Next Fest and Next Steps
I'm planning on leaving the demo up for around a week after Next Fest ends. At that point, I'll begin open beta testing on Steam. Not much will change immediately from the demo to testing, except things might break more frequently and experimental features may be added and tested. Deus Proxy is a very complex game and I'll need feedback and data from real players to make sure I get rid of bugs and properly balance the game.
In addition to more spells, units, heroes, and items, there are a few major features you can expect from Deus Proxy before early access:

First of all, thanks for trying out Deus Proxy! A lot of people have tried out the demo and it's great to see people playing. I wanted to announce my plans for further testing and lay out my plans on when you can expect early access and a full release, as well as what features you can look forward to.

Upcoming Features
In addition to more spells, units, heroes, and items, there are a few major features you can expect from Deus Proxy before early access:
- A "Rival" system: When you win a run, you can become the main boss in someone else's run. They'll follow in your footsteps, fighting your armies again and again throughout their run, eventually fighting you in a final showdown
- Better battle playback: Better visual feedback for things like critical hits, Better indicators for buffs and debuffs on the field, and a system that highlights key moments in the fight
- More levels
- A UI rework: Some placeholder UI elements will be reworked, giving the game a more consistent look
- The ability to see fights where you were in someone else's run
- and more...

A New Kind of Auto Battler
Deus Proxy is a roguelike that brings together the most exciting aspects of new-school auto battlers and old-school tabletop gaming. Every game is a completely new adventure with 15 factions, human opponents, and hundreds of heroes, items, traits, and spells!
Asynchronous Multiplayer
In Deus Proxy you play through hand-crafted PvE and one-of-a-kind PvP encounters. Any army that wins a PvP encounter becomes an adversary in other player’s games. You see the enemy armies before picking your cards and designing your own army, which rewards drafting a diverse deck to counter the challenges you might face instead of playing the most "meta" cards.
Comprehensive In-Game Information
Tired of "wiki games" that require you to constantly alt-tab to see what a powerup does? Every spell, item, hero, unit, trait, buff, faction and game mechanic is explained in a searchable in-game compendium. When designing your army, an overlay tool is present to quickly view any stat of every unit on the field. Within seconds you can discover ways to counter your opponent.
Endless Theorycrafting
Every game of Deus Proxy is a possibility to try new strategies and find new synergies! There are no implicit faction bonuses, all bonuses come from items and spells related to that faction. Your plant-based army might focus on empowering ranged units to entangle far-away targets, giving army-wide regeneration bonuses to make your treants walking tanks, or just being immune to the acid rain your mage caused. Because you have 1-3 battles per turn, it is vital to keep your armies adaptable for each new challenge!
Heroes can equip any item that you obtain, and can cast any spell they have the slightest proficiency to cast. A huge variety of builds are possible, and the traits and stats a hero has are only a suggestion of what they're capable of when properly equipped.
