The story of Science Simulator
Science Simulator was created by one person, a computer scientist and artist called
Callum Sales also known as Syntheticus.
I made this game because it was the game i wanted to play, it is the first game i wanted to make, my dream game, I made it to make the world a better place, to give something back to the world thats given me everything.
I wanted my first game to be a non-violence game to show that the medium of video games can be so much more than your copy-pasted shooters. I wanted to make a game where you never felt like you wasted a moment of your time, something that could improve you as a person. That could inspire the next albert Einstein or Marie curie into science and technology, help people get better jobs in Science, Technology, Engineering , Art and Maths, STEAM.
I wanted a single resource, an archive of all the scientific accomplishments of mankind in one single place.
I made Science Simulator, with the support of a small group of individuals over the internet. Such as the cryengine forums/discord, and a single friend game tester.
I did all the work myself except for the soundtrack which was done by my cousin.
I made this game alone, with the minimum money necessary, no previous experiences, and little education in the field.
I made this game though sheer willpower and determination.
If i can make this game with no resources, i hope you can imagine what i can do with the game if it takes off. I intend to support Science Simulator for
the rest of my working life, as long as i am able to, it will be complete when science is complete, which is never.
I hope you enjoy the game i made for you all.
The Future
There are three levels of difficulty planned. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.
Stage one : The current level of the game is Beginner, Functionality is basic. Explanations are Basic, Gameplay is Basic.
Stage two : If the game sells well i can begin outsourcing features, Multiplayer, Cross play, Console Ports, Twitch/video input, hiring specialists in their respective fields such as a physicist to help better explain the standard model and other concepts, and so on. Better game loops that teach science in a practical manner.
Professional voice actors, full translation to other languages.
Stage three : Will be a complete archive of all science and technology, from all the ages, all geographical locations, all people, all animals, all scientific concepts and theories, anything and everything relevant that can be in the game will be in the game at his point. With puzzles and game loops that teach STEAM in a practical and engaging manner.
There are many updates planned for the future, more planets to explorer, more scientific concepts to explain, more scientist room portals including different ages and geographic locations such as the Islamic Golden Age, the history of China`s science and technology, But also a history of the animals of science such as the first dogs in space, Dolly the first cloned sheep and much more.
Science Simulator is a science educational video game.
- *Explore the history and the people in science.
- *Drive spacecraft such as the voyager spacecraft and Mars Science lab rover, in space and on planets where digital elevation maps are used to recreate a planets surface environment.
- *Inspect the periodic table of elements in a 3D environment, allowing you to learn more about the elements that make up the universe, the history of each element and their uses in the modern world.
- *Gain an understanding of the standard model - the pieces that exist inside a atom.
- *Examine logic gates and their different variations and what they do and what they are used for.
- *Inspect the fundamental forces and gain knowledge of the invisible interactions like gravity and electromagnetism.
- *Scout solar systems such as our closet neighbour andromeda and study their properties and what is currently know about them.
