With tomorrow being one week since Mystical Map's release, I wanted to address some items that were brought to my attention. As of now, patch 1.1 is live with a few minor changes. Here they are:
- Changed "Options" to "Controls" for clarity.
- Capped the frame rate to be based on the monitor's refresh rate.
- Fixed an index issue with save files from the demo.
- Fixed the treasure room icon in the Mine mini map.
- Fixed a display issue where the map stopped displaying text information about what kind of item was in a given room.
- Added button textures to each map's "create" and "exit" buttons for clarity.
- Added a new dialog box to inform players how to pick up items.
Furthermore, this dialog box will change based on custom controls as well.
As always, if you have any feedback or bugs to report please do so in the comments or at my email, peep.gamedev@gmail.com Thank you for supporting Mystical Map! -Peep

With the release of Mystical Map, I have received a bit of feedback regarding the UI. In response to this I am going to change some text and textures to make the UI appear more deliberate. Additionally, I have seen that the game has no framerate cap currently, pushing it to over 1000 frames - very unnecessary. Coming this week I will release a hotfix to address these issues. Additionally, some players have mentioned that their achievements are showing as "unlocked" multiple times, or displaying as "unlocked" with a greyed out icon. I have reached out to Steam about this and they have confirmed this is an issue on their end, and they are looking into it. I am sorry for any confusion this has caused but I will make sure to provide updates as Steam works on this. Thank you, I hope you're enjoying Mystical Map! -Peep

The new and improved demo of Mystical Map has been released alongside some new artwork! Based on feedback and playtesting of the first demo, this one includes a few things to keep runs unique. The first being weapons! When exploring the forest you can now find weapons in regular rooms, but with higher odds in combat rooms. These weapons have limited uses that are replenished by collecting mana that has a chance to drop from enemies. Alongside weapons, map-items have been changed. Now there is a chance of a map-item dropping inside platforming rooms. Once these items are collected, you can use their effect once when creating later maps, but don't worry, they can be collected again! There is a secret-map item that unlocks a 3rd forest map, but you need to unlock it first by defeating the minotaur boss! The last item type are augmenting items. These can mostly be found in regular rooms, but sometimes they will appear in platforming OR combat rooms. These items can enhance your stats, or provide you with new benefits. The further into the forest you go, the rarer the item! I hope you enjoy this new demo!

Hello everyone!
After months of development and a week of intense bug fixing, Mystical Map has released it's first demo. I put a lot of work into this game and it's still far from complete, but I'm hoping this short demo will give you a great look at what's to come.
The demo features two full map cycles from the first area of the game along with three special room types and three map items. I have much more in store for the full game and maybe even another demo down the line such as more rooms, enemies, items and special room types!
Enjoy!
