Dear Visitor, Welcome to the GINSHA Community Hub on Steam! I'm Adrian, the developer of GINSHA, and I'm excited to announce that GINSHA will be released on Steam for Windows & PC and Nintendo Switch on the 24th of August. GINSHA is a solo project and after more than 2 years of full-time development, I can't wait to hear your feedback. Feel free to ask questions, give feedback or suggest features here in this thread. My goal was to create a totally unique gaming experience while bringing back that good feeling of getting lost while being intrigued by what comes next that most of us had while playing the first Metroid or Castlevania games. As the game landscape has evolved a lot since then, I've also combined it with tons of new features and unique mechanics. I'll explain some of these in more detail below. Gon and companions You're never alone in GINSHA. While you control GIN, who possesses a clone as a host, your faithful companion GON possesses a drone to assist you in many ways on your journey. He'll protect you from incoming damage, give you hints on how to proceed, and perform specific tasks for you. For example, if you fail to hack a terminal or don't like the mini-games, it will offer to do all the hacking for you. If your inventory is full, it will offer to automatically sort and store any unwanted items for you. Scan & Rebuild Equipped with a scanner, GINSHA allows you to scan everything around you and store the collected information in an in-game wiki/database. As well as revealing some important details, this also gives you several advantages. The more scans you complete, the more special gadgets, features and equipment you'll be able to unlock from the Constructor NPC in the Hidden Cities. Just a few completed scans will unlock access to the Betaverse. In the Betaverse, you can rebuild almost anything you've scanned along the way. You can build a home base with all the interactive objects you'll need to craft, create the difficult course of your dreams, or set up a test area for specific enemy types. It's all up to you and, like many parts of the game, completely optional. Karma & Dialogue System As you progress through the world of GINSHA, you will have to make choices that affect the game world and your Karma. There will be loot or quests with certain karma requirements, but being good, bad or something in between will always have advantages and disadvantages and will also affect the ending of the game. Rewarded Exploration Once the player has reactivated the main reactor on the first planet, interplanetary portals will allow you to travel to other planets. While some may require special equipment to survive longer, you're free to choose how and where to continue your how and where to continue your journey. There is no right or wrong path, and tons of completely optional content, so every playthrough will be different, while completionists will find tons of secrets and even hidden areas within hidden areas. GINSHA doesn't force players in any direction, so it's up to you how and where you want to progress. The many NPCs in the game can give you hints or point you in certain directions, depending on your karma and standing with them. Loot, weapons and crafting As you explore and conquer the various planets in any order you like, you'll find plenty of loot, weapon types and crafting materials to use as you see fit for various benefits. Power Cells, for example, can be used to craft equipment and drones, while they can also be consumed for energy (exp). You'll be able to visit merchants in towns to exchange materials for better ones, or use them for specific upgrades. These are just a few examples of what you can expect in GINSHA. Your feedback is always welcome, and I'll do my best to add more and more content even after the game's release, with regular updates for all platforms. Thanks for reading, I'm looking forward to your feedback!
