Hey everyone!
We\'ve removed the \"Win A Multiplayer Round\" achievement. This was a steam-only achievement that unlocked when you play a multiplayer round and kill the other player. This wasn\'t inside the game and it was only unlockable in steam.
We did a poll on our Discord channel (join here ) and majority of the votes wanted us to remove the achievement.

We saw that many players are looking for other people to get the achievement and we don\'t want people to go through out-of-game efforts to unlock an achievement.

It might make a comeback in the future when we have a more improved multiplayer

As for why we skipped several versions, we did have a few internal ones and things got complicated so we\'ve opted in to update to 0.9.180 directly.

We believe that the new name fits the game better. Its weird, a little unsettling, and matches the tone were going for. Along with the name, we've updated the main artwork too. The new look gives a clearer sense of what the game actually feels like to play.

Anyway, I want to share a sneak peek feature from the full game: Mutators. It's actually partially implemented in the demo but it's now much more improved.
Mutators are game-changing mechanics that unlock when you reach a certain progress. When you kill clones enough times and reach, for example, %50, the game randomly picks a mutator and apply to the games in this run. They stay there until you either die or reach 100% progress.

They're designed to be stacked on top of each other and they combine in fun and unique ways. They can affect the environment, NPCs, You, your target, and anything you can think of. They'll require a shift in your tactics and you have to plan your assassination around these mutators
I think they make the game incredibly fun. I always aim for emergent mechanics in DoubleWe and mutators amplify game mechanics to new heights.

There are many more mutators in the game. I only edited some of them. You'll encounter all of them during your gameplay in the release version. Some mutators I've liked but couldn't get the footage of:
Secret Assassins: 3 assassins hide within the crowd holding a knife
Hitman: A killer constantly chasing you
Violent Prisoners: A group of prisoners going on a killing spree
Cannibals: Masked people taking a bite out of you if you hang out near them without a weapon
Paranoia: You see everyone as holding knives (This one makes the game incredibly tense...)

We'll have a pre-recorded livestream with the FPS fest. And we're going to showcase the new mutators!
I think they make the game so much more fun. They can combine in so much fun and unique ways and you gotta shift your thinking to get through them.
For showcase purposes, we get a mutator after every round but in the game, mutators will be randomly picked once you reach a progress (for example after 50%).

We added new stuff and upgraded the quality of the demo. And I wrote some core systems you'll see in the released version. There are many changes happened under the hood but here are some highlights:Monster Clones
Yep, monster clones. Sadly, you won't encounter them during the demo but it'll be on the release version. You'll have to use non-conventional ways to kill them. In this demo, you'll get a taste of the future features (and they might get a taste of you)
Multiplayer Removed
Writing stable networking code and marketing a multiplayer game is a tough nut to crack. Every update I make in the game has to also be implemented and tested for multiplayer. It was costing me a huge amount of time. We decided to make a focused and awesome game instead of a meh game with two game modes. So we're suspending the development of the multiplayer game mode. Singleplayer on the other hand is going strong! We might even repurpose some content from the multiplayer into single-player.

Mutator: Darkness
Mutators will play a big role in eliminating repetitiveness in the full game. In this demo, we've added a mutator called Darkness. It turns off ambient light and makes identifying clones a little bit harder. It activates after you reach 60% progressIn the full version, this mutator selection will be randomized for each run.

Hello everyone!
I've been working on remaking the old multiplayer prototype code and now it's finally ready for public! I am still fixing bugs so please let me know if you find any! We're also releasing single-player mode but with Halloween-related content! I highly suggest you play a single-player round or two before jumping into multiplayer.
Multiplayer
Right now, we support two types of multiplayer. Steam friends-based and local network multiplayer with one game mode: 1vs1. You both get a knife (unbreakable) and have to find and kill each other within a time limit. You can hide among the people and kill your target in creative ways. The first one to reach a score of 5 wins the game. Before you start, one player has to start a lobby.

You both start with a knife that you can stab with and start with a random tool (Smoke bomb or trap). Press Space to use your tool
Future of Multiplayer
We have these features ready:Right now it's bare bones but the gameplay is there. It's very hard to keep both singleplayer and multiplayer up to date with each other. Multiplayer is not quite at the level of complexity of singleplayer but we'll get there! We're currently working to implement these new features:
Halloween Stuff
These are the things that will be available on Halloween from now on. You can of course disable/enable this anytime. I was mostly working on the multiplayer so there aren't many updates on the singleplayer gameplay except these new Halloween weapons. Check out here:[Sound ON]

For the first time ever, we're releasing a public demo of our game, DoubleWe! Ready your knife because your clone is waiting for you!
Last time the game was published was 4 years ago in a game jam. I've been working on this game for a long time so it's very exciting! If you encounter any issues or bugs, let me know!
The demo features:
- Core gameplay loop
- Many, many NPCs roaming around
- Multiple weapons and ways to kill your clone
- Officer NPCs that attack anyone with a potential for aggression
- A complex generated AI for your killer clone. No clone will act the same between rounds!
