Small update, added 10 Achievements and added music to each scene :)

Added 10 new Achievements and added music to the scenes rather than the same saxophone song lol. I hope everyone's enjoying the update so far. This was the last thing I needed to do regarding this update, I will now begin work on the sharing route. This next update will focus on the neighbors, more of Gwen, more main story plot, and a lot of sexy scenes to come...

Because I Love Her Major Love Route Update And Discount Coming Tomorrow!

Love Route Update


Hey guys, this update took me a lot longer than expected due to all kinds of lame reasons I won't get into. The update is here, finally, and what started with around 450 renders ended up at 700, the largest amount of content I've ever created for a single update! (I've been a small solo dev for 6 years, and this is my first project I've been happy enough with to put out there.)

What's included?


  • ~700 new renders
  • 20 new animations
  • ~2500 lines of script
  • Added requested adjustable textbox opacity for better scene visibility :)
  • Updated Gallery to include new scenes

How do I go about viewing all the new content?


You must go to this point towards the beginning of the game and disable NTR to be on the love route!



You will then see this choice way later, be sure to click it to begin the new content after seeing Arora, you will then begin the latest update shortly after.



I have made my Discord server easily accessible on the main menu so you can personally ask me any questions you have and I will be there to support any time during the day. (PST) I have not yet added new music to the new scenes, nor did I add the new Steam Achievements (Only 1 so far for testing purposes) but those will go up within a week from today :)

Post Valentines Day Sale And Progress Report!

Hello everyone and happy belated Valentines Day!


First, I want to let you all know that the update for the love route is coming soon, however, not at the planned late February release. It'll have to sadly wait until March. I haven't had any issues with progress other than a few blue screens of death that scared me that past 2 days, but all is well now! I honestly just ended up going with my gut and making the update a lot larger. It went from being a decent sized release, to a major release in my eyes as this next release is intended to fully open two main routes in the Love Route. One will be optional, the other will be the typical one. And no, it will not contain NTR or any of the such. Rather, some content not everyone is into... But it had to be a done in my opinion as it is how I always saw my original story unfolding. As you all know, I have listened to your feedback and began implementing even high quality renders, longer animation loops, more animation angles, and so on. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of the new content, I know so many of you are dying to play the love route!
I wanted to originally release the update with a discount this month, but decided even without the update, many have been messaging me through discord and other means waiting for a sale, so here it is for those Wishlisters who have been patiently waiting! I promise the new content will be worth the wait :) Cheers, The Typist!

Road map and QOL improvements

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you and your families are healthy and well. I wanted to make a post detailing my plans with Because I Love Her and go over some changes coming soon as well as my plans for the next updates. First, I want to start off by thanking you all for your support. I would like to believe the launch was a success and that the responses I've gotten from the community were very helpful when it comes to where I want to go with the game. I will try and avoid spoiling story and such, and instead will detail what paths are to come and how the Steam Community has effected my future writing and plans. First, in response to some helpful criticism, here are a few Quality of Life improvements coming with the next release:

  • Added in a new mostly transparent text box with an opacity slider in the "Preferences" menu
  • Deleted empty periods used to transition to the next scenes. Ex: "..." ".." "." "New scene"
  • New animations will be produced in 60 fps and at higher quality to help smooth them out
Next, one of the most common questions I received are in regards to the next "Episode" and whether or not this purchase includes all future content. I originally called the game "Episode 1" as my own way of avoiding the term "Season" and whatever else people use. The reality is, it is simply one game in Early Access that will contain ALL future content. So, to fix this issue, the games title on the store page will now just be "Because I Love Her" as it is in every other area. Hopefully, this will lower the number of users who think the game is in a completed state and will need to purchase future episodes for more content. It is all included in your initial purchase, no matter how large the game becomes.

Roadmap


Because I Love Her has two main paths, what I would consider to be a "Love" path and a "Sharing" path per say. The sharing path was released with more content as I gathered more information on where the love path should go. I believe I have enough ideas from the community, and have already began writing in much more content for the next love release. The plan is to release the first minor update near valentines day for the love route, and then the first major dual path update around 2-3 months after, depending on how much content is deemed enough for a major release. My idea of a large update would be around 8,000 lines of script between the two paths combined, over 1500 renders most likely, and around 30-40 animations. That is, to me, what a "Major" update would look like. What do you guys think? Would that be a considerable amount of content? Please remember, as of now I am still a one man team, but plan to seek help starting in February from a friend of mine who I am teaching the programs I use to render. Until then I still haven't seen a single penny haha. So, the next release will be the Love Update and will focus on the MC's relationships with both Claire and Zoey, and will begin a whole new form of content between our two love interests, opening up the path to many more possibilities, including the introduction of more of Claire's family into the picture. Another thing I am doing is investing in a new PC build in February to help with new render times of these larger animations and render queue's. It wont be a super computer just yet, but a 4090 will speed up times by around 30-40 percent compared to my 3090 I currently have, and with it being a full PC build I can continue building scenes on my old one as I render them on the new. So, the year should include 4-5 major updates placing the game near completion, unless the Community decides the story and character growth are moving along too quickly. With paths splitting more and more as time goes, once can only assume writing will only become more complex. We will see how the first two updates go, and hopefully be able to better predict and plan the rest of 2024 out.

Quick bug fixes post release!

  • Fixed a bug at the end of the Love Route that showed the gallery variable unlocking but didn't exist
  • Fixed a bug where during a screen showing multiple positions, if you clicked the positions more than three times, the continue button disappeared
  • Fixed an image bug that didn't show up correctly for some in chapter 1 (Just needed "with" to be lowercased) [/olist] Thanks everyone who reported bugs to me :) I'll be watching closely to make sure the game is always updated with fixes ASAP!
