Will there be future updates to the Dawning Clocks of Time original? -A. There won't be any future updates to the game unless a critical bug or crash is discovered. Yes, Spacefarer R&D always provide support for software titles. Q. Will the original game continue to exist alongside the new game? A. This patch resolves the following issues: -We've fixed stars from being stretched and showing a red hue in the background on AMD GPUS. Stars will now twinkle and display properly again. -We've fixed bleeding sprite border issues on AMD GPUS. -We've fixed sprites from bleeding into other sprites on AMD GPUS. -We've fixed the graphic filter from overly smoothing the screen. The game will now display optimally. -We've fixed some bugs on the title screen. -Upscaling is still disabled by default, but we have optimised the effect profile further if you wish to use this feature from the launcher. -We've fixed a potential game crash from occuring in Pallas Base. -We've fixed a potential game crash from occuring when using Chariot's Missile Launcher in battle. -We've fixed a potential game crash from occuring when summoning Pluto while on Blue Moon.
This patch fixes and improves the following- -Reduced lag on Vita Base maps -Fixed a error that could occur when changing maps after battles -Fixed title screen input delay. -Updated Spacefarer Identity Logo on startup.
This patch fixes and improves the following- -There was a bug that prevented gamepads from selecting any options in the Title Screen, facilitating the need for keyboard input. This issue has been fixed. -Fixed an issue where using Upscaling option caused significant slowdowns. This has now been fixed, and using this option should have nearly the same performance gains on compatible GPUS. -We've fixed a few other minor issues.
We are pleased to announce that with this latest patch, The Dawning Clocks of Time now supports HD Upscale! With this option enabled on the launcher, FSR and upscaled filters will be applied to the game, bringing crisper fonts, sprites and true widescreen support, with no borders at the sides. Obviously this will require a higher end graphics card to support this feature along with DirectX 11 feature level support as a minimum. The upscaling requires the .NET 6.0 Desktop Framework, which will be installed when you first launch the game. If it does not install, you can install it from the dotnet6.exe file that's included in the game folder in the latest patch for your convenience. Along with this update, we have fixed bugs.
We've added AMD Radeon / RYZEN Series optimizations to the game. When launching, you will be presented with a AMD icon when this mode is enabled on these GPUS automatically.
With these settings applied, the game will run at optimized settings with these GPUS.
You will be presented with the AMD Gaming Evolved logo when starting the game, indicating that the mode is active.
You'll see smoother graphics, improved movie playback speeds and better post-processing. We have also resolved a glitch that would cause the AMD Software Overlay from minimizing the game or not appearing at all.
Additionally, when running on the RYZEN hardware, the game will switch to DirectX 12 and attempt to use DirectX 12 Ultimate if the GPU supports it.
We have changed the game's system requirements to reflect this on the Steam Store page.
Non AMD GPUs will be presented with the regular 'Performance Mode', which can improve speeds on non-AMD GPUS.
NOTE: The AMD logo is a trademark of AMD. We show the logo only to promote the game's support for AMD RYZEN GPU's, and not for promotional or affiliation purposes.

We proudly present the 5.1.0602 patch!
This release includes the new UI overhaul and menus!
Along with new interface, we have heavily improved the Rune Grid and Synthesis Grids, that now have an animated background, no more map transfer bug and indicators above the Runes, making it easier to decide what pathway to travel when you first play.
You can now also choose between Normal and Easy difficulty modes when starting a new game. Easy mode will start you off with 40 Space and Time Relics so that you can get an early advantage of upgrades and win against enemies easier.
We have also added a 'Windowed Mode' checkbox to start the game in a window on the launcher, along with 'Performance Mode' for PC's that do not meet the system requirements, or if that computer experiences slowdowns playing The Dawning Clocks of Time. This disables post-processing. This mode will automatically turn on if your computer does not meet the system requirements.

This huge patch completely overhauls many aspects of the game and is the underlying foundation for the 'Finale' DLC. What you see in this update will closely reflect gameplay elements of the DLC, and we are very happy to bring it to you all earlier than we anticipated! And with that...
We are pleased to announce the Rune Battle System!
We have been working on this for a very long time, and are so happy to bring the original vision for the battle system and the Dawning Rune to reality!
Featuring a Action Turn Based Battle System, with both active time and wait modes, with amazing visuals and special effects, and new battle mechanics. With the Dawning Rune, foes and allies turn times will rotate around the face of the clock, and when it gets to twelve, it's action time! Battles are as smooth and engaging as ever, and it makes The Dawning Clocks of TIme one of the top RPGs to play right now!
Alongside the battle system, you'll also see the revamped Life Bar (previously ECG). It's effects are linked directly to the battle system and, while on the field, you also see your status effects, especially useful on Aether and Proxima where you will take overheat and thermia damage as you walk around. Surviving just got that bit more challenging!
Even better graphics than before!
We have gone through the game with a fine tooth comb. You'll see new window colors, new story narration boxes, new tutorials and a brand new, animated and immersive titlescreen. We've also updated key cinematics and sequences for more realism, added special effects and tied up some loose ends with the adaption from novel to video game. We can not wait for you to try out these changes!
A Finalised, Robust engine.
The engine of The Dawning Clocks of Time is complete, which makes it quicker for us to add exciting gameplay features and story additions with quality. Part of this effort, as per usual standard, is eliminating those pesky bugs. With the engine overhaul, we've improved core stability, performance and future proofed the engine so it can be enjoyed for years to come, no matter what changes with PCs. With the usual bug fixing procedure, we've eliminated the following important bugs;
-We've fixed the crash that could happen when entering battles. The old battle system has been removed and replaced with the Relic Battle System. You won't experience these types of crashes anymore.
-We've upgraded the culling methods for deep space exploration, the game will now be able to show more on screen at one time instead of being culled out quickly.
-We've fixed a very annoying bug with controller input that could cause the UI to act up, this will not happen anymore and we gaurantee super smooth play.
-We've fixed a bug when Game Over occurs, which could result in glitches. We've changed behaviour so that it will automatically load your last save so you can continue where you left off.
-Improved AI for foes, they will detect 'threat' and more likely to counter attack as a hive mind against the most threatening for that turn.
We would list more, but there has been countless changes to the game in preperation for the final DLC, so we won't bore you with the details!
We look forward to your gameplay experience!
Final Notes
The demo has not yet been updated to reflect all these changes in the full version and does not include the new Rune Battle System, but it will at some point.
Also, previous save files before the 5.0 update will not work due to the scale of the changes to the game's engine. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Your old save files will still be in the folder. AppData\Roaming\The Dawning Clocks of Time\Saves. Future save files are stored in the 5.0 folder to avoid conflicts. We have managed to maintain compatibility with saves right from the Day One release two years ago, but unfortunately we need to progress with establishing our final vision for the game and dropping support for old saves before 5.0 patch was a last, but needed resort.
This update marks an amazing milestone for The Dawning Clocks of Time, and it's good to see our Indie title gain some major traction. With that, we've released parts of the Finale DLC early as part of the base game, along with usual improvements and graphical upgrades. And we are pleased to announce...
-Vehicles and Locations!-
Yeah, there's a Tank now in Aether Desert. There's more Karaks but we reward you with an achievement for squishing them underneath! You can ride the Tank across the desert to travel faster than before! You'll find the Tank by the Aether Outpost. This is the first of many vehicles coming to the game, and a small taste of the Finale DLC.
-We've added a brand new area, the Desert Village rendered in 3D into the game. There's some brand new side quests here involving saving the villagers from the Giant Worms, which reward you with a brand new consumable that's well worth it!
-Graphical Upgrades-
-We've made improvements to the mapping of Aether Desert, it's less sparse looking than before. Along with the addition of some pretty neat dust cloud effects and an updated world map that shows new areas and more!
The following are special effects, along with particles. On existing save files prior to the 4.7 patch, Special Effects are turned off. You can turn them on in 'Config' if you wish but you may experience problems such as random crashes. We recommend starting a new save file if you want to use special effects, in which they will be enabled by default.
-You will now see footsteps in the snow along with sound effects on Proxima A!
-There's now a neat dust particle when running and kicking up sand in Aether Desert.
-We've added footprints on the sand on Vega.
-We've added water effects for shoreline and undersea on Vega.
-Bug Fixes and other updates-
-We've improved the game's exception handling. If you, on the rare event that you encounter a bug or crash, the game will display a friendly message and the details about the crash. The game will then reboot to the title screen. The log file will then be displayed on the launcher when you next start the game, or you can go into Support on the launcher and send the report to us after viewing it.
-Fixed a rare crash that could happen when Simpson was in the battle.
-Fixed a rare crash related to new map effects.
-We've fixed a bug where the HERE icon would stay on-screen in Sanctuary City.
-Added Brandy that revives and restores 25% Dawning which you can buy from Kate at the start.
-Removed I'm A Gamer Tee and Sweatband as they were redudant.
-Fixed a overlay issue with flying cars in Sanctuary City.
This patch includes both important bug fixes and gameplay improvements! Important -We've addressed a memory leak in the game that could make the game crash with a missing file error on rare occasions that the game hits the 4GB memory limit for 32bit applications on Windows. We've addressed this by patching the game to be aware of more than 4GB of memory. -We've made some major improvements to the launcher. You'll now see your Steam user name when signed in and we have improved launcher startup time. We have also fixed some startup issues that could occur under certain scenarios. We've added the background music and sound effects back in now that the engine supports it. We've also updated the game art in accordance with the Steam Library artwork. -We've optimised the cinematic encoder for the game depending on the specs. When you first open the game, you'll see some magic happening. It won't take too long and it improves the animations of the game drastically. -You can now change the cinematic presentation zoom from settings. This feature zooms the area in depending on the scene, but you can now turn this off if you wish. -The game now features a HERE icon, showing the player where the character is (especially useful if zoomed out) along with Entrances / Exits. Some of the entrances are not easily found in some stages of the game so this will really help guide the player. You can of course, turn it off if you don't need it in Settings. -We've fixed an infinate loop bug that existed since the first release of the game. It was very rare for it to happen, right at the start with the first Karak battle, if you lost the battle the game would bug out and game over when starting from new game. We can now happily say this has been fixed. -A performance issue when zooming out the map has now been fixed. Gameplay Features -There is now a Proximity sensor that will alert you when you are near planets, Galaxy Gates and importantly, the energy cores for the Cartographer quest, making it much easier to track them down. -You will get Proximity Alerts when entering the space that warps to the Progenitor Graveyard, making it less frustrating accidently being warped there. Bug Fixes and Other Improvements -Added Map location indicator for Maine maps. -Fixed bug where it was possible to be defeated quickly by multiple laser barrages at the start of the game. This has been fixed. -Fixed Map tool not opening inside Maine buildings. -Added map location indicator to Aether Desert. -Added map location indicator to Blue Moon. -Fixed a bug where Aether Outpost could not be seen before entering it. -Fixed Progenitor dialogue at Pallas Base. -Reduced motion blur effect when entering Aether for the first time. -Added note that the train requires story progression. -Reduced volume for Sea background effect. -Fixed Time & Space relics being inaccessible in the Undersea. -Added Progenitor Dreadnaught to Local Map to make finding it easier than before. -Added Proxima A and B to Local Map. They were missing before. -Added Galaxy Gate to Local Map. It was missing before. -Added an indicator of the Termi when viewing the Alpha Centauri Map, making it easier to identify where you are in the system. -The Cartographer's Sphere Map will now show in green which Energy Spheres you have picked up, making it much easier to know which systems you have visited and collected a sphere from. -Replaced vague 'Use the Keystone' quest with 'Go to the Progenitor Dreadnaught.' -Added 'Critical Chance' to Tonic description. -Fixed Center of the Galaxy cutscene graphic glitch and text speed. -Fixed a bug with the Aether Facility inside cutscene. There is also a optional specific patch for non latin Windows PC's. If you are encountering a UndefinedConversionError, please download this seperate patch https://steamcommunity.com/app/1730630/discussions/0/3758851615167929625/

This exciting new patch adds the following new features! -Features- -You can now shoot using the Termi-57's Laser gun when travelling through space with the 'A Key" or the R button on the controller. This was suggested to us, that there should be more to do when going from sector to sector. It's early work, and there's more action coming to the game at a later stage. -If you enter an uncharted section of space, you have the option of warping using the 'W key' or the L button to a known sector (usually near a galaxy gate or planet.) This was heavily requested the players that were getting lost. -You will also now have a notification on which sector of space you are in, instead of having to rely on memory and the map, making exploring much more enjoyable! -Energy Cores will flag up as being in Energised or warped sector, making them easier to find than before. -The Time & Space Relic count will now be shown in the Rune Grid when moving between nodes, without having to go back to the centre to view the amount avaliable. -Bug Fixes- -We've fixed a bug in the save window where graphics would not display properly. -We've fixed a graphical bug in the Sirius System map.
A really exciting patch, Spacefarers! We are happy to announce our partnership with Psychronic Games, developer of Star Shift Series. With this partnership, they have worked alongside us to bring many new graphical updates to The Dawning Clocks of Time. We are also very excited to announce that an amazing team is now working on voice acting for the game. It will some time yet before that update will be here, but in the meantime, you will see a 'Enable Voices' option in the game. Currently, it is disabled. With that, here is the full list of changes that this patch brings; New and Improvements -You can now land on Proxima B! The planet didn't make it into the game, until now. In the future there will be more of the planet to explore, but the artwork has been completed, so we are so happy to add the planet to the game. -New overhauled graphics for the Archon Prison on Blue Moon, more fitting for the sci-fi setting. Special thanks to Psychronic Games for thier beautiful artwork here. -The mini-map is now transparent instead of having a blue surrounding which allows you to see more of the game's screen. -Further to our work on making the game widescreen, we've enhanced scenes such as Aether where the cropping reduced the view of the area. -Improved launcher startup time by optimising code. -Support on the launcher will now check if you are running the game from an SSD for optimal gameplay. -The launcher will now show the CPU clock speed and SSD alongside the GPU for support purposes. Bug Fixes -Fixed Blue Moon Plains being too zoomed in making navigation difficult. -Fixed an overlay issue with Blue Moon outpost being displayed incorrectly. -Fixed aspect ratio display issues on certain scenes. -Fixed a potential crash from occuring on some PCs.
This patch fixes/improves the following; -Improvements -We've reduced the installation size from 9GB to 6GB by removed redudant patch files, allowing the game to be downloaded more quickly. Fixes -Fixed Credit icon from appearing over text in the menu. -Fixed Summon Pluto consuming a large amount of Dawning. It is now fixed at 35% for each summon. -Pluto Strike and Pluto Wish damage has been doubled. -Fixed message not appearing if missile launch ability has been learned but not if a missile is in the inventory. -Increased Time and Space relic drops for some foes. -Fixed foes not dropping Aid Sprays later in the game. -Better Time and Space rewards from bosses. -Slower scrolling speed of text on Progenitor Scenes.
Features -The game is now finally presented in widescreen! This was a huge effort as the game had to be resized piece by piece and all assets and events redone to fit. We cannot thank our community and players enough for their feedback for the game. We've finally got there! -Dawning is now regenerated slowly when landed on planets or walking around. This does not apply to starship flight -When landed and travelling, you'll recieve payments every now and then from Vita Base. Amount awarded depends on Sven's LUCK stat.
