The Adamello Expansion is OUT NOW with a Free Weekend!
After some time in the sun, we make our way back to the top of the Alps. Here, the Italians advance for the Austro-Hungarian position at Cima Presena at a height of 3000 meters if the weather allows it. Thats not everything however. Two new weapons enter the fray, Ascent makes its long-awaited return and everyone gets to try everything for free during the Isonzo Free Weekend on Steam and PlayStation! Theres a lot to unpack, so lets get right into it. [previewyoutube=6UgxFOIgB-0;full][/previewyoutube][hr][/hr]
Before we get into the new and returning content, were super excited to announce that Isonzo is free to play for everyone on Steam & PlayStation until Monday, November 18th! Whether youve been meaning to give the game a go or are looking to introduce your friends (or foes) to Isonzo, this is the perfect time! All non-DLC content is available, including everything in this update.
The Italians launched a large-scale assault on the Presena Glacier held by Austro-Hungarian. Attacking from multiple angles, the Italians swiftly captured the forward positions of Zigolon and Marocarro. Cima Presena proved to be a bit more difficult as the Austro-Hungarian defenses were solid. Thats where you come in!
Now, as you might be able to imagine, the alpine weather at an altitude of 3000 meters is a force to be reckoned with. This battle was extremely cold and snow storms were frequent. During winter, the weather got so bad and the snow so thick that fighting simply became impossible. The battle may have been between two armies, but theres truly no foe like the weather: nessun nemico come il tempo.
In Isonzo, Adamello features three distinct lanes, two of which have you plough through the snowy trenches to get to where you need to be. The third lane has you fight on the other side of the ridge, where you really need to watch your step if you value your life. For the finale, all three lanes merge into a large open area with very little cover. The Austro-Hungarians are defending the peak and the Italians will need to climb to it!
The Adamello Expansion includes two new weapons, an impact grenade for the Italians and a rifle for the Germans? Surprise! Yes, the German Empire gets its hands on the Artillery Luger this update. Its a variant of the Luger P08 frequently used by the Stotruppen, filling the role of a lightweight rifle or carbine. It features an extended barrel, shoulder stock with a holster and a Trommelmagazin with a whopping 32 round capacity. Regardless of these modifications however, its still a pistol: its low power makes it not as reliable as a rifle and damage drops off quickly over longer ranges. You can find the Artillery Luger among the main weapons of the Engineer and Assault classes! The Italians get the Petardo Offensivo P.O., a late-war redesign of a French grenade. It wasn't that powerful, but very noisy, which made it ideal for provoking fear in the enemy. In Isonzo, the P.O. is a relatively low-powered grenade that explodes the moment it hits something, be it the ground, an enemy or an ally. If you do hit an ally with this impact grenade, they wont be damaged. If youre in the blast radius as well however, you may be less safe! Its available to the Rifleman, Engineer and Assault classes.
[previewyoutube=qYpI6wixcfc;full][/previewyoutube] Ascent makes its return and we know youre excited to get back to climbing! This limited-time game mode has the Italians grapple up the rocky cliffside of Marmolada using ice picks and rope to get to the objective at the top. The Austro-Hungarians are defending the summit and will need to defeat the Italians with the limited ammo they have though when in a pinch, a rock aided by gravity will leave a lasting impact as well. For more information about Ascent, be sure to check out the original announcement: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1556790/view/4187858160677938414 The Ascent event is available on all platforms until November 26th, 10 AM CET. Be sure to give it a go, as theres an achievement up for grabs!
Theres a short list of other changes this update, including support for some of the new PS5 Pro enhancements.

World War One expands to the mountains of the Italian Front - beautiful but deadly in equal measure. Inspired by the two year struggle for control of the Isonzo river valley and the Alps during World War One, Isonzo elevates the WW1 Games Series, figuratively and literally.
From the makers of Verdun and Tannenberg …
The new Offensive game mode puts you right in the middle of key historical offensives on the Italian Front. Lead the charge across stunning Italian landscapes as you choose your path to victory - cut paths through barbed wire, flank your enemies by following mountain trails, or man a mortar to blast a way through. Shape a dynamic battlefield by laying sandbags and wire, placing ammo crates, deploying trench periscopes or sniper shields, and more.
Take part in historical offensives from the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo to the Strafexpedition. Reflecting the course of the actual battles, as the attackers advance the fighting will shift through vastly different landscapes within a single offensive: from hillside fortresses to mountain trenches and fierce urban combat on city streets. Everything is recreated based on research and field trips, from sound effects and uniforms down to the houses, vineyards and trenches you’ll be fighting over.
Call in support with a unique historically accurate flare system: flare guns can mark targets for artillery or biplane flybys, or different colored flares can be used to guide your team. Once the big guns have softened up the enemy, finish the job at close quarters with an Arditi dagger or mountaineer’s pickaxe. Man heavy machine guns, mortars and even mountain guns for more direct fire support.
Choose from six classes based on historical combat roles and build your loadout from a selection of weapons, equipment and perks linked to that class, giving flexibility and variety while staying grounded in what real soldiers might have carried. You’ll be operating wire cutters, bandaging yourself and wounded teammates, and blowing the whistle to start an assault. One shot can kill and even lighter injuries can lead to quickly bleeding out.
Being an effective soldier in Isonzo is not just about being a good marksman. Mastering the terrain is also key - the mountain can be a friend or foe. Learn how to navigate well to maintain cover and surprise your enemies or support your allies.
Finally… watch out for the dreaded poison gas. You’ve never experienced WW1 action quite like this!
Isonzo key features include:
More Games in the Authentic WW1 Game Series
Immerse yourself in more WW1 action with our other standalone titles Tannenberg and Verdun. Experience trench warfare on the Western Front in Verdun, or maneuver for control of key sectors in Tannenberg on the Eastern Front. These authentic WW1 shooters let players choose from a range of squads from across the war, as they fight for control of the ever-changing frontlines.
