Demo & Playtest build 625: Improved high-res support, game recording

Hi all,

I've just pushed build 625 for the playtest and demo version of the game. These patches include:

Both demo & playtest:
- Improved scaling for high res monitors
- Some buttons on the main menu would previously hang until the popup was closed. This has been fixed.

Playtest (& full game) only:
- Added game recording. All your games will automatically be recorded into standard PGN(Portable Game Notation) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Game_Notation
Games can later be analyzed an assortment of free tools to help you develop your skills.

Demo Launched

The IsoChess Demo launched today! This contains the current build of the offline experience, and also the ability to join games created by paid owners of the game.

This demo launch also brings several performance improvements relative to the latest Playtest build, as well as better support for higher resolution screens.

The playtest, with the ability to invite demo players to play, will be updated tomorrow.

As always, feel free to report any issues experienced in the discord.

Happy playing!

Native Linux support added to playtest

Hello everyone,

The playtest now includes native support for Linux! While the previous version was playable under SteamPlay / Proton, the playtest now includes a native Linux build. This should result in improved performance.

The full game will also include native Linux support.

Playtest started

Hello everyone,

Over the last week, we made an early build of the game available for playtesting! In this version of the game, you can play against friends locally or against the AI. You can also adjust the difficulty of the AI by limiting the amount of time it can think per move.

Feel free to express interest in the playtest via Steam. We are gradually admitting these people into the playtest. Alternatively, if you join our Discord channel and fill out a quick survey, we will add you to the playtest immediately.
