Today is a momentous day! Hive Jump 2: Survivors is leaving Early Access and launching into 1.0!
We want to take a moment to extend our thanks to everyone who has supported us during this Early Access journey, as well as those who have provided invaluable feedback and reviews along the way. Your input has been crucial in shaping this game, and if you havent yet left a review, we kindly ask you to consider it. Reviews are one of the most impactful ways to support indie games like ours, and we love reading them!
We'd also like to share an updated content roadmap and reflect on the progress we've made since the start of the yearnone of which would be possible without your support!
Patch Notes
So, here are the patch notes and additions for the 1.0 build that is live now! Additions:
- New Level: Mushroom Forest and Harvester Boss
- New Weapon: Chivalrous Arms
- New Jumpers: Chivalrous Jumper and Deputy Jumper
- Created a new tutorial for our new Jumpers.
- Added a short narrative intro at the start of each run (This can be turned off in Settings.)
- Increased the base chance of getting a challenge at the start of every wave by 10%.
- Scorcher's difficulty brought more in line with the rest of the bosses.
- Improved player collision detection with Acid and Lava.
- Removed reference of movement speed from Stringless Banjo Relic.
- Adjusted decor in all levels to prevent Jumpers from getting stuck between them.
- Wave 4's guaranteed challenge can now be 1 of 4 instead of 1 specific challenge.
- Proximity Grenade's cooldown reduced.
- Updated art for the Prepper Jumper.
- Frozen Ordovicians' body parts should be properly colored upon death.
- All Ordovicians, Jumpers, Equipment, Relics, etc should now have proper Codex entries.
- Various store card stat display adjustments/fixes.
- Various UI adjustments/fixes.
- Fixed an issue when trying to close the store with no store or equipment cards available.
- Fixed icons on Jumper select and Codex entry images for a number of Jumpers.
- Various fixes related to different screen resolutions
- Various text and font corrections.

Today is an exciting day - we are thrilled to announce that Hive Jump 2: Survivors will be leaving early access and jumping into 1.0 on September 10th! With the launch we will also be adding in a new oozy level with Mushroom Forest, a massive boss in the Harvester, an additional jumper and weapons/utilities, and some additional quality of life changes that well get into at a later time.
We also want to give you a sneak peak at the Mushroom Forest map.and the big baddie itself.
So lock in and get ready for September 10th. Between now and then were going to be implementing more player feedback changes and quality of life improvements leading up to 1.0. - Team Hive Jump
Greetings Jumpers, Its been a busy couple of busy weeks. Last week, we launched the Volcanic Wasteland update which brought a slew of new content and QoL updates. You can read more about The Volcanic Wasteland update here. We have a small patch rolling out today that focuses on some small changes and fixes.
Changes:
- Crushers' stats have been adjusted to create a longer and more engaging fight.
- Health: 60k > 120k
- Speed: .0165 > .02
- Ground slam cooldown: 2 > 1
- Ground slam damage: 25 > 40
- Ground slam attack range: 3 > 2.5 (clustering of falling stalactites is now slightly closer to the player)
- Dash attack range: 1.5 > 2.5
- Dash attack duration: .25 > 1 (animation slowed down a little bit to make it a little less like teleportation.)
- Dash attack cooldown: 5 > 4
Fixes:
Fixed an issue causing some stats to be invisible on some store cards. Volcano plants shed the correct color leaves. Fixed various UI issues when on larger resolutions. Additional typo fixes. Attention Jumpers!
The dev team has been hard at work to bring you a meaty content update on Tuesday, July 23. What can you expect? More details will be shared next week but we can confirm a new map in Volcanic Wasteland, a new boss in the Scorcher, and lots of QoL improvements and bug fixes.

Improvements and Additions
New unlock reward animations now appear at the end of every run for any achievement you finished. End of run menu overhaul. - Includes animated display of unlocked achievements and statistics from the run. Achievement progress meters now implemented in various places for easy reference. - Shows on currently locked jumpers in the jumper select screen - Shows on currently locked permanent upgrades in the Upgrades menu All permanent upgrades are now visible. - The locked ones now have a locked icon to their left and the upgrade unit boxes are hidden. Banishing achievement created to unlock in permanent upgrades menu - "Reroll Roulette" - perform 100 store rerolls - Can be purchased 3 times for a total of 3 possible banishing options in the end of wave stores. - Your remaining banishes are listed on the button itself Amber counter is now hidden by default to save space. Only appears when you collect amber and then goes away again. - New SFX when amber is collected. - New particle effect on amber. Visual and audio improvements to the Ordinance Drops - Fixed some UI not going away properly behind the ordinance drop store menu - Ordnance drops include goo, amber, and a special chest drop (based on the tier of hive you defeated) More decor and visual updates to levels. Item drops now animate out of their eggs instead of just appearing.
Achievement Updates
A number of achievement requirements have been lowered to give quicker access to some permanent upgrades. - A study of bombadiers - reduced from 400 bombardier kills to 200 - Attractive - reduced from 10 collected magnet power ups to 5 - Critically Acclaimed - 8000 critical hits to 4000 - Cyborg - robotic arm relics collected from 100 to 25 - Honorary Doctorate - total health pickups from 400 to 200 - I can take a hit - 1000 damage taken to 200 - If you can dodge a... - 400 melee attacks dodged to 10 - Laser focused - 8000 kills with the laser sights equipped to 4000 - Lots of ordovician autopsies later - 2500 kills to 1000 - 5k fanatic - renamed to "Relay Runner" - changed from 5000 distance traveled to 500 - Thats a lot of damage - 8 million damage dealt to 4 million
Bug Fixes
Fixed high resolution text option not being selectable with keyboard/controllers A number of codex entries that had been missing or copies of other objects have been given a more thematic "coming soon" message. Achievement Fixes
"Goo Economist" can no longer go into the negatives when spending goo at high difficulty levels
- Description slightly modified for clarity: Save a total of 10,000 goo from store price reductions.
- The sources of store price reductions come from 3 sources: Flash Drive relic, Free Store Reroll permanent stat upgrade, and Haggler's Coin relic
- Any save files that were in the negatives have been converted into positives.
- "Personal Space" - reach 100% bonus attack range
- "Faster Equals Better" - reach 100% bonus attack speed
- "Jetpack Joyride" - reach 100% bonus jetpack duration
- Avoid taking damage for an entire run

- Fixed a freeze related to leveling up at the same time as destroying a Hive Spawner.

What is Hive Jump 2: Survivors?
Hive Jump 2: Survivors is a sci-fi, action-packed, survivor-like, bullet heaven. After a squad of intrepid jetpack jumpers is decimated in an intergalactic ambush, a lone survivor sets out for vengeance while fending off endless waves of killer insects. Play as different jumpers for unique builds and abilities. Collect amber and alien goo as precious resources to earn upgrades and mow down the hordes however you see fit. Your secret weapon? Jetpacks! Strap in, dodge incoming hordes, and maneuver around obstacles - one gory run at a time!
Why Early Access and What's Next?
Launching in Early Access allows us to keep building on the game with our players to bring the best version forward. Your feedback will help us create a worthy successor to the original Hive Jump, this time with a fresh survivors-like gameplay! We also want to share what's planned for Early Access. While below is accurate today, things can change and the feedback that you all provide can influence what we prioritize and what we don't.

New Jumpers have been deployed!
- Cryo Jumper - This Jumper brings a chill to the heart of the hive, turning the tide of battle by slowing and stopping enemies, allowing allies to maneuver and strike with deadly precision.
- Exterminator - Designed for dealing with dense alien infestations, the Exterminator Jumper is a formidable force in bio-control warfare.
- Gold Jumper - This elite variant enjoys enhanced health and maximum equipment capacity, along with the ability to glean extra goo from pickupsa testament to its luxurious efficiency.
- Marksman - Armed with precision-engineered mag slugs, this Jumper can eliminate threats from a distance, with their attack range increasing with every level.
- Plasma - The plasma charger they wield sends devastating bolts of energy that not only damage but also forcefully repel enemies, with increasing knockback strength gained at each level.
- Tank - Equipped with the Brass Blessing, a weapon as robust as the Jumper itself, this variant is significantly slower due to a massive movement speed debuff but benefits from considerable increases in health and defense.
- Techno Jumper - This Jumper variant comes equipped with a Smart Turret utility, an automated defense system that provides both offensive and defensive support.

- Steam Deck: The cursor appears at the center of the screen and doesn't disappear when using gamepad controls.
- Reroll cost is tough to read sometimes

- Reduced the chance of enemies spawning inside of walls.
- Fixed a typo in the "I Don't Like Shooting Guns" achievement.

- Restricted 'kill zone' challenges from spawning too early.
