Hey there, it's showtime! My partner has taken all the feedback about Horny Holiday into consideration and is working hard to update, improve, and expand the game. The version 3.3 is now in Beta, available on the new Beta branch in your steam client in English or Chinese. There will be a few more updates after this, but for now, we wanted to share with you the latest and get feedback before it moves to the production branch. What's in this update?
Hey folks! Today, we've got a whole list of updates, improvements, and quality inside the Horny Holiday game which launched today. There were multiple areas where the actions weren't as good as they could be, and some dialogue that wasn't the very best - all of those have been fixed up. We also improved the point & click interactions to make the Steam Deck experience better. In addition, there's a new animation in the game, which is a kissing scene between Jack & Joy, from three different cameras. But wait, there's more! With the sequel, Spark of Joy, in active development, we decided to share a glimpse of the content in that upcoming title. Last but not least, we've got professional localization of the Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese versions of the game. If we get more support, we can investigate more professional localization of our games in the future. Stay Thirsty, Brosef Chungus (and partner)
Get ready for the next chapter in Jack's love story! SPARK OF JOY is the highly anticipated sequel to Horny Holiday, and it's packed with even more romance, humor, and drama. If you loved Jack and Joy's budding connection in Horny Holiday, you'll be hooked as their relationship takes an unexpected turn. In SPARK OF JOY, a heartbreaking twist puts Jack's romance with Joy on hold, sending him on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, Jack meets four intriguing women, each offering a different kind of temptation or escape. Will he stay true to his heart and find his way back to Joy, or will he be pulled in new, unexpected directions? The choice is yours. What can you look forward to?
Fixed feeding Joy replay bug; fixed a bug that allowed unlimited Spark of Joy from the punch bag, multiple spelling, grammar, and some audio fixes as well.
Hey folks, Guess What? The developer who brought you Horny Holiday V2 (not me, a member of my team) just finished the massive expansion to Horny Holiday, and wow, it's amazing. We've got *double* the story - yep, it went from slim bloke to big boss, with more than ten thousand words of brand new story, taking the total to just over twenty thousand words now in the game. What else is new?
Hey all- After seeing somebody mention a gallery feature in a curator review, I figured, "Yes, that makes sense." So here we are, with 9 of the scenes now in a handy replay feature in the left menu, accessible while you play. Other edits include an arrow for first time use, to ensure people know to click the bottle to start the game, and some audio effects for the first time we meet the neighbor when they invite Jack to the party. Cheers, Brosef
Thanks again to supporters on Discord, I really appreciate the help.
I got some fast feedback and learned I'd missed the Steam libraries in my build yesterday. A few other items were also bugged, including a spelling error and a few speech bubbles, those have all been fixed. Thank you.
Let's begin with saying this is version 2.0, and you'll need to start a save file from scratch, the achievements are all new, and about half the images have been replaced. There are another six hundred plus in addition to what was there, and the new game explores a full day of Jack's life. The updated game description is as follows: Horny Holiday is a short romantic comedy visual novel. It begins with Jack, still reeling from a breakup with his girlfriend, Becky. To cope, he indulges in a cathartic moment: deciding which of his exs belongings to set on fire. After this release, Jack receives an invitation to a holiday housewarming party hosted by a new couple down the street. At the party, Jack mistakes Joy, a confident guest, for the hostess. Amused, Joy plays along and gives Jack a tour of the house. As they explore, they bond over shared interests like cooking, video games, art, and exercise. Depending on your choices, Jack might express his genuine interest in Joy, leading to a heartwarming moment where they look forward to exploring their connection amidst the festivities. Horny Holiday features sandbox functionality, allowing players to freely explore the house and interact with the environment. Choices matter, leading to multiple endings, including good, bad, and game over scenarios. The game includes optional minigames and point-and-click interactions to immerse players in the rich, 3D-rendered environment. With over 150 audio tracks, more than 80 animations, and 700 images, the game provides a captivating and dynamic experience.
The remake is going well and I wanted to share what's coming here on Steam. Horny Holiday today is around 60% finished for dialogue / outline is finished and story notes for the remaining renders & animations, of which probably 80% are done.
Hey all- Thanks for tuning in, I wanted to share some news since this game launched in December to a ...less than stellar reception. I feel you. So what am I doing about that? A lot, as it turns out. See the existing game is like part of a story and you can't get full on half a plate. With Jack, we've got a new set of scenes where we'll get to know him, and his relationship from the past. In addition, the party will feel more like a party once Jack arrives at his neighbors house and has the fateful encounter with Joy. The new update will bring one additional character, loads of new sounds, animations, and story, as well as some new interactions that will hopefully be as engaging for you as I thought they'd be while developing them. Cheers, Brosef Chungus
There were a few points where the logic didn't make sense as reported in the Steam discussions. I believe this takes care of most of it from testing. Thanks for the feedback!
I realized the way I'd constructed the bonus content in the game was confusing, so I've altered it to make sure you can get all the bonus animated scenes in the grand prize / high level of the wood, fire, water game. Thanks for the feedback!
The achievement for the happily ever after was missing in the prior build, it's now fixed.
