Due to all the changes that 3.0.0 adds, mainly around the new level stuff but some balancing things as well, the update is going to force a new save for everyone. Your old save file is still there, if there is a great enough need for it, I can upload the old 2.1.0 version so you can still play on your old save. However, I very much encourage just starting fresh on 3.0.0 and enjoying all the new features.
Boink has entered release candidate (RC) #7 and will most likely see an RC #8. But we are hopeful for a weekend launch :)

Hey friends, it has been a long time.
It was recently the 1 year anniversary of Boink entering Early Access on Steam. It has also been roughly 10 months since the last update. Believe it or not, I actually have been working on 3.0.0 of Boink since the last update, but lots of burnout and life just being life again caused significant delays. Regardless, the update should be coming out soon. We are currently on release candidate (RC) #6 of the update, couple more polish things and bugs to squash and it should be good to go.
I wanted to use this time to go over some of the changes that are coming in 3.0.0 which I am excited about
Quality of Life
One of the most common things people complained about in Boink was having to click so much to just get a bouncer placed to upgrade, or the clicking that was required to go and upgrade all your bouncers once placed. In this update, there are now multiple ways to upgrade your Bouncers such as:- Upgrading all bouncers on the map
- Upgrading all bouncers of the same type
- Ability to choose a starting bouncer level when purchasing a bouncer

Particle Effects
This update also adds particle effects to pretty much everything, from all bouncers, to firing money, to collecting money.
There are also other effects added to other things like when rebirthing:

New Level Extensions
Before when purchasing the Increase Level Size rebirth upgrade, it would simply just add more extra space at the bottom. Now, the level is extended and includes some kind of gimmick to build around.
Directional Bouncer Adjustable Force
Directional bouncers have always had the ability to select where the money gets launched out of. Now, the Directional Bouncer dictates how much force the money gets launched with, which can now be adjusted:
Rebirth Changes
Rebirthing has now been changed to be based on your Total Money collected instead of your current money. It also removes the max 50 rebirth level count. The shackles have been removed.There are plenty of more features and changes and fixes that are all coming 3.0.0. Keep an eye out for when the update drops which will include the full change log.

Hello everyone,
Thank you to all who have purchased Boink, it truly means a lot to me. I come bearing the first patch to the game.
This patch comes with some major changes to gameplay in order to capture a better flow. One of the last features I added to Boink before pushing to Steam was the ability to rebirth more than once at a time. Unfortunately, that meant the mechanic did not have enough time to be gameplay tested, and it led to players being able to purchase multiple if not all rebirth upgrades at once. I wanted rebirths to feel like milestones for the player to hit, so with this patch it will hopefully better balance everything with tweaks to every rebirth upgrade price.
Another change to gameplay is that bouncers now have a starting level cap of 50. This can be increased with a new rebirth upgrade called Increase Max Bouncer Level. This gives the player lots of milestones to hit now with trying to max out all the bouncers, and keeps the math from growing out of control very quickly.
