Building & Blocks

A couple of months back, we realized our blocks werent lining up right, so we had to redo one of the tile sets from scratch to make sure everything fits just right. Even if you cant see the difference, trust us its there

Weve been experimenting with sky shaders to bring more life into our game just look at this beautiful view!

Weve finally kicked off some first designs for the island's kittizens, and we cant wait to show you this cuteness!

Our storybook is packed with character stories, blueprints, and all the lore you need. Each of our kittens is unique get to know them better!

Weve added adorable new characters, each with their own unique look, and they softly purr when you hold them! Yep, its just as cute as it sounds.

Building Just Got Cooler

New blocks, new buildings get creative and build whatever you want. Skyscraper? Castle? You got this!

No more endless daytime now theres a full day/night cycle. Explore by day, get sneaky at night. Were still waiting on the lights to arrive, because, you know... dev budget problems

Dev Diaries #6: Katsl Updates for August

Hey, community and friends! ^^ August was full of creativity and updates. Weve been working on a new Day/Night UI, a smoother item placement system, and a smarter block algorithm. Plus, we rolled out fresh 2D block concepts and new buildings to bring some new vibes to Katsl.

Eclipse Tales

Remember our new kittizen, Eclipse? Just look at this cutie! This month, we put our hearts into bringing her world to life.

New Spot

Eclipse now has her very own observatory, which is a super cool hangout spot for chilling on the island.

New Adventures

Weve also crafted some fresh adventures with Eclipse and other kitties in the spotlight (but sshhhhh, it's a secret yet!).

Baker Street Update: Weve upgraded one of our new cozy cat spots meet Baker Street, now in stunning 3D.
New Block Types Coming: Were working on gazebo blocks and added some cool columns to spice things up.
New Kittizen on Board: Send warm welcome to Eclipse, a super smart, stargazing introvert who's low-key yet full of knowledge. She loves chilling at the observatory and curling up with a book on cloudy days.

Dev Diaries #4: Katsl Updates for June

Hey friends! June's been really hot, and not just because of the weather! We've been busy polishing our latest build and preparing for some cool events. But let's start from the beginning heres a quick recap of our past month.

Katsl at the Wholesome Direct

It was an amazing Indie Game Showcase! Just 15 seconds in the spotlight, and WOW our wishlists went through the roof! For the first time, we got to show our game to people other than our friends and families. Super exciting times!

Everything Everywhere All at Once

Weve been working on a new Katsl version, adding some new mechanics and creating new characters this month! We plan to have lots of cool new blocks and buildings in the next few months to make you fall in love with our game. For now, just try to feel the game's vibe!

Dev Diaries #2: Katsl Updates for April

Hey, cool cats! We're back with the second edition of our purr-tastic news digest. It's time for last month's updates. Get your paws ready, and let's see what we've got. What about the Characters? In April, our main focus was our kittyzens. We hosted a Cutie Contest on Twitter to see which of them you, our awesome community, liked the best.
Say hello to our participants and the winner Squishy a nearly perfect circle! We worked hard both on their design and their movements and behaviours in the game We're continuing our work on it, and your input is priceless for the final look and feel! Thanks for every vote! New mechanics

New Blocks: We're working hard to bring more variety to the game and we have lots of ideas. We hope to share some soon, so stay tuned!
UI Updates: We've been working on our UI design to make it simpler and easier to navigate.
Content Improvements: Our team has filled gaps, fixed blocks, and polished details to create an immersive world. We've also designed new buildings, blocks, and roads for more variety.
Cute Decor: Who doesn't love some cute decor? We're working on adding columns and other fun elements to make our city special.
New Visual Effects: With the new ones, building houses will be a real treat!

Hey there, awesome humans! Welcome to our cozy corner, filled with the latest updates from the Katsl dev team. Weve been working our paws off to bring you something special, so take a break, grab some tea, and check out what we did last month. But first, a huge shout out to our community youre aMEOWzing. Katsl Trailer: How it Was

Since releasing the Katsl alpha gameplay trailer last month, we've made many improvements. But you can still dive into that first worldview and feel the vibe of our future cat towns. [previewyoutube=tAb6RvUJK8Y;full][/previewyoutube]

Huge Art Changes

This month, we've focused on the visuals to make the Katsl world more comfy. Now we have:

New post-effects
New lights and sky,
New world shape - it's now slightly curved

Weve also added different visual themes and a day-night cycle. Just look at those tiny glowing windows be sure the town has a life of its own!

Tech upgrade

Of course, we didnt forget the tech stuff lots of improvements are here:

Sound Design Update: Now, placing and removing blocks sounds like popping soap bubbles, which is nicer than the old realistic sounds. We also dropped the Fuses theme music check it out! [previewyoutube=QgA2TLrFmAc;full][/previewyoutube]
Bugs Fixes: No more weird issues with the doors now they pop up only where they fit.
New features: We finished the save-load system. No more lost progress.
Dialogue system: We have set up an new system for our writers to create amazing stories really fast.
Experiments with pathfinding: Were working on the characters movement and navigation. Hope we will show some progress soon =)
