Today, on February 29th (how often does that occur eyh!?) 2024 we marked Pincrediball as fully released on Steam. It's still completely free to play on Windows, Linux, OSX, and even on Steamdeck (with some minor caveats... you need the touch pads to play). Even though the features are the same as in the Early Access version, we felt that it was good enough to fully release the game to the public. It's a tiny first-project hobby project game, but with 15 minutes (up to perhaps an hour) of enjoyable content we still feel it's worthwhile to set it as "Fully Released". This will share the game a bit broader in the store, for anyone to enjoy. Here's to hoping this The Incredible Machine meets Pinball Maker crossover brings a smile to a few faces, and to hoping it might inspire game developers to build something of its kind but even cooler. Thanks for the folks who supported the Early Access phase (mainly when it just came out), and enjoy your game time y'all!

On July 12th, 2023, the Early Access version of Pincrediball has been released on Steam. It's available to play for free on Windows, Linux, OSX, and on Steamdeck (handheld mode only, you need the touch pads to play). We'll hope you'll find 10-15 minutes of enjoyment with this fully playable version of the game. It's totally possible (though not totally easy!) to 100% the achievements. The full game was built as a 8-week sabbatical project. A solo-development effort by someone who is a web developer by trade, and if you like you can check the website for a full devlog about the experience of creating and publishing such a game. Although it's not the game to end all games, it still is a good bit of fun! It's basically The Incredible Machine meets a Pinball Machine Making game. We'll hope you'll enjoy playing through this tutorial machine in early access!

When is it coming out!?
The current version is being released as "Early Access", it's a fully playable Tutorial of the game. Depending on early access feedback, wishlists, and other input the plan is to create a more complete version of the game for after Early Access.
How to play
Think of a "Machine" as a "World" with stages (or "levels"). At each level you unlock new components to add to the Pinball machine. Place these components in the right spots on the machine, and hit "Run Playbook" to see what score it gets you.
With some tiny spoilers, here's one way to handle the Tutorial Machine's final stage:
Every playbook must end by draining the ball (at the bottom of the machine) within the given time limit. If you succeed, your score will count and gets you a bronze, silver, or even gold medal if you cross a certain target. At least bronze is needed to advance a level.
Going for silver and gold after bronze? Or advance to the next level? It's your choice! And you could also go back to go full completionist on a level!!
What is included?
Pincrediball has many features, including (but not limited to):
- A Tutorial Machine (a "world") with several levels to play.
- Target scores (bronze, silver, gold) and a progression system, based on high scores.
- A multi-multi-multi-ball "Stress Test" mode to test your setup, or just for fun!
The trailer showcases all these features as well as many others.
About the Development
This game was created as a solo sabbatical project. You can read about the full development history on the website's devlog, and even view the source code (written for the Godot 4 engine).
