After years of toiling behind the scenes on both the Fogtown TV series and the game, were finally able to reveal some screenshots and talk about our new title: A Rum Case in Fogtown!
We also have a demo thats just a few days away from debuting at the Adventure Game Fan Fair this weekend, which will (eventually SOON!) make its way online for all to try, once weve ensured it plays nicely across a wide range of systems.
A Rum Case in Fogtown is a mystery/comedy prequel to the Fogtown TV series, taking place in the early days of Sherblock & Blocksons partnership. When a mysterious saboteur strikes their favorite pub (upending the livelihood of its beloved proprietor), our lads leap into action to find the culprit or perhaps they do a terrible job and end the game in hilariously premature fashion your choice, players!
Gameplay is entirely FMV-based, with frequent choices that shape your experience: some with far-reaching consequences, and some just with fun bits of flavor that personalize your playthrough. Due to all the branching possibilities, we like to think of it as a highly replayable experience, but for those who just like to complete games once, were confident the story will be satisfying either way.
Well have more to share in the coming weeks, but in the meantime we just wanted to spruce up this Steam page, reveal the game title, and thank you for your interest in this delightfully fun little passion project of ours. So thank you! And talk soon!
Some of you have been waiting long for tangible news on Fogtown. Were pleased to announce that in the very near future, youll be able to get your hands on it yourself for a test spin!
Were thrilled to share that Fogtown is coming to the Adventure Game Fan Fair, a brand-new three day convention held in the Pacific Northwest at Tacoma's University of Washington, running July 26th-28th.

This expo is shaping up to be a total delight for adventure game developers and fans alike. Attendees will be able to meet legendary game designers Jane Jensen and Roberta Williams (plus many more heroes from the golden years of Sierra and LucasArts) in addition to getting their hands on exclusive builds of unreleased adventure games demoing for the very first time. That includes Fogtown!
If you want to attend the Fan Fair and try out Fogtown in person, tickets are limited! They can be purchased at: https://adventuregamefanfair.com/
For those unable to attend, dont despair! We plan to release the Fogtown demo to the general public at a TBD date later this year.

Our team is hard at work prepping the demo for our madcap, choice-based FMV game like no other, and cant wait to see how its received. While we arent ready to showcase the game in action just yet, we can share some recently-finished environments, sure to house mesmerizing mysteries (and potential perils).
(Dont be scared, thats not a spooky spectre in the second shot, its simply a Sherblock stand-in to support the sculpting of the scene at a suitable scale!)
We hope to see many of you at the Fan Fair. Til next time, stay foggy!
We're pleased to announce that on September 22, we'll be part of Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR. You can join us at the Weird Stage at 2pm to see a world premiere of scenes from our in-production Fogtown TV pilot, meet the creators and developers of the Fogtown game, learn more about the creative process behind how Fogtown gets made, and bother us for juicy unannounced details to your heart's content!
You can get passes for the convention at the RCCC website.
We hope to see a number of you there, and more announcements about the game will be coming soon. (Hint hint, mark your calendars for the first-ever Adventure Game Hotspot Convention in 2024...)
Lastly, if you've been craving another dose of Sherblockian shenanigans ever since our 2022 crowdfunder wrapped up, we released a pair of Fogtown shorts!
First up is a thank-you to all the lovely adventure game developers who helped spread the word about Fogtown during our 2022 crowdfunding campaign.

Second is an.... "educational" FAQ series to answer your burning questions, but don't expect to glean much straightforward information from it.

Thank you for following along, and stay foggy, friends!

FOGTOWN: Mystery of the Missing Crime is a modern take on the old-school FMV genre, and the first of its kind made with puppets. Rather than direct control over the characters, you'll regularly pick from a series of options that branch the story into fun new directions. The result is a rollicking, madcap adventure that's great for solo or group play. It's like an interactive, replayable episode of quality comedy television. (With PUPPETS! What's not to like?)
Fogtown features a voice cast of legendary adventure game actors such as Dean Erickson (Gabriel Knight himself from 1995's The Beast Within), Lenval Brown (narrator of Disco Elysium) and Rupert Booth (Inspector Jenks from Contradiction and DuPont from The Shapeshifting Detective)!
- Zany, fast-paced antics unlike any FMV game you've played
- The same quality writing from the Fogtown TV show that no one's seen yet
- Short enough to complete and then get a refund from Steam!
