Truer than You is about the search for meaning in a conformist society - set in a microcosm where commodified relationships, tech bros, climate activists, bored housewives and undercover artists are all in the mixture. The androgyne main character Rin arrives in an unfamiliar city, to start their new position at a secretive company that rents out actors for real life situations. This is the start of a new life, far away from the daily struggles at Rins home on a small island. But as Rin gets on with their new endeavours, their past is catching up with them, and theyll have to deal with who they are and will become. Truer than You was conceived based upon an article we read about a real company renting out people to play others in social situations. We were still working on Knife Sisters, but thought: This might be the set-up for our next game! We have been producing this game since 2020, and its been a bumpy ride. The set-up and complexity of it has sometimes been hard to handle. But we are soon at the finishing line - and are extremely proud to present you the game next week!
