v0.12 is now over halfway complete! It's currently planned for release by the end of this month, although there's a chance it could slip into early May, depending on bugs or if extra content gets added.
In this update, you'll be able to ask Valerie a number of personal questions. For example, how do succubi give birth? Do succubi view humans as equals, or merely a source of energy? Can they survive on just food, and what happens if they go without sex for too long? Even more importantly, Valerie and the protagonist will discuss their plans for the future. After all, their quest could eventually lead them outside Rothagen and into lands further beyond. Of course, if you aren't interested in these bits of succubi lore, you can choose to end the conversation at any time.
If you've been looking forward to more Rena content, you're in luck. The protagonist and Rena will go out for a date while Valerie works an early shift. This scene plays a big role in the overall story, but it is also a great chance to deepen your bonds with your witch friend. The Rena date was originally planned for v0.13, but I felt it was a better fit for this update. Depending on time available, I may also include the second Rena sex scene, which otherwise is scheduled for v0.13.
The protagonist seeks out Captain Gerard for details about the recent attacks. As a result of Oruth's downfall, the Captain also reveals some big changes to Rothagen. While this conversation provides some closure, your actions at the end of Act 2 will still play a major role in the events of Act 4. For players on the Sharing Route, there will also be some spicy new content in v0.12. I'll have more to share regarding this soon. The next major update (v0.12) is now approximately 30-35% complete! You can expect to play v0.12 sometime in April. I've decided to adjust the order of some events for the next few updates. Previously, I planned for the flashback of the protagonist's past to be the main focus of v0.12, but I felt this would be a better fit for later in Act 3. Instead, the next two updates will continue to focus on the romance, adult content, and vampire storyline much like v0.11.
Your cute elf friend - Annestria - will come to visit again in this update. This time, however, you and Ann will be alone at home. Now that your relationship with her has taken a romantic turn, you'll have the choice to make love to Ann in your bedroom. Of course, if you'd prefer to save this special moment for later on (or otherwise wish to just stay friends), you can hold back in this scene and pursue her at a later time.
Ann's sister, Ellania, has fully recovered and will now start appearing more frequently in the story. I've decided to give Ellania shorter hair to help distinguish her from Ann. Though she isn't a main heroine like Ann, there will be a few sex scenes with her later in the story, including some threesome fun with the two elven sisters.
Meanwhile, the vampire threat in Rothagen is brewing in the shadows, and the player will set out to cautiously investigate their encounter with the monster. Be careful, though, because investigating too deeply at this stage could have deadly consequences. _ The v0.11b patch, which includes new training scenes and minor improvements, will now be combined with the v0.12 release. This is mainly due to some personal events which made releasing a smaller patch a bit tricky. My apologies for the slight change in plans. Hey, quick update to let everyone know v0.11 is releasing on Feb 15th (Saturday)! Depending on your timezone, this may reach into the early hours of the 16th. While I'm not too sure about the exact timing, I expect it to be made playable between morning and afternoon, Pacific Time. This is a little bit later than originally planned, due to the addition of extra content. I've added a new ending scene, expanded two of the scenes, and created 15 new animations including some for the Act 3 Rena scene which previously wasn't animated. Looking ahead, I expect v0.12 will follow around late April. This will be a lengthier update, featuring less branching options, and focusing more on the protagonist's past and their relationship with Valerie. I hope you enjoy playing v0.11! The next major updatev0.11 is nearing completion! As previously announced, the update will launch on Steam sometime between late this month to early February.
In this update, Valerie and Rena invite the MC out for a special outing. During the date, they buy a new outfit for the MC as a gift, and spend some time eating and drinking together at the tavern. While the two still can't resist bickering with each other, this scene highlights how much friendlier their relationship has become. Combined with the Ann + Rena event, this update is designed to make the character dynamic feel more like a team and if you so choose, your very own harem. This scene also includes a new outfit for Valerie, with her hairstyle being determined by your preference.
If you've chosen the sharing route, there will be a special scene where Valerie reports on her activities at the tavern. You'll have the option to let her tease you or instead take a dominant position. This choice will influence future sharing events, determining whether Valerie adopts a more submissive role or takes the lead. I thought it was important to include this choice, as players might have a preference for one dynamic over the other.
This update also marks the introduction of the map system, which allows players to (optionally) spend their free time with a character or event of their choosing. This first iteration includes a total of five different events, split across two time periods (Morning & Afternoon). While I expect most players will choose the heroine events on their first playthrough, several side events have been included to flesh out the world and foreshadow future developments. These events provide opportunities for me to explore side characters, offering scenes that aren't essential to the main story but which may still be of interest to those who wish to dive deeper into the world of Uldreza.
Last week, I upgraded to a new work computer with significantly more powerful hardware. There were some limitations in the past (such as the number of characters that could be rendered in a single scene), which are no longer an issue now that I have much more VRAM to work with. There's some other improvements and features I've been cooking up, some of which will be ready for this update. I've been listening to all the feedback so far and am committed to making Rebel Duet even better throughout its Early Access period. Development for the next major update (v0.11) is now halfway complete! It is expected to release around mid-late January, although there's a slight chance it could release in the first few days of February, depending on bugs encountered during playtesting.
In one of the new v0.11 scenes, Annestria will arrive at the door to say hello. This will allow you to further bond with her, learn more about her recent activities and elven culture, and even kiss hershould you wish to romance your new elven friend. This scene will also see Annestria and Rena being introduced to each other for the first time, since Rena is home. With them now acquainted, the doors will be opened for more content involving them together, as well as all three main heroines (Valerie / Rena / Ann) at once. For example, perhaps in the future you might like to invite Valerie and Ann to bed for some threesome fun?
If you opted into the sharing route, Valerie will have the opportunity to get friendly with a tavern patron by sharing a drink. This character can be either female or male depending on your choices, and players will get to decide how far Valerie might go for tips. Naturally, this scene will not occur if you chose either the monogamy or open-harem route.
Of course, things are not all peace and quiet. The protagonist will have their first encounter with a new type of enemy. Since the protagonist has become more powerful, they will be able to fight this threat themselves without the help of Valerie. Development on the next major update of Rebel Duet (v0.11) is progressing smoothly, with an estimated release in January. This update is planned to introduce a new gameplay feature: the map system.
Every few in-game days, you will be given two free periods in which you can interact with characters and events of your choosing. This allows you to forge deeper bonds with the heroines (including romances), obtain new training items, as well as engage in special adult scenes. While this system is still a work-in-progress, the above image should give a rough idea of what to expect. I felt it was important to give players more freedom, while making sure not to impact the pacing of the game. Much like the training system, you can also choose to 'skip time' if you'd rather just move forward with the story. v0.11 also includes a bunch of new story content, including a new encounter with Mira, optional scenes for Valerie at the tavern, a sudden attack from a mysterious creature, and much more.
As thanks for defeating Oruth at the end of Act 2, Mira will also offer the player an 'intimate' reward. Will you accept her temptations? _ I hope you enjoyed the first dev update for Rebel Duet!
