Imaginal Voyages was an experimental project we put together. We enjoy shows such as Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone, and the idea of a short, episodic Visual Novel seemed appealing. Unfortunately the execution of the first episode did not result as originally planned. We faced some challenges during the development of subsequent episodes, and ultimately the project was put on hold.
This week, the decision was made to shelf the project for good. Soon, it will no longer be available on Steam.
While Imaginal Voyages had a short "voyage", indeed (ba dum tss), this doesn't mean the end of Source Error Productions! The studio is currently working on an undisclosed project that will be announced later in 2025. Stay tuned by following us on X (formerly Twitter): @Source_Errors
Imaginal Voyages is a speculative science fiction Visual Novel anthology consisting of short episodes similar to the format presented in many television shows such as The Twilight Zone or more recently, Black Mirror. Each episode delves into a new story which touches upon the qualities of human nature.
The base game includes a free episode: The Stowaway
Each episode is short, taking approximately 30 minutes to complete (similar to an Anime episode).
Most episodes will contain multiple endings and at least one important choice to make.
Future episodes will be sold separately as DLC content.
Episode 1 - The Stowaway
On the desolate mining planet of Arcallum Tau a mysterious illness has ravaged its inhabitants, plunging the once orderly community into pandemonium.
Amidst the chaos, Communications Officer Aiden Keane rushes to rejoin his crew aboard The Whipple, but fate has a different plan in store for him. Upon boarding, he is startled to find a small girl named Mia who desperately pleads for his aid.
Will Aiden Keane risk everything to help her, even if it means putting his crew in peril?
