes from Chapter 6 this week so you can find your way around the different routes!

I used to split the guides into different documents to mainly show sexual scenes but this version will also show you how to increase metrics in certain routes and how to unlock non-sexual (but still juicy) scenes.

I currently have **66,756 words for Chapter 7** that were written from before the release for the current chapter. I still have a two and a half more main in-game events and three more minor days to write. I need to add a few things to round out this chapter and make it feel more whole for the different branches.

Ive been editing, reviewing and writing before I can move on to finishing the art for Chapter 7s CGs.

Back with April's issue of Monthly Dev Diaries where you can read short, monthly updates on College Crazes progress. This is a special entry because Im also sharing the announcement of Chapter 6 of College Craze being launched!

What can you look forward to in Chapter 6

Chapter 6 will have a big in-game day, it includes 110k+ words, 70 new CGs, new characters and sprites for existing characters, and two voice-acted appearances by @VonNecros and @thedomphotog that vary depending on previous choices.

The average play time is 5hr+ for one route play through, so you can have a lot of fun replaying the different plot lines! Plot-wise, youll have plenty of shifting emotions during Parents Weekend and wild times during off-campus outings. Youll be able to advance romantically with some characters and wreak havoc in the lives of others. Your decisions on the donor dinner will have a big impact on this new update, are you ready for whats coming?

People whove played before are familiar with this but it bears repeating for new folks, not all plot points can be seen in a single playthrough because your choices significantly alter the narrative and resulting situations. Remember there are shortcuts explained on the games load screen in addition to the skip system to help players who want to do multiple playthroughs get through content theyve already seen quicker.

That being said, here are the following dates for the release of Chapter 6 for my patrons:

As Ive been dealing with a family emergency, my progress the past few weeks has been very slow. Ive decided to divide the content I originally planned for Chapter 6 into two chapters, so youll be getting Chapter 6 sooner (yay!) and Ill have nearly all of Chapter 7 written for the upcoming update, just some extra details to flesh out and polish. So Chapter 7 should be out a lot sooner than anticipated as well.

I got the year off to an intense start and February has not been different. My focus has been more on writing and fleshing out the different club plot points, developing relationships with characters that hadnt received as much of a spotlight until now. Its been a productive few months, writing, editing, and posing, content for v6! The current word count is sitting at 84,921 words for this update. I've been going at a steady pace with creating CGs, currently with 43 completed, and a new character created as well! I've taken the new approach of editing and posing as I write, so that it's not all left to the end, to save time.

In other news, I've rolled out some more merch for my higher tier patrons. In addition to the postcard they get each month from characters, they also receive College-Craze themed stickers, at no additional cost. If you're interested, consider joining at the Junior tier and up! I've also released the Interviews for Jace and Professor McGregor, so be sure to check those out as well!

Its been a productive month, editing, posing, and polishing v5! In typical Pretty Ink fashion, I added a few more lines and interactions after editing, pushing the word count to ~118K. Testing has also gone smoothly. The first wave brought on a hefty number of bugs, but they were all very simple to squash, so Im confident the build will be good and ready by the release dates!

Patrons at the Alumni & Dropout tiers will get access on Nov 1st, Seniors & Juniors on Nov 8th, and Sophomores on Nov 15th. As I mentioned last month, there wont be any more free/public updates, so if you cant wait, consider supporting in November. Otherwise, the games full release is slated for Summer 2023.

In other news, the Fall Fanworks Fest on Discord has been a roaring success! Congrats to the winners, and thank you to all of those who have participated! Ill be back to posting bonus content for Patrons in November, so look forward to Gabes postcard and Inkspot Interview as well as other Lore Posts.

First things first, there will be no more free updates. I gave Early Access a good old college try, but this test run has ultimately shown it does not align with my project goals and the payment structure would be too difficult to implement across two platforms. You get the gist of the game with what is publicly available now, so if you like what youve played, please consider supporting. Im aiming to wrap up the game in Summer 2023, so feel free to wait until then if you just wanna purchase the whole thing in one fell swoop here on Steam. Ill continue to post monthly updates for posterity, and so you can be assured, the game is not dead/abandoned!

Now, for the update

Writing is complete for the next update, so October will be all about art and editing. V5 is totaling ~111K words. Since the word count has already surpassed that of v4, Ive cut my original outline in half and will save the remainder of it for a future update. V5 will encompass a weeks worth of content, with 2 major event days, and multiple sex scenes (as usual). A rough tally of the total word count puts the entire game roughly 9k words under the word count of the Lord of the Rings which Im shocked, horrified, and proud of.


As for artwork, Ive finished 1 new character sprite, 3 CGs, and 1 BG all on Discord streams. I have about 47 more CGs to go, but that number may change after editing is done.


In other news, this months bonus content was super fun to do! I launched the first postcard in a 5-card series, sat down with Jay for an Inkspot Magazine interview and did a lore post on Pink Vibe. Were also running a fanworks festival on Discord starting October 1st, so if youre interested in learning more about how to participate, check out my Discord for more details!

This month, Ive written ~37K words and 4.4K lines of code. Its ambitious, but my goal is to have the scope of v5 span over 12 days. There will be time skips, but the heart of the update will be the Donor Dinner which is about halfway done. Its a beast with lots of branching, so I expect to keep working on it well into Sept before moving on.

Ive also had a lot of fun writing bonus content for Patrons this month including a lore post! There will be a character Q&A going on soon, so comment any burning questions you have for the cast! Depending on who it is, they may or may not give you a straight answer, but some of the highlights will be posted on Twitter

As for artwork, Ive finished 2 new character sprites and 6 CGs. I streamed some of what I did this month for Patrons on Discord. Theres a public, non-spoiler stream on Wed, Aug 31st, so feel free to drop in and join the fun on Discord.

I am still thinking through ways to marry the Patreon model with Steam and how it's currently set up, but I don't have any concrete answers on how the release schedule will be on this platform at this time.
