Coming Soon: Begin Your Dungeon Defenders II Experience!
Check out the Tavern’s new Hall of Triumphs where you can unlock unique items, titles and pets for Dungeon Defenders II!
Important Notes:
- Dungeon Defenders Eternity is rebuilt from the ground up for security, so you will not be able to continue your previous Dungeon Defenders saves.
- Dungeon Defenders Eternity requires an internet connection to play online. There is a offline mode beta, where after updating the game you can play offline with separate heroes.
- Dungeon Defenders Eternity requires you to create a playverse account.
Patch Notes
- The bootstrapper has been removed so the game will automatically log-in when you launch it from Steam and will no longer re-download files on startup.
- The overlay has been removed and all functionality associated with it has been either built into the game or replicated using Steam services.
When you download the update you will need to transfer any local save files you have into a new directory. Here’s how to do that:

Greetings Defenders,
Thank you for your support through the release of Dungeon Defenders Eternity. It’s been a humbling experience, one that has highlighted that we need to do better as a studio. The lessons we’ve learned, from greenlighting projects to managing external partners, have been invaluable.
As such, we have discontinued our relationship with Nom Nom Games. At Trendy, we will be producing one more patch, which will remove the playverse login and overlay. (The monster is dead!) This patch will not contain any gameplay modifications or the in-progress rebalance. In the future, you will receive your Hall of Triumphs rewards for owning Dungeon Defenders Eternity automatically in Dungeon Defenders II.
As a thank you for your continued support, we will be giving owners of Dungeon Defenders Eternity a free code for the Dungeon Defenders Collection later this summer. This will be a giftable code, so if you already own the full collection, you will be free to give it to a friend or sell it to a stranger.
We’re also updating the original Dungeon Defenders. For the full details, please head to this post.
Sincerely,
The Trendy Team
Update: Steam gave us the all-clear, so we went ahead and sent out the Dungeon Defenders Collection codes. You'll find the code in your Steam Inventory.
Update 2: If you received a giftable copy of DDE (either as a gift from another user or if you purchased a Steam copy of DDE on another website), you should now have a copy of the DD1 Collection in your Steam library. Unfortunately, Valve was unable to give gift-copy players a giftable copy of the DD1 Collection.
Update 3: The free DD1 Collection code offer will end on June 5th. If you haven't received your free code, you have until June 5th to contact support@trendyent.com to receive your code.
Greetings Defenders,
In just a few short hours we will be kicking-off the first public test weekend for the rebalance we have been discussing all month. Starting tonight at 8pm we will be rolling out the rebalance patch. It will stay live until Monday morning at 11:30am when we roll the live client back to the previous version.
What this means for you:
Heroes, pets, towers, enemies, abilities, and everything else except gear will be conforming to the new design set forth this month in a series of “Let’s talk about” posts on the DDE forums.
Due to the method in which gear is stored in code, it will remain in the old balance regime because there will be no good way to revert it once we convert.
What this means for you:
You could find yourself in possession of some seriously overpowered gear.
Given that we know that much of the existing gear could be OP, we are asking you, fine dungeon defenders, to work with us in testing this rebalance and avoid posting feedback on the forums based on experiences with already existing gear. Starting a new hero or farming new gear for an existing hero are good ways to get a feel for what new progressions systems will feel like.
While we encourage you to discuss this topic amongst yourselves all weekend, on Monday, when we revert back to the current patch, we will posting a consolidated feedback thread on the forums where we will be tracking community sentiment on the rebalance. This thread will directly influence how we move forward with testing and possibly applying the rebalance.
Thank you for reading up on this topic and bearing with us as we completed the patch.
For more information about the Rebalance, check out this comprehensive post.
When we launched the Workshop late in 2011, we expected that it would grow, but not that it would grow this much, this quickly. So far, the total payments made to individuals for the creation of in-game items sold in Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have passed $57 million. This money was earned by over 1,500 contributors spread out across 75 countries.
New Curated Workshops
The limitation of paid, revenue-generating Workshops to Valve content has been an unfortunate consequence of the sheer number of challenges required in order to scale to a global audience of creators and players. Today we're happy to announce that after a ton of work, the first curated Workshops for non-Valve games have opened: Dungeon Defenders: Eternity and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
This is really exciting news and means that more high quality content will be available for the game you love playing. Plus, purchases of this great new content directly enables those community members to continue practicing their craft and making more awesome content.
We expect more curated Workshops to become available for creators and players in various games over the coming weeks and months.
Introducing Revenue Tools For Workshop Authors
The Workshop has continued to grow and a larger number of contributors are now earning revenue from more pieces of content in a wider variety of games. To help answer questions about where revenue is coming from, we're also launching a set of new tools that enable contributors to view real-time sales data for their items as well as view detailed per-item revenue breakdowns and historical statements.
Once you have content accepted into a paid, curated Workshop, you'll see a link to "View Your Revenue" from your "My Workshop Files" page. If you don't have any content accepted yet, now's a great time to get involved!
