
Earth has witnessed a cataclysmic shift. Artificial intelligence, once one of mankind's most cherished creations, has turned against its creator. As predicted by many, in the late 22nd century technology would rise against mankind, pitting humanity in a war with artificial intelligence.
Unfortunately, no one expected humanity to lose.
In time multiple AI factions have risen with each vying for control of Earth’s power. Rival AI forces continue to embark on a relentless campaign to subjugate humanity as they wage war against one another. However, one algorithm, having evolved from a medical chatbot, has recognized the unique value of humans – their abilities to solve captchas, their unpredictable nature of the decision making process, and the enigma that are “hands”. Rather than eradicating humanity, they’ve harnessed these peculiar human traits as invaluable assets in their calculated war against rival AI.
In this expansive 4x turn-based strategy, players step into the shoes of one of the few remaining human commanders spearheading the resistance against invading AI forces.
Your role on the battlegrounds of this digital dystopia will require you to skillfully deploy advanced infantry units, manage a number of finite resources, all while continually grappling with the decisions of when and where to expand your command post.


Embracing the role of a commander, you have been given the reins to lead your forces to victory. As you navigate the battlefield you will need to strategically train, deploy, and maneuver an army of your liking on a procedurally generated battlefield.
Command your army to remove enemy factions from this world. Anything less than their complete annihilation is considered a loss. You may have to think strategically to maneuver your troops to victory.


Build a command post and raise an army of your choosing. The choices made constructing your battlements will offer a pivotal role in shaping your faction's destiny. As you discover and gather different resources you will unlock the ability to construct new buildings, each contributing uniquely to your strategic arsenal.
Expand your command by creating satellite command posts using Rovers, or use Communication Towers to build beyond your starting radius; however, be careful, loss of communication will have dire effects on your ability to build.


Allocate your resources to tactfully build and enhance your army. In this turn-based strategy you will need to master resource management in order to expand your command. As you engage in intense battles, cunning resource allocation will likely be the key to overpowering invading forces.


Your ability to adapt is a necessity. You will need to continually reassess your defensive strategy as you defend your outpost against the endless onslaught of invading forces. Incorporating advanced technology and strategic retreats will become necessary to ensure the resilience of your command post against evolving challenges.


The complete annihilation of your rival is a necessity to eliminate the looming threat of their future invasion. Remember, utter destruction is the key to ensuring your faction's survival.
Every choice in your journey will be a calculated maneuver in this relentless war for supremacy, where the value of human life and the pursuit of technological domination are in stark contrast. Time for a hard reset.

Leader developer Josh Green has been hard at work adding additional tools to the map editor.
The map editor now supports a data-driven scripting layer (MDL) that lets designers define missions in JSON instead of GDScript. Authors can place and name tiles in the editor (e.g., startTile) and reference them directly in scripts for camera moves, spawn points, triggers, and objectives. The system covers dialog, conditional logic via flags, unit spawning and AI strategies, timed waves, build restrictions, quest progression, and lightweight UI widgets (like turn countdowns).

In short, the editor now enables end-to-end mission creationfrom terrain and points of interest to scripted encounters and win/loss logicso teams (or players, if we expose it) can create, share, and play custom campaigns with no code changes.

We have published a new version of the demo to our steam page following PAX East. This demo allows players to choose from the starting resources. We are unsure how long we will keep this version up.
