In case you missed it: The Quizard's Domain demo is once again playable, right now, as part of Steam's Couch Co-Op fest!
Grab some friends (or bots, no one's judging) and peep all the cool new stuff I've been cooking up.

New Arena: Voracious Void
This thing has all the newses! New domain/biome (Domain of Terror), new game mode (Co-Op boss fight), new visuals and audio! Fight a horde of mischievous demons on their home turf, navigating the broken-down Void Temple to slam the wrong answers with your light attacks.
Yes, Light Attacks!
You read that correctly - ALL playable characters now have access to a shared set of light attacks (up, neutral/side, down). They serve as common ground between the growing roster, and will be interchangeable as part of a loadout selection in the future. You will be able to combine different attack types with each character to really nail down your own personal playstyle and complement characters' abilities.
Speaking of Abilities
Every character will have access to an up, neutral/side, and down special ability, just like light attacks. Inspired by platform fighters like Smash Bros and Brawlhalla, this full set of light and special moves should give each character a fun set of tools for messing with friends and reaching your goals. The up and neutral/side specials are available for all characters now, down specials will be added in the coming days with a focus on defense and counterplay.
Menu/Lobby Overhaul
I want every part of this game to be as fun as it possibly can - and now, that includes the menus! There is still some polish missing here and there, but I'm proud to present a bunch of all-new ways to try out new characters and have fun together while matches are set up.
Game More Betterer
Too many things have changed to list them all, but here's a quick overview: - Across the board, all characters, interactions and physics have been updated to be snappier and more exciting - Performance on lower end PCs has been improved - Bugs. So many bugs. Squished and yeeted unto the void.

Hey everyone!
The public Steam demo is going down for a bit, as it no longer represents the current state of the game (more on that later steamhappy),
but it will make a GLORIOUS RETURN on February 10th, the day Steam's Couch Co-Op Fest begins - which TQD will be a part of this year!!
If you would like to play in the meantime and provide some thoughts on the many awesome changesI've been cooking up (more on that later steamhappy ),
I'm happy to hook you up with an override key :key:
On that note, the trailer is also heavily outdated at this point, but that's a problem for future me. And potentially you! Once the big old patch comes around (more on that later steamhappy ),
I'll be hitting up everyone who's signed up for playtests and recording sessions.

Welcome to the Froggy Sale! Big thanks to fellow indies Spelkollektivet for hosting this fun, frog-themed event
New Playable Character: Roger!
In honor of the big event, the fourth playable character has hopped his way into the demo (and soon, all of your hearts!). Roger's froggy legs may not be made for running, but boy do they let him JUMP! Zip around the arenas and reach new heights by combining Roger's aerial prowess and his sticky Grapple Tongue ability - either pulling him to the environment, or unwitting opponents to him! Our bouncy new friend will continue to improve and possibly gain more abilities based on player feedback in the coming days.
Balance and Quality of Life
There will be further improvements to the game over the course of the week, and quite a few have made it into the current version already! For example, all characters have had a tune-up, becoming faster and more agile, as I continue to strive for a fun and balanced play experience with every single one of them!

I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that The Quizard's Domain is part of this year's Tiny Teams Festival! It's a fantastic event showcasing solo developers and very small teams, that has been steadily growing in popularity year over year! The Festival is organized by the wonderful folks at Yogscast Games, and I will forever be grateful that they selected my game out of 1600+ submissions this year!! Special Content Drop
To show my love and appreciation for this incredible opportunity, I have made two permanent additions to the in-game quiz categories, available through Quick Play (more on that below) as well as the Category Settings menu in custom matches:

A unique category including questions about many of the other amazing, creative games that are part of this year's festival!
Big Demo Update
On top of this special content, the demo has also received a sizeable set of updates, including but not limited to:
- Moving CPU Players! Don't have friends handy to play with? Add a practice dummy or 3
- Quick Play! Jump right into the action ASAP and choose to randomize some match elements
- Anemotes! Express yourself while tearing through the opposition with these fun animated emotes
- Soul State! Mess with others as a soul ball whenever you don't have a live character in the arena
- Balance! Just about every set of numbers has been tweaked to improve the entire experience

Weeks of hard polishing work have finally paid off, as the offical Quizard Demo is now live and available to everyone!
What's part of the demo:
- 3 playable characters, with one more to join the Demo later on!
- 5 fully playable Arenas!
- 3.000 Trivia questions, courtesy of the Open Trivia Database!
- 10.000 German/English vocabulary questions, with more languages coming soon!
- Be one of the first to try out the game's core mechanics, with up to 3 other friends locally, or online via Steam Remote Play Together (4 players total)!
- Immobile CPU players as punching bags, soon with basic intelligence!
