Its taken a while but we can now proudly announce that it will be available in 2018. Not only that but we have big plans for Fighting Fantasy and will be adapting a number of your old favourites in that old engine too!

Tin Man Games are currently developing Fighting Fantasy Classics, a digital library app for iOS, Android, PC and Mac, that will collect many of the gamebooks from the ever-popular Fighting Fantasy series. The original adventures, written and presented by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson, are being converted to a digital gamebook format. Combat and skill rolls will be resolved by rolling realistic 3D dice, and the famous Adventure sheet, normally found at the front of the books, functions in the game via an autofill system.

The library will debut early 2018 and will feature Fighting Fantasy titles previously released by Tin Man Games, along with new adaptations previously unseen in Tin Mans gamebook engine. Favourites such as The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, The Citadel of Chaos, and City of Thieves will join Bloodbones, Caverns of the Snow Witch, Island of the Lizard King and The Forest of Doom.

Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: Weve been one of the digital custodians of the Fighting Fantasy license for a number of years now and feel that its about time that the original fans, as well as newcomers, are able to play the classics on their smartphones and tablets. Weve updated our old gamebook engine and plan to release a large number of the gamebooks that players will be able to purchase within the one app.

New releases will be staggered across the next 18 months and will include Deathtrap Dungeon, Sword of the Samurai and Creature of Havoc amongst many others. Where possible Tin Man Games will use the original artwork from the gamebooks as well as adding new illustrations to bring the interactive adventures to life.

Neil continued: We also have plans to include lots of extras over time, including music options, new dice designs and page skins. There are a lot of titles in the original collection that have never been re-published, so its a very exciting time for Fighting Fantasy fans!

Arrr! Avast me super-hearties! It is international talk like a pirate day! If you are keeping Titan city safe on your Steam version of FEAR, then you can talk like a super-pirate today!


For me advanced hearties, if you are a landlubber want to turn the pirates off, just add this to the launch options:
-addconfig SHOW_PIRATE_WORDS=0 -addconfig ITS_PIRATE_DAY=NO

(Avast! A note to astute maties, one could change the above line to 1 and YES respectively to have pirates any time! Yo Ho Ho!)

The Minions at Tin HQ have added some features you asked for!

* You can now set the resolution from within the game, and it supports all sorts of resolutions, you can even run the game in portrait mode!
* We also added the ability to switch from full screen to windowed mode in game.

BEEP BEEP BEEP! BUGS DETECTED!

Attention Crimefighters! The Minions at Tin HQ have found and eradicated some more pesky bugs!

* Linux rendering issues should be all fixed. No more 70,000 pixel wide images!
* When you turn the sound effects off, now ALL sound effects will actually turn off. Fight crime at work in ninja mode!
* The spurious Options menu has been removed. No more pointing at something that doesn't exist!
* Issues that some of our european localized players were having should all be fixed
* F.E.A.R. cards should always be saved now! Collect them all!
* a heap of other stability and compatibility improvements

The Tin Minions have been hard at work chasing down bugs and have pushed out a new update today. (we actually published one yesterday too, but wanted to wait till we had more bugs fixed to announce it)

This should fix the issues people are having with combat getting mixed up when using checkpoints or going back from within combat.
This should fix the issue of trading cards not being saved between games
This adds the ability to change from fullscreen to windowed and set your resolution in game.
This also fixes heaps in minor story bugs, although those get updated automatically when you load the game.

We have gotten scattered reports of some linux installs having strange rendering issues, and we are still working on this.
