This update serves to test a small rework to ammo. In this new version, ammo refills at triple speed while standing still. |
As part of Remote Play Together 2024, the latest alpha version of Geared for Fear is out now for everyone. Compared to the previous playtest, version 0.7.0 delivers a new car, major performance improvements and other enhancements. In total, this preview contains:
The current plan is, to keep the playtest running for at least another half a year. |
Update 0.6.0 delivers a new map. The image below compares this map (right) to what came before (left). |
The playtest now features one more vehicle. Gameplay-wise, it should be fully-functional, though the muzzle flash has a tendency to not show up. The update also contains performance optimizations. |
This update is should drastically improve performance. There are also some fixes, but no new content. Update 0.5.0 will add a new vehicle, coming in August. |
Geared for Fear is now available in form of a playtest. Keep in mind, that the game is still in alpha, with severe performance issues and many missing features. |
We are now in the New Year and 2023 will be a rather special year for this game. If everything goes according to plan, the game will launch in Early Access this year. Even the full release might happen in 2023. Despite that, the game will not be part of the Steam Next Fest in February. A game can only participate in one Steam Next Fest and the event takes place multiple times a year. The closer Geared for Fear is to release, the more content can be included in the event demo, so it is worth waiting for a later festival. |
