We have just released a massive update for the Keep The Heroes Out demo! This update is packed with features and improvements to make it even easier for new monsters (players) to learn the ins and outs of keeping your dungeons free of those so-called heroes! Lets dive into the details:
Full Mouse Gameplay
You asked, we listened! You can now play the entire game with just your mouse if you so desire! You can control any way you want (Mice, Keyboard and Game Pads!)
New Dialogue System
Enjoy new original dialogue throughout the game with new artwork and writing made by Luis, the mastermind behind the board game! The game now includes introductory, defeat, and victory dialogues for each scenario. Plus, many hero actions now come with fun dialogue snippets! Because even heroes and monsters need to vent sometimes
New Tutorial Level
We created a brand new intro scenario to avoid overwhelming new players who have never played the boardgame. It starts with just the basics and with fewer rooms. Its the perfect way to get your claws dirty without losing too many treasures!
Awards Screen
At the end of each scenario, youll be greeted with an awards screen showcasing your achievements. These awards are based on various statistics like heroes killed, cards crafted, and more. Each scenario also has unique awards! Bragging rights, anyone?
Full Game Log
Now available in the pause menu, the game log tracks every action taken by heroes and monsters. Perfect for strategizing and reviewing past turns! Because who doesnt love a good play-by-play of their heroic (or monstrous) deeds?
Room Banners
Easily keep track of your monsters with banners showing the rooms they occupy and the actions you can take. No more losing track of your minions in the chaos!
Helper Text
As you select cards and actions, helpful text will appear above them, explaining what they do. Learning the game has never been easier! Think of it as your personal dungeon tutor, minus the chalkboard.
Undo Actions
Made a mistake? No worries! You can now undo card and action selections, giving you more control over your gameplay. Its like having a time machine, but without the paradoxes!
Scenario Goals
The current scenarios goal is now displayed in a red banner until completed, helping you stay focused on your objectives. Because nothing says urgent like a big red banner!
Menu Revamp
Weve given most menus a fresh new look. Sleek, stylish, and easier to navigate! Your eyes will thank you.
Scenario Selection Preview
Check out the obscured preview image for each of the scenarios protagonists and their dungeon layouts in the new scenario selection menu! Its like peeking into the future, but spookier...
Improved Hero AI
Weve squashed all the bugs and issues with the hero AI flow. Now, everything works as it should according to the original board game rules. Smarter heroes, tougher challenges!
Bug Fixes
Weve tackled way too many bugs to count. Our current bug list is down to zero! Its like a spring cleaning, but for dungeons!
Thank You!
That's it for now! We're very excited with how the project is shaping up and we're excited for the next steps! We hope you try the new version and let us know what your favorite parts of the update are in the comments!

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for playtesting our demo and making suggestions and reporting bugs! It's been great seeing what people have been thinking of the game.
This is a very early version of the game, we're aware of a lot of the things that are lacking such as animations, a tutorial, a way to undo actions, mouse selections and better explanations. We're at first focusing on fixing the more glaring bugs before moving on to more quality of life and visual fixes.
Talking about bug reporting and bug fixing, we now have an in-game bug reporting tool! If you run into a bug and you're unsure of what happened you can press Escape to access the options menu and click on Bug Report, it'll open this form that can be used to send us a log of the game and type some information about the bug. This is very helpful to help us find new bugs and narrow down what could be happening by looking at the game log.
Still on the bugs subject, there were some cards that weren't working as intended, mainly equipment cards and a couple of the scroll cards that involved spawning. Those have all been fixed in this update!
Once we solve the last few pending bugs on our list we'll be working on adding more helpful hints to the player on what each action does while in-game, a better explanation of the heroes turn as it happens and a full tutorial that Luis is planning and writing as we speak :) And lastly we'll be working on adding the undo option to more of the actions (Currently the only undoable action is move).
Thanks again! We hope you're enjoying the game!

🕹️ Partial Controller Support
🎮 Full Controller Support
Keep the Heroes Out! is an asymmetric, cooperative dungeon defense game for 1-4 players where you play as the monsters protecting their hard-earned treasures against invading hordes of “heroes” trying to steal it.
Monsters may die, which is tragic, but you can always bring them back to the dungeon! So you are never eliminated from the game, however, treasure gone, is gone forever.
Your goal as a team is to survive going through the Guild deck 2 times protecting the treasures on each room. If the main treasure is taken, the game ends in defeat, but if you manage to protect your treasures for long enough, we all win.
