What is Legends of Castile?
Legends of Castile is a new fantasy-comedy point and click adventure with full HD hand-drawn graphics and a modern interface.

What is the game about?
Legends of Castile is a fantasy and comedy point and click adventure set in Spain in the 19th century, in the region known as Castile. It's the story of a village girl who has to investigate the myths and legends of Castile in order to fulfill a very particular dream: to become a nun. You will be able to advance in the story by solving puzzles and riddles integrated with it, meeting all kinds of characters, defeating fantastic creatures using your wit, and exploring places all around Castile.
Who is the protagonist of this story?
The main character of this adventure is called María, a young, fearless, though clumsy Castilian girl. The story begins when just after a long night with her friends, she has a vision of the Virgin Mary, after which she decides to become a nun. Therefore, María goes to a convent in Burgos and requests to be ordained as a nun. However, in order to fulfill that dream, her future mother superior will assign her a very important mission. She will have to investigate the folk mythological creatures that have been appearing around the territory of Castile, and collect an item from each of them to prove their existence so the abbot will take action and finish with their threat to the population of Castile... and Christianity.

New demo and Adventure X exclusive
Development state
This month I went back to the foundations of the game and worked on improvements to the demo. The updated demo, prepared for the Adventure X exhibition, also represents progress toward the full game. In this way, I am not only revisiting the basics, I am enhancing the final result.
Here are some of the improvements in version 4.0.0 of the demo, now published on Steam as part of the Adventure X Steam event:
New main character animations, such as Mara knocking on the house door or her breathing idle animation.
[/*]Mara now shows emotions visually (more about this later in the text).
[/*]A thinking feature when Mara does not speak in a dialogue or aloud. This helps keep the non-voiced parts of the demo more logical, and it could also serve as a way to apply voice acting to the full game in a more affordable manner if full VO funding is not achieved, ensuring at least dialogues and spoken lines are voiced.
[/*]Dynamic lighting applied to characters, improving the overall graphics.
[/*]
Additionally, there is an extra puzzle from Act 1, exclusive to the onsite audience at Adventure X, featuring the first adventure game boss fight of the game.
Emotions system
As I mentioned above, Mara can now express a wider range of emotions visually. Up to nine emotion animations have been added, designed so they can be easily applied in dialogues or at any point in the game. The system is also scalable, allowing for more emotions to be added in the future. If you have any suggestions that would fit the character, please share them with us on our Discord server!

I look forward to meeting many new people connected to adventure games on Adventure X event this weekend, including some well-known figures from the industry. Expect some great photos from the event in the next update. And who knows, maybe even a photo with Dominic Armato, the voice of Guybrush Threepwood!
Thats all, see you soon with more news and insights!
