Its been about three months since the full release of Backpack Battles. During this time, weve mainly been rolling out balance updates while also working behind the scenes on the design of a brand-new class. Now, its finally time to reveal her!
Were excited to officially introduce the seventh class coming to Backpack Battles the Engineer! Shes currently in early development and is planned to release in early 2026. If you own the game, she will be available as a free update!

A core mechanic of the Engineer will be shooting electrical charges, which provide bonuses as they travel over the items in her inventory. Some items can emit these charges, manipulate them, or benefit from themlike the Battery, which actively emits a charge.
In addition to electricity, the Engineer will also explore some secondary themes, such as stamina manipulation and advancing item cooldowns under specific conditions. These systems are still being tested and refined, so things may change before her final release.
