It took us a little while to get this out for various reasons (also, we forgot). Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder can now be purchased directly with the OST for a few coins more than the game alone, but less than both separately! The fantastic OST is made available in both MP3 and Hi-Resolution FLAC.

Thanks to the report from a diligent community user, we've been made aware that the demo could not be downloaded from the store page even though you could find it if you'd search for it. Turns out there was a small "detail" that had been forgotten on my end when I made the demo - a small checkbox in the special settings on the main store page. Not a mistake I'd make again. Apologies to everyone who was puzzled about not finding this free demo and many, many thanks again to the person who told me, and double-checked it too.
We're celebrating the release of the awesome soundtrack and the free demo for Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder with the first discount! 30% off! And if that's not enough to convince you to take the plunge, there's a free demo you can try out and then decide!
So here it is, we made a demo for our scifi visual novel, Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder.
- The demo takes about 45 minutes to complete and takes place at the beginning of the story.
- Game saves have been deactivated, but all other features are there.
- All unlocked achievements cross over to the full game!
- Demo is available in French and English!
Today we celebrate the release of the Extended Soundtrack for Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder.
25 tracks crafted with love and passion by non other than the great Jonathan van den Wijngaarden, aka Sekond Prime. The incredible Lara Ausensi performed vocals and additional music. Check out her rendition of Tosca's Te Deum (originally written for Baritone, rearranged here for Soprano), it's fantastic.
The legendary Frank Klepacki also did some additional vocals for us on "Rajnish Grudge"
Also included is Primo the Alien's Begining of Us that was written specifically for Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder and had been made available since January when the game was announced.
The MP3 files are available in 48000 Hz, 320 kbps compressed stereo, should be great for anything portable. Additional Flac files are available in 24 bit, 96000 Hz high resolution stereo. These are fantastic to listen on dedicated devices but are also a bit heavy at 1.4GB.
We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we loved making it.
Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder OST, coming to 13th October, all tracks available as MP3 and FLAC, includes the hit single Beginning of Us by Primo the Alien! Wishlist now!
Hi there! A small update today:
- Fixed a small number of typos in the French localization.
- Increased volume for all ambiant SFX following feedback that it was difficult for the user to hear them at all unless the room was completely quiet or the user was wearing headphones.
We're happy to reveal the final OST cover, including the back cover with the final track listing.
The OST will include many extended tracks versus their in-game counterparts, and are off to mastering today!
We initially said the demo and the soundtrack would release in September 2023. That unfortunately won't be possible as the soundtrack needed a bit more time.
We're aiming for mid October for both, we'll be able to confirm this later. The soundtrack page should be live soon and In the meantime you can listen to small bits of it here:

or here:

There's more on our YouTube channel, don't hesitate to browse all videos!
In other news regarding the demo, saving will be disabled. This is mainly due to a technical problem that prevents the demo saves and the final game from working correctly together. As there is not elegant solution at hand and our resources are limited, the decision was made to remove the save feature from the demo altogether. Should you find yourself in need of stopping midway, know that the skip feature still works, and that all seen text can be skipped. Obviously the rollback feature also still works fine.
In a more positive light, the demo is about 45 minutes long and contains a handful of choices already. All progress that triggers achievements will be transfered to the full game, so there's that.
See you soon!
A free demo for Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder will be made available this month (September 2023), it should contain around one hour of gameplay, starting with the beginning. The game is about 12-ish hours long for a first run, so this should give players a decent idea of what the game is about.
Coming at the same time is the complete soundtrack! We're very proud and happy to be able to provide all the tracks in an arranged format for listening, containing some changes in comparison to the music found in the game. The full set and track names are going to be revealed at a later time, including other details.
The music is a labor of love by Jonathan van den Wijngaarden, aka Sekond Prime, who's also recently announced the scores for the 7th Guest Remake for VR, as well as Arizona Sunshine 2. Included in the soundtrack will be the ending song, Beginning of Us, by Primo the Alien.
In addition to Steam, the soundtrack will be made available via the usual streaming and purchase platforms.
We're happy to let you know that Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder will be participating in the Steam Visual Novel Fest. This means that it will get hopefully a lot more visibility, which will ensure that we can continue to work on it a bit longer and release it in as many languages as possible. And later make more games to continue the story of Galanos, RoKo, Oli, Chrys & Co. But what does it mean for you? Well as the game just released we're not doing a discount yet, but we'll be doing giveaways during the entire festival via Twitter. Check out our feed next week! And as per usual, tell us your favourite moments from the game in the community comments!
It's finally that time, Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder will be in the hands of the players after 2 years of development. We sincerely hope you like what we cooked up. An intriguing story of characters and how their lives become intertwined in a future 300 years from now. We'd love you to leave your thoughts in the comments section or in the reviews! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHCPvZaEqbE
We're happy to show the first 10 minutes of Sym.BIOS: Torn asunder, available in French and English. The video shows gameplay from the beginning up to the direct consequences of the first choice in the game. We're showing off a different choice in each language. We hope you enjoy this slightly longer and more detailed look at how the game is played and how the story unfolds. Additional links to the youtube page can be found here: [previewyoutube=jQESYpz4_Ts;full][previewyoutube=jQESYpz4_Ts;leftthumb][/previewyoutube][/previewyoutube] and here: [previewyoutube=hsqsk58eKYo;full][previewyoutube=hsqsk58eKYo;leftthumb][/previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The final week to release is here at last. It's been a long journey to get to this point, and we can't wait to get the game into the hands of the community. We will release several videos over the course of the next days to give you some previews of what it contains.

Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder has it all: unique characters you’ll fall in love with; richly illustrated backgrounds that will make you travel from the Sistine Chapel in Rome to Colonies in outer space; an epic adventure with some unexpected plot twists; intimate stories about love, friendship and grief; and multiple jokes about hats.
With its simple gameplay and intricate story, it depicts a future that could be ours if climate change and ongoing economic and social unrest continue unchecked.
A STORY ABOUT A UTOPIA…
In 2364, the wounds of World War III are healed… but they left some ugly scars. In the Rome area (or what’s left of it), radiation still kills slowly and silently.
It’s the place Min-Joon Watal - an extremely wealthy philanthropist and heir to the Watal Industries empire – chose to build an underground sanctuary city: Tosca, sheltered from those deadly radioactive waves that poison the Lazio region. But what Watal didn’t see coming is the locals’ resistance to his project: they don’t trust this man who comes from the “Colonies”, these artificial satellites where the rich and famous took refuge, far from the Earth and its agony, its filth, its brutality. Conspiracy theories run wild about Tosca, civilian militias are formed to attack its construction site.
…THE TEAM DEFENDING IT…
In order to defend his utopia, Watal assembles a dream team of “Harcos” pilots, capable of maneuvering these giant combat robots. The operation is led by Galanos, a veteran who’s as taciturn as he is talented ; Oli, the reserved negotiation expert ; Joa, the medic with a slight paranoia problem, and his wife, Chrys, a bit rough around the edges… and really rough with her enemies ; and RoKo, the Artificial Intelligence who supports them and tries to make them laugh with his corny jokes, alongside his sensitive creator, Thomas, whose innocent and charming smile could melt an iceberg if there were any left.
…AND THE CHOICES THEY HAVE TO MAKE.
We gave a lot of thought to the best way to connect theme and style in this project, and how to use the specific inherent narrative devices of Visual Novels to their fullest extent… and it quickly became self-evident that Sym.BIOS: Torn Asunder had to be a story about choices. From Oli’s chronic indecisiveness to the overwhelming responsibility on Galanos’ shoulders every time he makes a decision for the team, this theme runs all through the story until its end, when every little choices will have potentially dramatic consequences on the game’s outcome.
