Hi everyone, I got a Steamdeck on my birthday so I made some performance optimisation in the game that should affect everyone. Especially on volcano level, forest level and shadow level. The target was to reach a constant 60 FPS on the deck : it's a success ! Here's the changelog - Optimisation in volcano level, forest level and void level (mostly concerning lighting ; render calls optimisation & level loading / unloading) - More foliage in forest level (it's cheap now to render that, so I cracked it up a bit !) - Special settings applied if you play on a deck (mostly concerning shadows : they are so greedy !) Hi there ! After watching some friends speedrunning Pillars of Light (Dahpril lately on TwitchTV, just to name him), I worked a bit on a better integration with the most common speedrunning tool : Livesplit. Pillars of Light now has an official category in the settings and an autosplitter ! It will allow speedrunner to ignore loading times (because your loading speed should not make you better or worse than a fellow speedrunner !) but also automatically change the current step of your speedrun. I know it's a niche feature ! But now has never been a better time to beat this 42 minutes run and get the achievement ! 42 minutes is easy, the competition is now sub-30, will you try to beat that ? :) Have a good one ! Pillars of Light have been released on Linux after some testing on my side. In addition, the game has been tested on a steamdeck running Windows (and it worked amazingly well) so let's hope it will be the same on a native Steamdeck (running Linux, you know). Tests have been run on Ubuntu with and without the help of Proton. It should be now publicly available for Linux & Steamdeck users. I started working on Pillars of light 2 years ago and as a solo developer, releasing is the end of a rich journey. I hope my work will please you ! The launch will be on 29/09/22 at 5pm CET The sell price will be 14.99. It will have a launch discount of 15% for a few days. That means you will be able to get it at 12.75, youhou ! In the mean time I still have some work to do and some room for last minute improvements. One of this task is translating the game to make it available to most. The goal I have is to make the game available in english / french / german / spanish & italian. The store page in these languages should all be online soon. The game should be translated upon release in these languages. I might be able to add some other languages but let's not be too greedy, they might come after release.
