A Minor Update for the Autumn Sale

The Characters Major Update

Dear players, We are proud to announce that we have just released a major update of Dawnmaker, including the long-awaited undo button, a whole lot of new content, and characters!
Start a new game of Dawnmaker today and meet Sibille, Cassian and Tha. Each has a specific starting deck and starting roster of buildings, as well as a difficulty indicator. Sibille is the one you know if you've played the game already: she likes fields and wonders. Cassian is more of science guy: he likes activation buildings and spending science to generate luminoil. Tha has a passion for harvesting and destroying buildings! She's the hardest to play with and should present a nice challenge for those looking for increased difficulty.

Gameplay


  • Added 2 new characters with their unique starting deck and roster. Choose the character you want to play with at the start of a run. Win a game with one of the two first characters to unlock the third one!
  • Added buttons to refresh the buildings or cards in the Airship market. You can refresh each content once per region, for a cost of 5 gold.
  • Fixed activations of the Aerostation, Ruins and Shipwrecks not triggering adjacent "on activation" effects.
  • Put more ruins in early regions to allow for more opportunities to discover buildings.

Quality of life


  • Added an undo button! You can roll back all the way to the last action that revealed new information, by pressing the button in the bottom left corner or by hitting Ctrl + Z. Actions revealing new information or including some randomness cannot be undone: drawing cards, refreshing the market, exploring a ruin or a shipwreck, etc.
  • Added a dialog to confirm that you want to start a new game when you already have one going.
  • Improved text rendering for cards with long rules.

MacOS and many improvements - Changelog 2024-08-09

Dear players, First we want to address our warmest thank you to all of you for the incredible reception you gave Dawnmaker! We've received a ton of great feedback about what you liked and what was frustrating to you, and this is really heartwarming. We've spent 2.5 years of our lives working on this title, finally seeing people from far away or close by playing the game and enjoying it is the best feeling. On to today's update: we're very happy to announce that Dawnmaker is now available on MacOS! We hope Apple enthusiasts will enjoy playing on their favorite computer. Let us know if you have any problems with the game! As I mentioned, we also received a lof of feedback about what was frustrating in Dawnmaker. Today we're releasing a first update that addresses many of these frustrations. Check the full changelog for a comprehensive list of what we changed.

Gameplay


  • Added a link to another region from the first region. Losing the 2nd region won't mean the end of the run anymore.
  • Added wonders as a reward for 3 regions.

  • Added a new FX around the aerostation when it can be activated to win.

  • Made the Airship tab be open by default after securing a region.

Changelog 2024-07-29 - Japanese available and a playtest on Steam

Dear players, We are very excited to announce that Dawnmaker will be available in Japanese on its release day, July 31st! It will come alongside the English and French translations. Japanese is already available in the demo: play it now. ;) We've also just shipped one last update before the release, with a big gameplay change, shiny new frames for the cards, bug fixes and some minor balancing on the content. And we're using this opportunity to start a playtest of the full game, open to anyone and everyone starting now! The playtest will be open for about 24 hours, so if you want to give it a go before the release, and help us make sure there are no bugs in the game, now is your time. To playtest the game, go to the store page of Dawnmaker, and click "Request access" in the playtest box. That's it, you'll then get to play the game as much as you like for the next 24 hours. Let us know what you think about the game here, in our Discord server or by pressing F8 anywhere in the game! World Map Update - New Demo for Steam Next Fest

Dear players, We are very excited to release a new version of Dawnmaker's demo today! Come and get a glimpse of the World Map feature, where you can travel the lost continent of Heksiga and repel the Smog, region by region. You'll also get to improve your starting deck, roster and resources in the new Airship menu. More replayability, more choices, more strategy We hope you'll like it!
Today's other big news is that we'll be participating in Steam Next Fest starting on Monday. Be sure to give the demo another try, and share it with your friends, to help us get the word out! We're a small team of 2 people, so everything you can do to help us show Dawnmaker around has a huge impact for us.   • Added an interface to see the content of your current deck, full deck, starting deck and discard, while in game (click on the deck icon or discard pile).

Changelog 2024-05-17 - Sound settings

Dear players, Today we are releasing a fairly small update, but containing a much-requested feature: sound effects volume setting! But there are a few quality of life improvements as well, details follow. Hope you enjoy this new version of Dawnmaker! Not included in the demo, we are making good progress on the meta-progression of the game, the feature is nearly complete and we are doing playtests with players in our discord and newsletter. Changelog 2024-04-30 - Lighthouses reworked

Dear players, We are excited to release a new version of Dawnmaker's Demo. Today we're balancing the game, making lighthouses and wonders more appealing, while balancing some of the strongest buildings. We've also used this opportunity to improve or fix some small elements. Here's the complete changelog since the last update! Behind the scene, we are working on the meta-progression of the game. We're making good progress, so it is possible that there will be a small look into that in the next update Stay tuned! :)

  • Allow the player to not choose a building when drafting.
  • Change the Smog ambiance to increase its oppression based on the Smog level instead of the Aerostation level.

Quality of life


  • Add a new form to send feedback or report bugs directly from the game, available anywhere by pressing F8.
  • Change the icon for action points, using a number followed by the icon instead of repeating icons.
  • Show that a card will be played if dropped using a growing glow instead of a vibration.

    Dear players! We are happy to release a new version of Dawnmakers demo today. Based on the feedback with received from playtests, weve improved the overall experience of the tutorial, with the intent of making it both easier to understand and follow, and to make it a more satisfying and rewarding moment.
    Heres the breakdown of all the changes since the last release (2024-03-21):

    Quality of life


    • Added a feedback when you gain a new building.
    • Improved the controls to play cards to allow both drag&dropping and just plain clicking a card.
    • Added the number of remaining lighthouses to repair in the Eclairium tooltip.
    • Added the number of remaining turns before running out in the Luminoil tooltip.

    • Moved the tutorial goals into a more visible box, added a bunch of small effects on them.
