This is the duplicity loop team's first time posting on Steam - hello to everyone here. Most of our devlogs are on itch.io, where we try to give regular updates about development progress. Today we've updated the demo to better reflect the final version of duplicity loop, as well as the store page's screenshots. We've made some UI changes and updated the backgrounds as well. We did this so that the demo will be a meaningful representation of what we want our game to look like. As we've worked more on duplicity loop and received feedback, we've been doing our best to improve it in various ways, ranging from writing choices to these bigger visual changes. We may update the demo if we do another big rehaul of the game. I'll include a list of demo changes at the bottom of this post, but I also wanted to speak on our development plan and status here for our Steam audience. duplicity loop is a passion project for us, and we are a small team of two (plus meaningful contributions from play testers, composers, etc.). Our current plan is for duplicity loop to have around 10 chapters in total. Currently, we are finishing up work on assets and scripting for Chapter 3, and are in the outlining stages for Chapter 4. While we did originally have a time estimate for the game's completion, this didn't fully take into account the amount of time we had available to work on the game, as well as the scope and quality we wanted to give our game. As of right now, we don't have an estimate on when duplicity loop will be ready for everyone. Please wait until that exciting time comes. Changes made for duplicity loop demo 1.1:
- Changed default text font
- Added simple font option in preferences menu
- Added 'accessibility menu' button for easy access to native Ren'Py accessibility options
- New art for textbox and choice buttons
- New backgrounds for checkerboard areas (all Chapter 1 backgrounds)
- Redid sidebar for characters screen
- Added characters menu button to quick menu
- Made it so newly added or updated character is default pick
- Added timed choices
- Tweaked text to match new backgrounds
- Minor text revisions to improve story

The story begins when Abriel falls into a Wonderland distinctly different from the story books: a world filled with magical girls devoted to fighting for the sake of the Queen. As Abriel tries to find her place in Wonderland and face her past, she must also face the reality of her situation: in Wonderland, nothing (everything) makes sense.
duplicity loop features branching paths, bad endings, and one true end - if Abriel can reach it.
This game is not suitable for younger audiences due to its depiction of darker topics.
