- A few monster types will now attempt to run away when injured.
- Added German language support.
This update adds Portuguese language support, the invisibility spell, and some minor user interface improvements. The invisibility spell is an interesting one. It doesn't cost much mana to cast, but it requires (passive) maintenance. Each step you take costs one mana to stay invisible, and the spell will wear off if you run out of mana. In addition, doing anything useful like resting, meditating, or attacking will break your concentration and deactivate the spell. Monsters that are already attacking you won't be able to attack, but they will follow you (because you still make sounds and smells), but monsters that are not already aggro will not notice you. This means that it might be particularly useful to sneak past a dangerous group of monsters.
Beast Dungeon has been updated with a lot of changes to give it more variety and replayability. Here are the changes in the new version: - The font has been replaced with something that fits the pixelated style of the game better. - Dungeon levels and their contents are now persistent and will be remembered across entries and exits. This means that you can no longer go to another dungeon level and come back in order to "reset" a level. - Characters are now represented by a random avatar image selected from a set of 16 different character sprites. - When starting the game, rather than getting a short sword and a small shield, your character will now get a random weapon, piece of armor, a scrollm and a bandage. Starting with a spell in addition to a weapon should make for more interesting possibilities. - Two new spells, teleport and teleport other, have been added. Teleport will send your character to a random location on the same dungeon level, while teleport other will do the same to whatever creature you're in combat with. Note that you have to be actively engaged in combat for teleport other to work. - Shops found in the dungeons are now populated with a random selection of dungeon-level-appropriate items. Each one will have different items. - Your character's life bar will no longer be hidden when they are fully healed.
- You can now push heavy furniture, such as tables and bookcases. You may find this handy for clearing entrances or obstructing monster movement. - The dig spell has been added. It will remove walls/rock from adjacent squares when cast. This can be used to create additional passages, or unblock areas. - Text formatting for the high score screen has been improved (press "H" to view it).
Minor adjustment to make the game run better.
