Weirdo is an absurd, quirky campus horror story and an alternative love simulation visual novel game. Its the third game in the Parallel series based on the comics, blending comic panel storytelling with the visual novel game genre. The story unfolds at the mysterious Di Ying Ling High School, a place full of eerie legends and strange happenings (as mentioned in the previous works Concealed and Ghost in the Pool). The protagonist, Wang Zhe, has a "disastrous" appearance but possesses some unique abilities. By day, he's a straight-A student acing his studies, and by night, he delves into biochemistry research left by his father. In terms of gameplay, players will step into Wang Zhe's shoes and progress through the linear story by date. After class each day, they gather important clues by eavesdropping. Players can then explore different locations, triggering dialogues with various girls who have distinct personalities, leading to branching plotlines. Players must use their instincts or the clues theyve gathered to answer each girls questions within a limited time, choosing the correct gift to increase her affection. Once the affection reaches a certain level, players will unlock different endings and achievements. As the story progresses, and based on certain player choices, hidden characters like the "Mermaid" and "Lizard Girl" will appear, adding a magical element to the narrative. The protagonist will also become entangled in campus "brotherhood" conflicts, and the physical changes happening to Wang Zhe will complicate things even further. Weirdo blends campus horror, romance, superpowers, and multiple endings, offering players a unique gaming experience.

A: This time, the story of Weirdo leans more towards absurd and quirky with a bit of blood-pumping action, and it doesn't contain significant horror elements or jump-scare moments.

Q: How is the save system in Weirdo?

A: Like most visual novels, Yiren provides 20 save slots per player account. Players can save and load at any time during gameplay. (For technical reasons, loading a save will resume from the current story point, and a small part of the previously played content might be re-read.) Each save can be deleted or overwritten. We also recommend saving before key decisions, so you can explore other branching paths later.

Q: How long did the game take to develop, and what is the development team like?

A: Weirdo was planned and developed after the release of Infiltration and took about a year to complete. The game was developed entirely by CASCHA and JOEY, with JOEY (Nine Days Ten Nights) being the author of the Parallel series(. The comics have been serialized on platforms like U17 and Zongheng. CASCHA GAMES was established in 2021 after the release of their first game Substitute. The team has been working together for 4 years and has released three works in the series so far. In 2025, they plan to release more works in the series, so stay tuned!

Q: Will Weirdo be released on other platforms?

A: After the Steam release, we plan to port Weirdo to the Nintendo Switch. If everything goes smoothly, it will be released on Switch later this year. We currently have no plans for other platforms.
