It's Finally here! After many months of work and testing, we have finally released the update that has been talked about so much. There are a lot of changes to Combat compared to the last build. We've overhauled the UI as well as how XP is rewarded and how the Hive/CC take damage. These changes are aimed at shrinking the level gap to insure everyone has fun playing as well as to eliminate stalemates and keep the game fun.
There are many other changes that have been made. The changelog is posted below. If you haven't hopped into a game of Combat in awhile, now is the time!

Alien Tweaks: - Hydra health decreased from 610 to 500 - Hydra fuel drain decreased from 0.12 to 0.02 - Hydra minimum rate-of-fire set to 0.25 sec (overall rof nerfed) - Whip unlock lowered from level 9 to level 4 - Fades can now Double jump - Spore mine placement range slightly reduced - Spore mine damage increased from 30 to 36 - Gorge spit damage decreased from 30 to 28 - Babblers from babbler bomb decreased from 3 to 2 - Babblers from babbler bomb are now hard capped to 6 per gorge - Babblers skill level increased from 4 to 5. - Acid rocket got a new damage type, does 4x damage to structures, and 2x damage to Exos. - Acid rocket rate of fire increased 1.5x - Acid rocket energy use increased - Removed Ink ability - Onos charge now knocks marines out of the way - Reduced the range of stomp form 12 to 11 - Crag self heal has been reduced slightly (it will still heal other objects and players the same amount) Marine Tweaks: - Flamethrower damage and energy drain increased - Grenade launcher building damage now does 1.5x - Cluster grenade damage increased from 50 to 75 - Cluster damage now does burn damage to structures - Revolver damage increased from 38 to 45 - Revolver reload animation updated - Cannon has a slight chance to stop a fade from blinking - Cannon rate of fire increased - Cannon now has a slight spread - Railgun damage reduced from 30 to 25 dmg - Railgun charged dmg reduced from 140 to 40 damage (Puncture type) - Railgun charge rate buffed 60% - Added Axe into game - Axe does structural damage, and Knife now does normal damage - Armor rebalanced to prevent dying with armor left Game Tweaks: - XP is now rewarded on damage instead of kills, but the player who made the kill still gets a slight xp bonus - Hive/CC shields now block % of damage instead of full damage - Respec timer reduced to 4 min - Normal damage type has been changed to take 10% more armor then hp. this will allow armor upgrades to be more use full - Marine buy menu UI overhauled - Revolver animation updated - Shader on revolver updated - Shader on cannon updated Additions: - Marine structures now require power (excluding armory and CC in base) - Added new Blast doors to be placed in maps. - New toy thrower in Ready room. (YAY not stuck to Halloween or Christmas any more!) - Added new model for XP gifts. - Added overlay to buy menus to determine if you need to be close to the Hive/CC in order to obtain the upgrade. NS2: Combat includes seven different player-controllable lifeforms, a vault full of weapons and abilities, a stats system, full modding support and five original maps. Games last around 15 minutes and players may join and leave at any time without disrupting gameplay.
Faultline Games is a game developer that started as a mod team. Our indie-publisher, Unknown Worlds, also started as a mod team. NS2: Combat evolved from the modding community of Natural Selection 2 to become a standalone game. It does not require Natural Selection 2 in order to play.
