Cards

Community items are published. Badges, cards, backgrounds, avatars and emoticons. For those who have played for a while, the items should be given automatically into the steam inventory. I've been resting for the last few days after intensive release weeks, making these cards, sketching out a manual in word, etc. Now I'm preparing a patch.

Small Patch 12.03.2023

- Reworked Hardcore and Normal modes - Fixed the flashback bug on the Tower. There was no any effect on its start in the latest build - Logical inaccuracy with the transition to the chapter 1 locations from the prologue and chapter 2 fixed - Some borders on some levels was added - Completely fixed the inventory issue on the last level - HUD for snow goggles was added. (It can be turned off in the HUD options menu) Some more minor fixes and additions. I remind you don't have to start a new game after updates if you don't want to. You can choose the version on which were made your saves in Beta Versions section on the game's preferences on Steam to continue playing through.

First week results

The results


So the first week after the release of the game is over. Those were incredibly emotional days. During this short period I had to do a lot of work on the game. At least one patch with fixes was released every day. But usually there were several of them per day.

Then there were patches that fixed the remaining important problems and many minor flaws. Some content was also added. English localisation has been corrected as well. I partially shared the patchnotes on the discord server: https://discord.gg/uf7F5SbFMG You can share your impressions of the game, ask your questions and report bugs there, in the Steam community or in any of my DMs that you find.

A bit about the plans


Now major updates with new content are planned.
  • New levels will be added and the old ones will be supplemented.
  • The story will be expanded.
  • New enemies, weapons and equipment will appear.
  • Some mechanics will also be improved, mainly weather and radio.
A lot has been cut out for the release, so the development of updates will not take as long as it may seem.

Your saves


They don't work on updated versions of the game due to the specifics of the GZDoom engine. [Solution] So I publish old versions of the game. You can find them in the "Beta-versions" section in Steam's game preferences. You can easily find the version on which your saves were made and continue playing on it.

First 2 days fixes

As I said earlier, the development of the game right after the release is only getting more intensified. During the first two days of the release, most of the major bugs were fixed. In the following days, more minor corrections will be introduced until the very end of the weekend. After that, I will focus on major content updates, which are also coming pretty soon.

Your saves

! Your saves for sure will be corrupted after update. So, if you don't want to update the game and lose your saves you should save your current version of the game by copying the game's folder to another place on your computer and run it from there, ignoring updates. Frequent patches are needed now. I plan to release first day fixes until the end of this weekend. After that, I will do content updates. They will be large and rare.

The Game Released

Delay.

The new release date: March 1, 2023. Although, it is absolutely not okay to do so two days before the scheduled date, but I have to delay the release. The reason is my inexperience as a developer/publisher. As you understand, this is my first Steam release, excluding the demo. And I face a lot of nuances for the first time. So, Ive sent the games build to Steam for verification too late. About Feb 12-13. Now its obvious that they just won 't check it in time. And even if they do, after that may appear problems that cannot be solved in the remaining day or two. And announcing the delay on the day of the release would be even more wrong than today. The demo, by the way, was checked in the shortest possible time, although it came out for the festival, when, the Steam administration was more loaded, I thought. So I hoped for the speed of their work. The release of the game will shift by 12 days, until March 1. In theory, I could have moved it literally for a couple of days. But, firstly, fewer people would have had time to find out about the news. Secondly, I would have had to come out under several major releases. And thirdly, it is not known how long the verification will last. Extra 12 days, I think, would be enough in any case. In general, the news is extremely unpleasant, but there is no other way. On the other hand, A lot of content that Ive planned to add with updates after the release, will be in the game already at the start. Also 12 days of an extra polishing and tests will be really good for the quality of the game. In general, the new release date is March 1 (19:00 PST-time).

Demo Update. Hardcore

-Hardcore implies on checkpoints. After load you will spawn at the last active checkpoint. Even though, your saved progress will not be lost after that. -In both modes(Hardcore and Normal) you will lose the points of your maximum health after each death. However, you can recover that. -The flashlight on the Overpass-level was fixed. Now it warks there. -Has been added a new item. -Were fixed a radio control bug. Before the player was able to control a cassette-block(by pressing arrow-keys) even after exiting the radio-menu. It made a keyboard-view impossible when radio turned on. -Fixed a hardtack exploit. Now you can't drop it from your inventory. -Transition between levels is more smooth now. Other changes and small additions. On the picture is an old game's cover-image. It was on game's page on Steam before the ~March 2022 :)

! game World:

Several large-scale man-made disasters in a row plunged the Earth into agony. The remnants of humanity are forced to lead a hard life on scraps of surviving land among the debris of the past World.

As a player you will have to go through a difficult path, overcoming the dangerous trials of the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

gameplay:

Apocalyptic Vibes – is a first-person shooter with non-linear narrative.

On the way you will meet many opponents and exciting battles. You will have to use your arsenal of weapons more than once.

Plunging into the world of the game, you have to explore abandoned places: towns, villages, factories and facilities, skeletons of buildings and waste-grounds.

On your trek, you will face to the harsh conditions of post-apocalyptic weather: toxic precipitation, storms, fogs and optical phenomena. Special devices will help you to overcome them.

The more inclement weather outside the window, the more comfortable it is in the shelter and the more acutely the romanticism of the post-apocalypse is felt. Sometimes, during the next toxic pouring rain or suffocating radioactive fog, it is better to stay under the roof, surrounded by the warm light of kerosene lamps and the steady hum of the air filter. At such moments, you can start preparing for the next foray or, for example, do "radio stalking", tuning the special device to open and encoded radio frequencies in search of information, music, images, video or dialogue.

The game is powered by GZDoom, the modern port of the classic Doom engine.
The visual style of the game is combines a realism and elements of the classic graphics such as sprites.
