- There's about 20 new puzzles, plus some tweaks to existing puzzles.
- There's several new body parts to build your contestant with: a couple new bodies, some more eyes, and a new mouth.
- The game now detects the size of your display, and offers whatever window sizes it can that will fit. (Users of 4k monitors no longer have to suffer with tiny windows!)
- There's now a CRT option, for those of us who somehow have fond memories of 50-60 pound monitors :P
This random & unexpected update contains:
- A small handful of new puzzles.
- A few words added to a few existing puzzles.
- Updates to underlying packages and runtimes, which make vague promises of across-the-board performance and security improvements and ensure the continued functioning of Word x Word on modern hardware.
There was a rare case where a computer player would really want to spin for letters, even when there were no letters left for it to spin for, resulting in the AI eternally trying to hit its disabled "SPIN" button, locking the game until you just closed it! I had already attempted to prevent this, but apparently not well enough, SO: I added some extra sanity checks that should (hopefully) once-and-for-all prevent that from happening! Sorry about that!
- There's now an Easy AI setting! Until you win at least one game, you can only play against Easy AI. After winning a game, you can choose your difficulty setting. (If you've won a game before this update, you'll be able to choose difficulty levels immediately.)
- Removed the CPU intro line "Doesn't know the meaning of "difficulty setting"." :P
- Spaces, numbers, dashes, and apostrophes are now allowed in character names! (You can always edit your character before a game, including their name.)
- Added roughly 50 more puzzles to the game!
- WASD controls can no longer be used. (It just didn't work well in places where you choose a letter: after spinning, or picking a vowel.)
The AI had a couple obvious weaknesses in its gameplay, which this release fixes... along with a couple more minor things:
- AI will now consider its opponent's board, when attempting to solve the puzzle
- AI no longer gets stuck revealing letter tiles when it'd rather be doing something else
- Fixed a bug in puzzle generation which would rarely place unrelated words next to each other, giving the impression they formed a phrase
- Fixed a typo in two of the game's puzzles
- The game's version number is now displayed on the title screen

Search your board for blank letter tiles, vowels, points, and other goodies. When you think you've revealed enough blank tiles to form a few words, start spinning to pick letters, and rack up points!
Both players are racing to find the word (or short phrase) that's the common link between all the words on their boards. Your boards contain the same words, so don't forget to watch your opponent for even more clues!
The first player to guess the word wins the round!
Word x Word contains hundreds of puzzles, with variations to keep you thinking for thousands of games!
