• Improved RUSH Mode. After defeating a boss, you can now choose one reward from three options:
  • Increase the Item Indicator by 1;
  • Additional Medal corresponding to the defeated boss;
  • Ability to choose the next encounter's enemy at random, making it easier to farm specific Medagliemax (excluding bosses).
• Enhanced audio options in the Settings menu. A dedicated menu can now be opened to adjust the volume of music and sound effects.
• Added an indicator for stat increases/decreases when using combat techniques with stat-altering effects.
• Added an indicator for the remaining turns of currently applied status effects in battle.
• Added a character level indicator when viewing the victory screen.
• Mana is no longer consumed if an attack fails due to a status effect such as paralysis/freeze.
• Updated and improved some combat technique descriptions.
• Added an animation related to the Super Heart turn indicator.
• The Super Heart will no longer charge if the attack fails.

• Fixed an issue where activating Royal Guardian Kael's (Amyna) skill caused the game to freeze without passing to the next turn during the battle with Royal Guardian Aehtra, forcing the player to close and reopen the game.
• Fixed an issue related to the visual damage indicator. After defeating an enemy, it would still attack after the victory screen was displayed.
• Fixed an issue with the background in the RUSH mode start screen, where it would not be set correctly according to the day/night cycle preferences.

In this post, we will cover the compatibility of Dragonium Adventure on Steam Deck. We will update this guide frequently to ensure that all players can play without issues on Steam Deck, aiming to minimize the steps required. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Dragonium Adventure has not yet been officially verified by Valve on Steam Deck, but this doesnt mean it cant be played perfectly without issues! Just follow these three small steps, and you'll be ready to launch the game.

How to play Dragonium Adventure on Steam Deck

In the main menu of Steam Deck or your Steam library, select Dragonium Adventure to enter the game page.

Select the button with the gear-shaped icon to open Steam's "Properties..." for the game.

In the side menu, select "Compatibility". Make sure the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" box is checked, and select a version of Proton from the dropdown menu. The version we recommend is Proton 9.0-3 or higher. Older versions may not work properly.

Why is this process necessary?

If you own a Steam Deck, you may already have heard of Steam Play and Proton in particular. Proton is a compatibility tool that allows applications developed for other operating systems to run on Linux and SteamOS, the operating system used by Steam Deck. Before deciding to use Proton, we attempted to develop a native Linux build, but it experienced some performance issues, such as longer initial loading times (estimated to be more than double compared to the Windows version, even with Proton) and save data compatibility with Steam Cloud. One of our priorities has always been to allow save data transfer between devices so that you can resume your game exactly where you left off on another device, such as your home PC. Since most Steam Deck owners also have a primary PC, we made Steam Cloud one of our priorities for the Linux version. Proton solved both issues: loading times were halved, and save data cloud syncing with Steam Cloud works perfectly. The only requirement for the user is to select a Proton version in the game settings on Steam before launching the game. At the moment, it is not possible to launch the game on Steam Deck without first selecting a Proton version. The game will not start, and it will return to the game page in the Steam library after a few seconds, without showing any errors. We have already contacted Valve and are awaiting their response to understand how to proceed. All we would need is to set a default Proton version at game launch, avoiding this step for users and allowing them to simply download the game and launch it directly. We are proud to present you the first update of the free DEMO version of Dragonium Adventure available now on Steam! In this updated version, you will be able to play the first 5 levels of the game's story mode, but with a twist! In fact, new combat techniques have been added and statuses have been introduced, such as paralysis and freezing!
Statuses can be inflicted on enemies with some special combat techniques: Boltstorm can inflict paralysis, while Cryoblast can inflict freezing.
These two statuses are quite similar, they don't allow the opponent to attack for a few turns in case the technique takes effect. However, the effect is not always guaranteed, and sometimes even using a technique that inflicts status on the opponent may not hit as expected!
As for Cryoblast, it can freeze the opponent for a few turns less than the paralysis inflicted by Boltstorm. However, if the opponent is frozen and a Fire element technique is used, the opponent will no longer be frozen and will be dealt double damage during the attack!
