The demo is a peek into the game where you will be able to play the first day of our month-long story. We hope it gets you intrigued for what lies ahead.





Its been three years of working on Fishbowl, (two years part-time and one year of heart-pouring full-time). We couldnt have done it without friends and family who cheered us on, helped us with play-testing and certainly did not let us miss them, while we made the game. You know who you are ^_^

It really wouldnt have been as fun or full without all of YOU! Our Fishbowl community!

Hi everyone!

Today we want to tell you about the unpacking puzzles in Fishbowl and our thoughts behind them.

When you solve unpacking puzzles, you will rediscover childhood memories from our main character, Alos, past.

The puzzles require you to move objects around in order to get the one at the bottom.

These puzzles have you unpack objects belonging to Jaja, Alos grandma, who passed away a little while ago. They tell stories of significant moments in Alos life, growing up.



Some of these objects will be dear to Alo, reminding her of a simpler time spent together with friends and family, while others may dive deep into some secrets.

We are hoping for our Indian friends to be able to spot a lot more than catches the eye. Like the Maggi and Hot and Sweet ketchup there. IYKYK.

Also, spot the box of mathri, a savoury flaky cookie or cracker from North India (Rajasthan) popularly eaten with aachar, Indian pickle. Yum!



Lets dissect the objects in this one puzzle. Dont worry, we wont give away the object at the bottom which will give you a memory!

Cross Stitch book: Jaja preserved this book through all these years.
Cross Stitch Embroidery: Some floral embroidery Jaja was working on.
Colourful threads: Jaja made sure to collect new colours of threads to add to her collection.
Scissors: Jajas trusted scissors which Alo was not allowed to play with when she was little.
Train: This wooden train toy is inspired from wooden Channapatna toys made in South India (Karnataka) that we love. If you like how this train looks, google it to see lots more beautifully hand-made toys.
Coin Purse: Jajas little coin purse, which would double up as Alos when shed wrap Jajas sari around herself and pretend to be all grown up.
Yarn: Just some blue wool. Maybe Jaja was about to start making something new!

Very happy to share that Fishbowl is going to be part of The Storytellers Festival, an event hosted by Two and a half Studios.

We both enjoy games with rich stories, some of our favourites which actually inspired us to make Fishbowl are To the Moon and Night in the Woods. Both these games left a lasting impression on us much after we finished playing them.

A fun thing we are planning for this event is that we are broadcasting for the first time! We are nervous and excited. The story of Alo will be told over a month. During this time, you will get to meet her mum, childhood friends and work colleagues.

Hi folks!

We are super, super excited to share that Fishbowl is part of Game Devs of Color Expo!

Weve been watching GDoC Expo for a while and all the talks have been extremely helpful for us through our dev journey. It feels quite unbelievable to be part of it this year!

We are doing some fun things for GDoC!

First up! If all goes well, were introducing a new character in the GDoC Direct! So keep your eyes peeled for Fishbowl in there. This character is somebody Alo is very close to and shares a very sweet bond with. Shh We wont give away more, make sure to watch to find out

Second! We were interviewed by none other than Sharpie!!! We love Sharpie and all we could do was fangirl throughout the interview. She asked us some really fun questions about Fishbowl, worldbuilding, our journey so far This interview will go live on the 29th of September at 7:45pm CEST / 10:45am PDT / 1:45pm EDT. Last but not the least! We are super excited to watch all the amazing devs of color who will be part of the event with their games. It means so much to have an event completely dedicated to people from underrepresented countries and of marginalised genders. If you are an aspiring dev or one currently working on a game or somebody aspiring to work in games, this is a great event to learn from fellow devs and also make friends.

Hello, hello!

Super stoked to share with you that after a beautiful time at BitSummit last month, we are bringing the prologue of Fishbowl over to Gamescom in Cologne! It's all thanks to the kindest folks at GameMaker. A big shout out to them!

This will be our first time attending Gamescom as well as travelling to Germany. We have heard that it's a massive event with so, so many people, it feels both overwhelming and exciting. We will do our best to keep it together and stay hydrated!

We are very much looking forward to meeting and catching up with devs and making plenty of new friends.

Hi folks!

We are back with another Fishbowl update. A longer one this time ^_^

We are very excited to announce that Fishbowl is selected to be part of BitSummit!

This is such a dream come true! We are looking forward to showcasing the early version of Fishbowls Prologue at the event. We hope to get lots of feedback and a lot of support for our game.

As ecstatic as we were to be part of the event, our first thought was researching the process for a visa to Japan. Visa processes can be gruelling and time consuming, moreso since the pandemic. Luckily, we made it and our visas arrived way before time. Yay!

Super grateful to the BitSummit team for helping us with all the required event documents, it made everything so much easier.


With our visa-stamped-passports in our hands, we could truly sit with the happiness of going to Kyoto, visiting Japan for the very first time, that too, with our very first game.

It all feels surreal. We feel very lucky and happy.

That said, we now have a running countdown of the amount of work we need to finish before our flight takes off. We are doing our best every single day to make our Prologue as good as it can be. It will set up the little world of Fishbowl for you, introduce you to our main character Alo and give you hints on what to expect in the rest of the game. We are trying to scope it such that it gives you a go at the main mechanics and experience the overall premise of our story with a lot of little mysteries underwraps

For BitSummit, we are localising our Prologue to Japanese and seeing the dialogues and start screen in Kanji and Kana feels so special. We hope Japanese players enjoy playing Fishbowl. Even though Fishbowl is a narrative heavy game, which means localisation can be hard to do, we want to try our best to localise it in as many languages as possible.


We are also figuring out what we want the Fishbowl booth at Bitsummit to look like. We are preparing some special little treats for a few lucky players. We are also trying to be as sustainable and mindful as possible with all the things we print, make, carry.

If time permits, we are hoping to do a few things in Kyoto:
Visit Kyoto International Manga Museum
Picnic at Kyoto botanical gardens
Take a walk on Philosophers Path
Visit Ghibli Park (we got tickets!! we will be taking a train for the day to visit )
And of course, meet devs and industry folks we look up to, play many new games and make some friends

Hey folks!

Excited to be making our first post on Steam! We dreamed of having our Steam page up for so long, glad it's finally here!

As two people who are not from the game industry but dreamed for the longest time of making games and telling stories together, having a Steam page just makes it all seem real, like it's actually happening, we are not just sitting at home and working on something imaginary for hours. Haha!

So, we feel grateful and very happy to be here and to share updates with all of you!

Wed love to tell you a little bit about us, and our studio. imissmyfriends.studio is the two of us Rhea and Prateek and Fishbowl is our first game. We started as beginners, with no prior experience in game development, only having watched as many talks, tutorials, documentaries on the subject as we could learning new skills and sharpening old ones.



In the middle of the pandemic, we decided to finally start our gamedev journey. Since April 2021 weve been navigating between measured discipline, sinking self doubt and boundless excitement which typically accompanies making a game.

The idea of Fishbowl is closely inspired by our mindset during the pandemic. Through this time, we were reflecting on our lives in isolation, what it meant to support our loved ones long distance, and to take care of ourselves.

You play as Alo, a twenty-one year old who just got her first job in a new city and is living by herself while grieving her grandmas death. The choices you make each day in figuring out life will lead to a unique journey of self discovery.




Fishbowl is a warm and cozy story about living in isolation, nurturing friendships and understanding grief. We are making this game, just the two of us, with both our hearts combined, squeezed and poured into it to the brim.

We hope it resonates with all of you!
