The native Linux version of Garden in! has been updated to the latest version (the same as the Windows one). There is a known issue where the mouse cursor, instead of changing its graphic based on the item its hovering, will disappear. To make it reappear just press left click. We have also updated the default launch option for Linux to use the start script in the game directory instead of running the executable file directly (this could fix some Linux users not being able to run the game).

Hello gardeners! The spooky season is in full swing, there is no better time for a ghostly update! For the 1.1.0 update we have prepared a lot of cool things! We've added a new feature called the Botanical Mastery and some new things to be unlocked through it.

Botanical Mastery

After unlocking the second room, you'll get a new section inside the Trophy menu called the Botanical Mastery. Inside this section you can find the Plant of the day and the Themed Packs. You can select which Themed Pack you want to unlock and each point you get by growing a plant, will slowly add up and help you unlock new plants and decorations! You can change at any time which Themed Pack you are currently unlocking, so don't be overwhelmed! Take your time and unlock everything!
Plant of the day Each day everyone will get a new Plant of the day. If you plant the seed and let it grown, you will get some additional points when it's fully grown! But remember, this bonus is applied to the first five seedling you plant this way. Cottagecore There is nothing better than going back to the countryside with some themed decorations.

Quality of Life

Gamepad Support Controller support has been added! You can plug your controller to your PC and it should automatically identify it and start playing comfortably. The icons should also change to reflect the fact that the controller is being used. DLSS One more thing we have done is adding the Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS for short by Nvidia (requires RTX 20-series and above) and AMD FSR. It's a small thing but can help make the game run better on lower end computers. If you don't know what this is, don't worry about it. Hello gardeners and thank you for your patience! I know we have been quiet for a while now, but a lot of things happened, and it turns out, running a videogame studio is not as easy as we thought. We're very sorry that this fix took way longer than intended; rest assured that we are still keeping a close eyes on the Steam forums for issues that arise.

Updates

- Added 10 new decorations - Added 3 new furniture items These new items are spread throughout the existing room progression , so if you've already completed the relevant rooms, you may find them already unlocked the next time you start the game. No spoilers, boot up the game and see for yourself what they are.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed a bug where the menu's context text disappear while navigating locked items. - Fixed an inventory's bug that created a page without props or furniture. - Fixed the "Master Gardener" achievement requiring an incorrect number of plants to be completed. - Fixed the "Every Single one" research displaying an incorrect amount of plants needed to be grown in the Garden. - Fixed the "Hands in the Dirt", "Head in the Clouds", "Feet in the Water" achievements not requiring all the plants of their generation to be unlocked.

Plans and Next Steps

There is more content ready to go, more plants, more furniture, new decorations and some colorful backgrounds! As a first sneak peek, this is the silhouette of one of the new plants that are coming in the update 1.1.0.

Hello and thank you for your patience! This patch took quite a while to come out because we had to revamp some older systems in order to fix a couple of nasty bugs. Changes and Updates

• Decreased the petting timer for all plants This means that the plants might want to be petted more frequently :)
• Added sound to the furniture navigation arrows, which were previously missing

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a very tedious bug that prevented the unlock of the achievement "Love & Science" If you have already completed all the research, it should unlock itself automatically when you open the game
• Fixed a bug that prevented the unlock of the achievement "Perfectionist"
• Fixed a nasty bug that stopped the princess Princess Hair growth under specific circumstances Now the plant can normally grow again, and the ones that were bugged should grow again! :)
• Fixed the plant calculation for the achievement of "Balcony Optimizer"
• Fixed a bug that under specific circumstances prevented the unlock of the achievement "Room Revealer" If you have already unlocked all the rooms, it should unlock itself automatically
• Fixed a bug that interfered with the insect's sounds when spawning and when being sprayed
• Fixed a bug that would stop the sound of the watering can while being used
• Fixed an error with the soil text being wrongly spaced inside the focus menu in some languages
• Fixed a bug that prevented the use of the scroll bar inside the herbarium if you selected the air plants tab
• Fixed a bug that made it possible to place various objects using "CTRL" on the tree and on the bushes inside the Garden area

Thank you for your patience, we are aware that there are still some issues in the game and we are working on fixing them. Besides bug fixing, In this patch, we focused on decreasing the maintenance that plants require. Updates:

• Increased time between parasite infections and increased the amount of time each soil can hold water.
• Adult plants now require significantly less water and are less vulnerable to parasites.
• Game can now disable audio when it loses focus, It can be set in the Audio Setting Menu.
• Increased the maximum number of plants that can be planted in each room at the same time.

Bug Fixed:

• Resolved an issue where achievements and room researches would unlock under the wrong conditions.
• Resolved an issue in the herbarium where the parents of a plant were notcorrectly displayed.
• Fixed missing vase entry from rewards.
• Resolved an issue where plant growth was not counted towards progression under certain circumstances.
• Player can now no longer open trophy and herbarium during tutorials.

Misc:

• CPU and GPU optimizations.

• After 24 hours, the Time Clock might exceed the charge and be reset to 0%.
• That some elements in the Achievement Menu might not be showcase the correct status of the Room Progression.
• The "Object Variation" tutorial inside the Computer is showcasing some incorrect text.
• The "Water Water Water" Achievement isn't unlocked correctly but it is unlocked after closing and re-opening the game.
• We are aware that using the Time Clock with a very high number of growing plants might cause some crashes, so please be careful.

Hello hello, Welcome to the second Garden In! devlog. Last time we took a look at some of our plants and the different types you'll find in the game. Now we're going to talk a little bit about the rooms, the environments you'll decorate with the lovely greenery you'll be growing. There are 4 rooms inside the game. Each with it's own intended purpose, but of course you can change, decorate and move enough things to shape it to your own liking. Let's start, shall we? The Studio Also known as the Main Room.
It's meant to be very cozy, a normal room inside a house, it holds infinite possibilities! A studio, a living room, a storage or that extra room in your house that you're not sure how to use... It's the first room you're gonna settle in and it's definitely the one we're most attached to.
If you're wondering how it can be decorated. This is a taste of my Studio! I liked the idea of creating a space where I would work but also relax. Working from my PC while surrounded by some of my favourite plants but with some extra space where I can just sit down and read a book in my peaceful room. The Balcony It's the smallest room in the game.
There's nothing better than taking a breath of fresh air out in a lovely balcony. Stretch your legs and let's be honest, it's the perfect place to enjoy a sunny day or a peaceful night.
I like to fill mine with hybridization vases. They remind me of the large vases my mom had in our terrace, so they feel fitting to place here. I imagine myself sipping a cold drink and watching a colorful summer night go by. The Greenhouse Decorated with windows and glasses.
It's quite the big room! It's perfect to fit all kinds of plants, vases and whatnot. It might seem quite cluttered but if you move some of the tables around you can change quite a lot how it looks like!
For example, I didn't want to have a greenhouse / laboratory but something like a storage room or a general store. I wasn't sure which one to do, so I did both! I moved some cabinets and shelfs, filled with all kinds of decorations and tada! I created a general storage room. I think it turned out quite well. The Garden Sometimes closed door can't quite beat open air.
Quite the garden, don't you think? The small waterfall is my favourite thing. If you were bored of being confined in a house, this might just do the trick for you. There are a lot of things that you can do here. So, instead of showing you what I have done, why don't we all just imagine together our dream garden? Filled to the brim with plants? Or neatly organized with furnitures and cute decorations? With a sunny sky? Under a starry night? Or during a beatiful sunset? When you're done imagining it, why don't you share it with everyone else down in the comments? It might become a reality! Growing plants and gardens takes time, devotion, love, water, the right kind of soil, sometimes some fertilisers. No wonder we cant keep our plants alive ourselves, it takes a lot. But not anymore, as Garden In! is coming out in early 2023! In this cute and relaxing sandbox game you grow gardens from your dreams with no stress. Garden In! is made by an Italian studio Dramatic Iceberg. The game is the studios first commercial video game title. The game will be released by Bonus Stage Publishing on PC and Nintendo Switch early 2023. The game was featured in Wholesome Games and Guerrilla Collective in June 2022. The game starts in one room in which you are tasked to decorate to your liking. Your room is basically a perfect little sandbox in which you can move furniture around, paint the environment, and most importantly: grow plants. A lot of plants. At first you have a few seeds available, you can plant them in soil, water, rocks, and you have a few pots to choose from. But as you advance, combine different seeds and try out different growing conditions, your seed library will grow and grow, until you are the most advanced horticulturist in the world. You also unlock new rooms and areas by playing the game further. We started making the game because none of our team was able to keep their plants alive. We then decided we needed to learn some gardening skills, and just like that was the idea for the game born, says Tommaso Verde from Dramatic Iceberg. Garden In! is something we all need in our lives nowadays relaxing and beautiful, with no worries or stress of the outside world. Hello gardeners! Did you download Garden In!'s Demo? Did you like it? Are you still playing it? We did a couple of hotfix to fixbugs and other things you have reported us! IMPROVEMENTS -Added a new tutorial when you first start-up the game --The Tutorial PC will be highlighted with all the information necessary for the game --Afterwards a step by step tutorial on how to plant your first seed will start BUG FIXING -Fixed a bug where plants where grew smaller than intended -Fixed a bug that prevented vsync and fps limiter to start on the first launch -Fixed a bug that prevented the unlock of certain rewards -Fixed a bug that prevented correct hybridization formulas to generate new seeds -Fixed a bug that prevented players to unlock new soil types -Fixed a bug that allowed items to be stacked on top of props -Fixed a bug that allowed to gain access to the "Greenhouse" room -Fixed a bug that allowed player to unlock non-demo items from the progression -Fixed some issues with pots and plants colliders -Fixed some issues with some of the "Studio" room colliders

Hello Friends! Welcome to our first developer update about Garden In! The game isn't out yet but we're too excited not to talk about it, so we will be sharing a bit about the development and some cool screenshots made by us, the Icebergs! I'm sure you have many questions about the game since we have released so little material about it, so let's talk a little bit more about it. Garden In! is an idle experience about growing your own virtual garden. You do so by choosing a pot, filling it with soil and plant a seed. From there you will have to take care of it, watering it, keeping it safe from insects and giving it much love.
Did you know? There are three different generations of plants! Ground These are the most classic type of plants, they absorb the nutrients in the ground and extend their roots deep underground. They grow with soil in ground pots and require to bury its seed deep within it. Water Quite differently, water seeds require a lot of water to grow. They are totally different from algae and have learned to float on water. In order to grow, they will require a water pot to be filled with a specific type of water. Air Avoiding dirt and soil, these plants absorb nutrients through their leaves, not their roots, which instead they use to anchor themselves to rocks or objects. They require its seed to be placed in air pot on top of of a pile of rocks.
The plant business is not over, you can also bring compatible seeds together and obtain new ones! By putting two seedlings in a bigger and larger hybridization vase and then fully growing them, a new seed will spring forward. But remember, only if they are compatible. Since the space is so little, the plants growing will be a bit smaller. Different generation of seeds cannot be combined one with another, this is mostly because they dont share the same environment, no water seed can grow on hard soil. [spoiler]Yes, we know this isn't how it works but it's a videogame so let's just say it's green magic ;) [/spoiler]
There are still so many things to talk about, palettes, decorations, unlockables and some new mechanics we're testing out.
