Dear Paleon players! I have an important announcement to share with you. I recently started a Patreon page and it's opening up new opportunities for our community. Why Patreon? [olist]
Modding
Before I tell you about the update, I want to share one more important information about Paleon. From the very beginning of development, the game was created with easy modification in mind. Already now you can independently add new buildings, plants and objects, as well as customize some game parameters. All data is stored in a convenient JSON format, which greatly simplifies the modding process. I continue to work hard to make modding even easier and more accessible. In the future, we plan to implement support for mods through the Steam Workshop, which will open up new horizons for the creativity of our community. If you have ideas for mods and need help implementing them, feel free to contact us on the Discord channel. We are always ready to support your creative endeavors and provide the necessary opportunities to bring your ideas to life. Discord channel of the game: https://discord.gg/Y4hy5DtmDM

The Return of Paleon: A New Chapter!
Hey everyone! I know, I've been gone for a while, but I haven't been idle. I have some great news: for the past two months, I've been working on a new game engine for Paleon! "Why?" you ask. I'll explain everything.
Paleon Legacy
Paleon's journey began in early 2019 (already 5 years!). Initially, it was my hobby project, a way to hone my programming and game design skills. Through this game, I learned to code in C#, understood how to write code effectively and what not to do. However, over time, Paleon accumulated problems that needed refactoring. A massive amount of interconnected code made things difficult: a single change could disrupt vital parts of the game. This led to fewer and fewer updates. The idea of creating a new engine was lingering for a long time, but I was afraid of the workload. But I finally decided to "reinvent" Paleon.
Paleon Reinvented
As I mentioned, I've been working on the new engine for two months and have made great progress. I learned from all the mistakes of the past and laid the groundwork for easy expansion and long-term support for the game. But that's not all! My goal is not just to simplify development, but also to add a ton of new features:
- A huge number of cosmetic changes and animations.
- Support for Linux and MacOS.
- Revamped animal husbandry mechanics (say hello to donkeys and cats!) and farming.
- A revised trading system.
- Settlers will now gain experience for their actions, affecting the overall settlement level and allowing them to unlock new technologies.
- Sound and music.
- A redesigned tech tree.
- Achievements.
- Tutorials.
- The ability to resize the UI.
When Will The New Version of Paleon Be Ready?
There's still a lot of work to do, but I plan to create the bare minimum needed for you to start testing the game. So you won't have to wait too long to experience it!

Dear friends and fans of my game, With a heavy heart I had to make the decision to release the game after three years of its development. It was a tough decision, since I did not have enough funds to bring the project to its final form. However, I believe that this is only the very beginning of our journey, and there is hope that the future will give us more opportunities to improve and expand the game. Due to limited resources, some content had to be temporarily removed in order to release the game. But I would like to assure you that this is not the end. My plan is to not only bring back this content, but to make it even better, more detailed than ever. In addition, I made another important decision. The Paleon game engine was written using Monogame, which is quite old and has a large number of shortcomings. It significantly slows down the game development process and prevents me from achieving a high-quality game. Thus, I have decided to transfer the game to the more modern and famous game engine Godot. This will allow me to implement many improvements and speed up development several times. Nevertheless, this does not mean that I will stop updating or fixing bugs in the current version of the game; I plan to do this while simultaneously transferring the game to Godot. I would like to thank you for your eternal support and faith in the project. Without you, none of this would have been possible. We are moving forward, and I am confident that the future of our game will be bright and exciting. Thank you for staying with us, and rest assured, the best is yet to come. Sincerely yours, Rick Technolithic. Features:
