Patch 0.2.2: Our Crosses to Bear

Hey everyone! This update vastly improves incoming attacks\' visual effects, and changes the reward icon for Death\'s Door.

For our next update, we hope to bring some new Weapon Art Refinements to the game - specifically for the Ephemeral Blade\'s Crossdash and the Gnossis Staff\'s Earthbreak.

  • Enemy melee attacks now have a special effect that plays right before the attack begins - hopefully that helps with Parrying! (This effect appears red when an attack cannot be parried);

Deathward +50% chance to resist Death in Death\'s Door. Gain a Defiance.

Last Dance All damage is doubled during Death\'s Door, but you must remain in it for at least 15 seconds before escaping.

New Enemies

Cryptbreaker a calcified golem that leaps into the air and lands onto the player;

Weeper a mass of flesh and eyes that shoot tears out of their eyes;

Shade ...it\'s you.

Voice Acting

Various game scenes are now voice-acted in portuguese! As new updates come, more dialog will be dubbed, too.

Some enemies now appear exclusively in certain regions;

Activate Constellations to add difficulty modifiers to your Journey, in exchange for extra Souls!

Crater - The Cup Flasks only heal 1 Blood now.

Corvus - The Crow Enemies attack more frequently and in greater numbers.

Gemini - The Twins Add two random extra Corruptions to this Journey.

Cepheus - The King Bosses become stronger and add variation to their attacks.

Crux - The Southern Cross Bleeding becomes lethal and slightly faster.

Pyxis - The Compass 5 Keys are required to open each Region\'s gate.

Heartburn Gain 100 Max Blood. Lose 75 Blood at the start of every combat.

Crimson and Scarlet Can\'t go over 40% Blood. Recover Blood for all melee damage.

Eclipse Double all knockback. Enemies take massive damage from hitting the edges of arenas.

Deathloom The String has no cooldown. Lose a Dash usage.

Hey, everyone! As promised, the Tactician and Ardent Rage (now named Crimson Rage) Talents have been reworked! We\'ve also improved the readability of enemy attacks, and made more balance changes!

For the next patch, we plan on continuing to improve the game\'s conveyance of mechanics. We\'re also looking into improving the String\'s targetting, particularly when used with the Smokeshot, though that might take a while.

Hey, everyone! We\'re getting a bit experimental with this one. Lots of balance changes, including the Ardor System, Talents such as Silkcloak and Ghostrunner, and Cassius\' Sacrifice!

For the next patch, we have big reworks planned for the Tactician and Ardent Rage Talents (they\'re a bit boring at the moment) and some more improvements for Cassius\' fight. We\'re also planning on reworking the Tutorial to become more dynamic, but that\'s probably coming in a patch later down the line.

BloodRush: Undying Wish is an extremely fast-paced hack n' slash roguelike set in a gothic, undying world. Dash, shoot and strike with ability combos, weaving between enemies like an improvised dance. Death is gone; bring her back.

The Witchery Woods

The Witch A member of the Cult of Eternity, the Witch is a sarcastic and spirited expert in alchemy, necromancy and black magic. Suffering has never been so comical!

The Beast ...or what's left of it. The Witch's "child" is as dangerous as it looks.

The Woods dance in arenas devastated by spikes and fungi - a reflection of the chaotic and free spirit of its dweller.

New Enemies

Ooze a lumbering slime, result of nefarious experiments, that multiplies itself on death;

Doll fragile and fearful enemy that protects itself with an umbrella, pushing the player away;

Soulmate an empathic soul that protects another enemy, gently rotating around it. Dies if it distances itself too much from its loved one.

New Weapons

Gnossis Staff A mystical Staff that specializes in displacing and manipulating enemies - pulling, pushing and stunning.

Storm Dragon A hungry and vengeful Blunderbuss that focuses on quick, potent, short-range damage.

Thanks to the Witch's shenanigans (hehehe), your enemies now transform during your Journey, evolving into more dangerous forms and receiving new powers, such as:

Blinkbones flying Slitherbones that teleports on taking damage;

Skullbearer the Tombfeller becomes more resistant, and carries a Slitherbones on its shoulder;

Vengeful Doll a tankier Doll that reflects melee damage back to the player.

Modify your Weapon during the Journey, transforming or refining your attacks, such as:

Spectral Blade transform the Blade's third attack into a repeatable dash slice;

Mirror Revolver deflect projectiles with your Revolver shot;
