...well, that bit was the April Fools!
However, let's keep the idea of a TV show for a little longer to keep things fun and in the spirit of the game's cheeky fourth-wall breaks.
Before Kimberley became a starletor at least before her schedule got packed with filmingshe had more time between takes to sit down for this exclusive interview. At the time, she was gearing up to film a key scene: a yoga class where Max finds himself well and truly outnumbered. Now, with the series further along, it's fun to look back at what she teased. Whether you're seeing it for the first time or revisiting it with fresh eyes, enjoy this throwback to an earlier stage of production!
Reporter:We're joined today by the lovely Kimberley, one of the stars of the new hit show Mothers and Daughters. Fans have been buzzing about her character and all the drama that's unfoldingso we're here to get the inside scoop. Kimberley, how are you today?
Kim: I'm great, thanks for having me!
Reporter:I have to ask[gestures]you're rocking a lifeguard swimsuit. Should we be expecting some daring rescue scenes?
Kim: [laughs]Oh, no! Nothing quite that dramatic. This is for the yoga scene.
Reporter: Yoga in a swimsuit? That's an interesting choice.
Kim: Yeah, my character's running late, so she doesn't have time to change. She just keeps the swimsuit on rather than hold up the class. Honestly, I think she kind of pulls it off. [smirks]I mean there's not much difference between a swimsuit and a leotard. It covers what it needs to cover. Well, mostly. [winks]
Reporter: Fashionably late and stylish? I like it. Although, I'm guessing your version turns a few more heads.
Kim: Well, isn't that the idea... [grins]
Reporter: So, who else is in the class with you?
Kim: Let's see besides Max, there's Maria, who plays Karla and Caprice's mom. Then there's Terivery much a cougar vibe. Talia's there too. You might remember her from when she interrupted Theodore in the supermarket. And we're introducing Lauren, Alison, and Jennifer in that scene.
Reporter: That's quite a lineup! But [leans forward, playful]I did notice Elena's name on the call sheet. You didn't mention her. Did we miss something?
Kim: [grins]Oh! Right, Elena. I didn't forget herI promise! She works at the fitness center, so Max meets her when he arrives, but she's not actually in the class.
Reporter: Ah, so she's more of a behind-the-scenes presence?
Kim: Sort of. She's not in the yoga class, but let's just say Max might want to make a good first impression.
Reporter: Noted! So, Max has some decisions to make when he arrives. What are his options?
Kim: Yeah, he does. He can either come see me at the pool before the class or wait with the others in the yoga studio.
Reporter: And does either choice give him an advantage?
Kim: Well [teasing tone]if he comes to see me, it's good for our relationship stats. But if he waits in the class, he gets to chat with Maria and Teri, and they might let slip some interesting information about the other women.
Reporter: Speaking of which [leans in, lowering voice]can you give us the lowdown on the best approaches with the various love interests?
Kim: [grins, glancing around]As long as you don't tell anyone
Reporter: [playfully whispers]Of course not. I'm a vault.
Kim: [laughs]Okay, okay So, my character responds to both the Nice Guy and Bad Boy approaches. And we've already seen one scene where the Bad Boy persona was required.
Reporter: Oh? Any noticeable difference between the two routes?
Kim:Definitely. The Bad Boy route is her solo pathand the quickest to some of my naughtier scenes, which, I'll admit, I'm really looking forward to filming. But she's also the jealous type. Flirt with the wrong woman, and she won't take it lightly.
Reporter: [grins, leaning in]I like the sound of naughty scenes. Can you give us a little more?
Kim: [laughs, eyes narrowing playfully]Let's just say... I'm looking forward to stroking Max's ego.
Reporter: [pretends to be shocked]His ego?
Kim: That's all you're getting for now...
Reporter: [laughs]You're such a tease.
Kim: [winks]That's the idea.
Reporter: Alright, alright where were we? Ah, Patriciayour best friend.
Kim: [nods, regaining composure]Right. So, Tricia's a different story. She'll only respond to the Nice Guy approach. But that's where my Nice Guy route comes in too. Tricia's a little inexperienced, so I'll actually be the one encouraging her relationship with Max if he goes that route.
Reporter: Wait so, you're telling meif Max plays his cards righthe could end up dating you and your best friend?
Kim: [smirks, leaning back]If he plays his cards just right and who knows where that could lead?
Reporter: [raises eyebrow, feigning shock]Now that sounds like a situation worth exploring. [leans in conspiratorially, eyes glinting with curiosity]Are we talking friendly competition? Or something a little more cooperative?
Kim: [grins, eyes twinkling]Hmm I guess Max will just have to find out.
Reporter: [chuckles, shaking head]You're making it very hard to choose a route here.
Kim: [laughs softly]That's the fun part.
Reporter: [shifts in her seat, straightening her skirt, clearing her throat softly]Alright, alright [flashes a quick smile, regaining composure]So what about the other women?
Kim: For Karla, Max should stick to the Nice Guy approach. She's a little defensive at first, but if he's patient, she'll come around. Now, Melaniethe girl from the ice cream shopseems like the typical bad girl. She responds well to Max being a Bad Boy. But she's got a secret.
Reporter: [intrigued]A secret?
Kim: [nods]Mmhmm. And if Max goes the Nice Guy route, he can actually help her with itand trust me, that'll get him much further with her.
Reporter: So, being a Bad Boy works, but helping her as a Nice Guy is the better play?
Kim: Exactly. If he's looking for something deeper, the Nice Guy path is the way to go.
Reporter: [leaning back]Alright, how about some of the mothers?
Kim: Ah, the moms. Victoria's definitely a Nice Guy approach, but [grins]she's got some cheeky Bad Boy options sprinkled in.
Reporter: [leans in, curious]Care to elaborate?
Kim: [smirks]Well if Max is a Nice Guy, he can get away with a little Bad Boy behavior. Like say grabbing her backside when she hugs him.
Reporter: [raises an eyebrow]Wait so, the grab earns a Bad Boy point, but Max needs to be a Nice Guy to get away with it?
Kim: [laughs]Exactly. A little bit of naughty mixed with nice goes a long way with Victoria.
Reporter: Anyone else we should be keeping an eye on?
Kim: [leans forward slightly]Oh, definitely. Maria's your classic bored housewife. If Max starts courting one of her daughters, it'll make her realize she's in need of some attention. But to get anywhere with her, Max has to really go after her Bad Boy side.
Reporter: [grinning]Sounds like Max has his work cut out for him.
Kim: [laughs, winking]Let's just say he's got plenty of options.
Reporter: [glances at the clock]Looks like that's all we've got time for. Thanks so much for stopping by, Kim.
Kim: My pleasure. I'll see you [leans in slightly]in class.
