About Patch #2

Hi everyone! I know I promised that patch #2 would be ready for this weekend, but I decided releasing it on monday morning. I haven't had a lot of time to test the game and if I learned something from my time as a software engineer is that updating on a friday night is a terrible idea. If I release the patch on monday I'll have more energy to fix stuff faster (and also I don't want to work during the weekend). In patch #2 there are some minor bugfixes (they don't affect the gameplay) and a major bugfix (you could get stuck in a rock). Also this is the patch with the spanish translation, I translated around 1270 lines of text and tested the whole game so the UI doesn't break. And that's it! I don't think I'll update the game anymore after this, unless there's a gamebreaking bug. I want to take a break for a while and work on other projects. Patch #1 is out!

Hello everyone! During the last week I got a couple bug reports where the game crashed if you held a directional key if you held a key in a menu after opening the pause menu. That bug is fixed. I also went and fixed some typos in the game's dialogs. This patch also adds the naranjinas people in social media made during the last two weeks of september. They'll be hidden somewhere in the Deep Way. That's it for this update. I'm currently working on the spanish translation of the game. I got most of the game translated by now, I just have to test it and check if the UI breaks (and fix it if so). I hope to have the game working in spanish by the end of next week. New demo out now!

Hi everyone! Its been some time. I just wanted to give you a little update. I'm currently working on the final scene of the game, we're almost there. The game should be playable from start to finish at some point between now and mid July. After that I'll go and polish things, solve bugs, add quality of life and accesibility features etc. I'll ask for feedback in my twitter when the time comes to see what to prioritize. For now I'm releasing a demo here on steam! It's the same demo from itchio but with one or two balance changes. I'm looking forward to hear all of your feedback and bug reports, I want this game to be the best it can be in the time I have left before release. Thank you for your support! tomyatemo

Name Change and Release Date

Hi everyone! I have *news*: Because of life reasons I will be able to return to work on the game during the next months. The idea is to finish it and release it during the month of September. During the next few weeks I'll start to upload more updates on my twitter. My plan is to post frequent at least weekly updates about the game's current development. On another note I discovered there's a book which is also named Mac's Journal. So just to be sure to avoid possible legal problems I decided to change the game's name to "The Runemaster's Diary". This change means I'm changing some of the graphical assets I have here on steam during the week. That's it, thank you do much for following my game! See you in the next weeks! Tomyatemo

Undefined Release Date and other news

Hello again! I came to give you some updates regarding the game's current development state. Progress in the game has been slow in general, every month I manage to advance a little bit, but given the amount of delays up until this point I think it is impossible for me to give a release date. I promise you I want to finish it, but it is dificult to make progress given my house responsibilities, my fulltime job and my other hobbies. In theory I could try to finish it asap to get it out of the way, but I don't want to release a game that feels incomplete. Because of that, I decided to take a step back and not having a release date. You may see that the current release date is around 2025, that's a lie, but it takes a weight of my shoulders that is feeling pressured by working. My plan now is as follows, I managed to accumulate enough vacation days in my job so I can start working 4 days a week instead of 5 starting the second week of September for the rest of the year. That extra day a week I'll work on the game as if it were an 8 hour work day. I'll also try to work in the fun parts of my game in my free time, like the music for example, animations and level design. The parts that I feel are less fun I'll tackle them in the 8 hour period. Thank you so so much for the interest in the game and the patience yall have had. I'm giving my best and I hope it shows when you try out the full game. les tkm mucho tomyatemo

New Release Date and Why

First of all, thank you so much for showing your interest in this game! I've been working on it in my free time from almost 3 years now and its very exiting to see that it's finally taking form. Sadly, because of personal issues on which I won't go into too much detail, I haven't been able to work on Mac's Journal in the last few months. For me this has been a year of many changes and new responsibilities and it has been hard to get used to all this while working on this project. I want to tell you that the game is more or less 50% done, it has 3 areas from which the first one is ready; the second area has some rooms thata are not finished alongside other things; and the last area for now its just some mockups of rooms implemented in the game (but the game design of this area is in a very advanced state). Also the title and pause menu have some parts that are not finished, as well as some UI elements. But when I finish all these things the game should be ready. I think I can finish the game by mid 2022, you can't imagine how much I want these game to see the light and share the story I created with all of you. But anyway, thank you for showing interest in my game again. Los tkm tomyatemo
